So ehhh, one of the four "impossible" scenarios has been solved by Banananana on my Discord server. Guests do need a path piece to go on a ride, but a ghost piece (a path piece that you're about to build but haven't yet) works for that too. So in Crazy Craters you can get some guests in the park, remove all the path, build a maze, and put a ghost piece in front of it to allow the guests to ride it. You need just two guests to get enough cash to build the path piece for real, after which you're in the same situation as Icicle Worlds.
In Octagon Park and Pleasure Island you can research the maze, but by the time you get it the loan interest will have made you broke, so this strategy doesn't work there. And obviously for Micropark it doesn't work either.
-------------------------
I guess my mind saw the abstract scenery pieces in Icarus Park as trees when I wrote this video, but of course you can remove those for money and get over €2000 to build whatever you want, putting it in the "plenty of scenery & path" category.
That’s alright nobody’s perfect
They are trees, though! Alien trees grown of metal and glass!
Does it work in vanila rct1 where the "ghost" path is a blinking path?
@@Adam-ne7qc Yes, I did test it in RCT1 vanilla.
Was looking for this, I've learned to never accept anything as impossible in this game over the years.
I still remember a SpiffingBrit video where he tried to beat the game "starting with £0", and his amazing strategy was just taking out a loan, i.e. playing the game completely normally 😂
Nice to see it done properly!
I mean technically that is starti g with nothing...but yeah it us kinda cheaty
it wasn't rct, it was parkitect actually.
i was tripping cause I knew he didn't do a no money rct video.

I love how Marcel still has all those saved designs from that one inescapable maze experiment
I rarely ever delete saved designs. I have 38 custom wooden coasters, 42 custom corkscrew coasters, 66 custom giga coasters, 90 custom twister coasters, and 113 custom looping coasters.

Entertained forever, at that
Come for the promise of exciting roller coasters, stay for the contemporary art piece!
The irony is that some real life parks have done this with a signature defunct coaster and guests do think it is cool.
9:08 And here I thought we'd have a Marcel video without drowning guests. How foolish of me.
No no no. He just makes the guests "leave the park without going through the entrance".
It's one of the four certainties in life: death, taxes, Greece and Cyprus swapping 12s in Eurovision (when possible) and Marcel drowning guests.
😅
They arent drowning its just a very slow teleport~
the one tile hedge maze truly is the most powerful ride in the game
50% off advert, with you doubling the list price as they walk up, feels extremely authentic to the modern capitalist experience.

it's like when stores say there is a sale but it's just the normal price
Chris Sawyer deciding to allow the maze to be one tile might be the most impactful "tiny" decision in the whole game's development

Crazy Craters has a solution
@@theclaudeqc3rdone290 cool!
How long until pleasure island has a solution
Man, guests won't ride a dang ol' $20 untested boat hire in RCT1. So... gonna take you 4x as long to get going in Crater Lake.
Looks like my testing wasn't extensive enough, as I did test it with the untested steel mini coaster station and it worked perfectly. I just assumed it would also work with the boat hire but I did a quick test to confirm and it indeed doesn't work. Oh well, the scenario is still not too difficult luckily.

'Requires €69,420' VERY nice.
I remember the fake 'cheat' that if you close your park and wait like, X years or something, some dude shows up and gave you a buncha money.
Ah, the old days of fake cheats. Some of them even ended up in guidebooks. Physical, paper guide books.
it is weird that as a kid if it was printed, it was always true, then gradually we learned it is more complicated than that. Same for the internet
@@pizzaivlife If it's on tv news it's the truth. Yeah that aged poorly too :).
I still remember that one fake cheat code where if you named Guest 1 E=Mc2 and Guest 2 E=Mc3 they'll get together and give you all the research...
And as a kid no matter how much I tried (I would rename the first two guests, I would try parks which had a Guest 1 and a Guest 2...) it never happened. :D
I can't wait for the die-hard RTC players to see this video and SOMEHOW find a way to beat those 4 "impossible" scenarios...
They already managed it with one of them, using a ghost path piece to allow guests to enter the micro-maze. We'll have to wait for an even more clever cheat if we think the other two can be done. Micro Park is a lost cause.
Honestly as someone with adhd who never has consistency with what they do, channels like yours are such a comfort, how do you stay so focused on rct2 for so long 😭

The poor caveman went on to start a career of criticizing Marcel's strategies on Reddit 💀
Eh, I'm fairly sure he was trafficked to a freak show.
I mean, more power to him. Marcel isn't above making sequel/correction videos. If anything, he's basically outlining Marcel's content in advance for free. And then making him money by Watchung and criticizing those strategies. Either way Marcel wins. And so do we.
Marcel in a couple of weeks: "I was wrong! You can beat these 4 impossible ones" and proceed to blow our minds within 5 minutes.
"Hehe, new Marcel Video! Let's see the latest torment he puts his guests through"
4:40
"YOU MONSTER!!!!"
this reminds me: when I played the game for the first time, I thought I wasn't allowed to complete the (any) scenario, without also paying back the loan at the beginning of each level -> I've managed to beat the first 4-5 scenarios only xD
I love how I learned so much from you that just seeing the title I could confidently say there are only a few where you have no scenery or rides. And I am so glad I was right 😂

Sacrificed to the RCT gods, as is tradition.
If not for this sacrifice it would have been six scenarios.
A small price to pay for salvation.
as you do
Love the strategy in Razor Rocks. Charge people 20 bucks to get on a roller coaster, then after the car is full "oh I'm so sorry this ride is unsafe, you need to get off the ride" and then don't refund them
Standard Glaswegian theme park xD
9:06 Casual murder
I wanna see you beat all 30 corkscrew follies and Loopy landscapes without removing or adding path
`Watch someone beating all of the remaining ones in the future
This is why I prefer pay for park scenarios, because the start of the scenario is where my money problems are at its peak. With guests having to pay to enter the money that I need to make the park is guaranteed. Meanwhile I end up with too many guests who leave without paying a cent in pay for ride parks all the time.
I had that same mentality for a long time. "Pay for rides? Pah! Guests won't pay for rides! They'll wander around and not make me money!" and I found Loopy Landscapes to be difficult because of that.
Then I watched some of Marcel's videos and I'm now like "Paying for park entrance? Well, I guess I won't be making as much money then..."
@@stylesrj In RCT1 it doesn't make a big difference because the cash machine doesn't exist. Guests can only spend what they spawn with, and it doesn't matter much whether that's at the entrance or on rides.
@@MarcelVos
I know but I found that I made more money in those scenarios with ride tickets than I ever did with just pure park entrance tickets. Even when I wasn't meticulously fixing the prices based on ratings (and I kept park entry free so I once again didn't have to carefully micromanage), etc. and just charging a lot more than the default prices.
That information turned "Pay for Ride" from very hard to my preferred way to play the game.
@@stylesrjI think that is because in pay for rides, "empty" guests tend to leave, creating room for new "full" guests. While in pay for entry, those empty guests tend to stick around quite a bit longer.
Found your content by complete accident, i thought i was listening to a TB Skyen video on auto play, your voices are so similar! O.O love RCT, and your videos! ❤
Correct me if i'm wrong, but I feel like in vanilla RCT1 guests will still enter a park if it has no path piece. (Not sure sure if it would help with the impossible scenarios anyway, but I thought I should mention it.)
Did a test and nope, they don't.
After playing several scenarios, I have found that the micro corkscrew you suggest can not always be built that way. Sometimes (I forgot when) it needs an additional 3rd piece to get a two car train so that the thing works.
That's only when you're playing an RCT1 scenario in OpenRCT2. In RCT1 vanilla that 2-station design does get a 2-car train, but OpenRCT2 apparently calculates the maximum number of cars a bit differently and limits the length of the RCT1-corkscrew train to just 1 car on a 2-station design.
If you launch a 1-car RCT1 corkscrew train at 96 km/h you still get normal stats and can charge over 9 bucks for it (like I did in Tiny Towers).
@@MarcelVos Ahh, it was indeed playing RCT1 scenarios in OpenRCT2 that this happens.
Thanks for the speed tip, will use that in my current playthrough, where I try to build much bigger parks than is required to finish the scenarios.
Crater Lake is a real scenario?! I thought the Sudden Turn book made it up! 😅 Shows how much I know about RCT.
Yaya!! More Marcel Vos!🎢
15:52 Parappa trying so hard to win it with no starting cash but he didn’t
Icarus Park actually has a bunch of scenery that you can sell to get started,so I should actually be in the same tier as Crazy Castle.
Marcel: *Posts this*
Some guy in the Discord server: *Immediately solves an impossible scenario*
9:16 You like torture, don't you Marcel
This is actually the only scenario I play. My current play through prohibits buying ads and restricts the variety of rides/stalls (1/25 rides need to be a different type). I was really excited when I found I could put a photo section on my micro corkscrew coaster. - didn't mean to make it sound like "this is the new optimized version of the micro coaster", but I was really excited as I was working with zero cash.
At these early stages as well, I've found the launched freefall at minimal height works really well in addition to the corkscrew coaster. It's about $30 more expensive, but it has improved reliability.
The problem with earning money by removing scenarios: that's not how it works in real life.
You have to pay to remove any building. XD
This thing always baffled me in simulators.
Absolutely LEGENDARY thumbnail, I just had to click to reward that kind of effort
Marcel confirmed for Glasgow's Willy Wonka event planner.
Coming up next week: Marcel beats _all scenarios_, including the red ones, with -€1k starting money
Lmao. One has the wonder what the first guests were thinking. Or maybe they were held at gun point. Wouldn't put it past Marcel.
i am sure, someone finds a way to solve the impossible scenarios (at least some of them if not all ) just like someone found a way to beat a scenario with 1 tile.
15:25 can't you use a gho- *reads pinned comment* oh ok
So hey I had an interesting question: What's up with the brown logo? I see that you use it in all your videos and it's on the wikipedia page, but *every* copy of Rollercoaster Tycoon I've ever seen had the Tycoon bubble highlighted in red. That'd make a pretty interesting short video. Where the hell do the brown, pink, and red versions of the logos come from?
I just realized marcel now properly pronounces the english v sound! well done
Man, as a childhood game i didn't have rct1, only rct2. Crazy to think what scenarios i missed out on.

that starting strat is straight up extortion 😂😂😂😂
Man, Loopy Landscapes is putting in work for this challenge.

Demolish Nemesis? Blasphemy!
Im pleasantly surprised, i genuinely whas like: yes, you can, you are making a video about it
But then it turned out you couldn't
15:53 did you.. change the name to Microfart?
guessing the money ghost duplication glitch isn't allowed? (saving a tall rollercoaster with 6 height scenery basic block underneath it, then ghost build it, leaving the ghost scenery behind which can be deleted for money. Looking it up since it been years since I played, apparently there are different versions (unsure if they are referring to openrtc) where it was patched out. Edit: can't find video doing it, but you were able to drag the bug saved coaster across the map filling it all with the ghost block for big profit (too much the game crashes). Not referring to building a coaster to replace something.
You can't save a track design with scenery in RCT1. There is another trick in old versions of vanilla RCT2 where you can gain money by building a track piece through existing scenery, which would work, but you also cannot do that in RCT1.
Next episode: can you life with no money?

Is it an _Aztec_ pyramid if it's in _Inca_ Lost City, though?
What is the highest revenue/profit park you can make with no ride or stall duplicates?
Literal Rags to Riches story
All hail the track piece! All hail the track piece!
Build a ride for 34€ and charge guests 20€ per ticket. Lol
Didn't know there were rct1 scenarios where charging for entrance is forbidden. I always charged rides anyway.
Can you beat RCT with 0€ ? Yes. Change game currency to $.
Video Idea: how much money can you spend with a single mouse click?
huh, interesting, I've never noticed that the € sign was on the wrong side the whole time in the game
Who thought micro Park would be a good idea anyway......
Couldn't you beat the "impossible" ones by having a bunch of guests in the park, deleting the last path piece, and building a ride? The guests are already in the park at that point, and you only need one or two to enter the ride.
You still need one path piece at the ride's entrance for the guests to go on the ride, although it turns out the "ghost" piece that appears when you're in path building mode still counts. That's how someone beat Crazy Craters.
I'm guessing the other three scenarios are charge-for-rides ones so no amount of guests spawning can offset the fact that you can't afford a ride in the first place (due to loan interest and too expensive starting rides in Octagon Park and Pleasure Island, and the only path tile in Micro Park not giving you enough money to build any rides whatsoever).
Is it possible to beat all scenarios in RCT without charging for admission or any rides?
Next up, can you do it properly without using the cheaty micro corkscrew coasters?
3:41 What is the "gameplay" park in the "Other Parks" section?
A downloadable park from RCT1, along with Fort Anachronism, PC Player, and PC Gaming World. RCT2 also has one of those with Panda World.
Wouldn't Factory Capers belong in the blue category? It has quite a lot of scenery to delete.
7:47 Human life sure is cheap huh?
How do I play rct1 levels in open rct2?
Given that it was worded as "do not touch the loan" rather than "do not repay the loan", any scenario which requires a loan to be repaid is also impossible by rule.
That's not how the rule works, although I did word that a bit poorly. You're obviously allowed to pay back the loan, but you're not allowed to increase the loan to get money.
Is there really no awards you could get on the impossible parks to get money? Or are you crushed by the loan before you earn any awards? Do loans still take interest if you close the park?
Awards don't give money.
@@MarcelVos Ah, could have sworn they did! Thanks for the reply

Damn. So close
Is it still considered a cheat if it makes the game harder 🤔
Yes, I can
Easy. Go to settings, change currency used to Dollars, profit. No euros used!
EDIT: tsk tsk, clickbait title. You're using no money at all instead of just euros!
why cant you use stalls to make money?
Because the cheapest stalls are still 200 bucks. If you can't afford a maze or station piece you're for sure not going to afford a stall.
EZ, if I pirate RCT I will beat it with €0.
