Today me and Tuck are harvesting the best food in the world, and the great thing about it is that anyone can grow it too if they have the space. Not even kings can get food this good, and when you grow the food using permaculture principles the work becomes easier and the food gets sweeter with every passing year.

James… money can’t even tell you how much I love you and Tuck. You changed my life! I’ll forever appreciate everything you teach me and all the love you spread contagiously. Thank you again
You are too sweet Nancy!!! Thank you for your generous contribution and for the love and encouragement you give to me and Tuck. 🐕😁❤️
The merchandise has been “limited” for an unlimited amount of time
That bitter melon is super good for you. Continue eating it!
where do u buy ur plants? and where do u buy seeds?
Wait I can give ?? How ?
It’s too hot for Tuck to be chasing bunnies.
He should be ringside, sea side slick in’ on top of the world with a drink in his pan and his paws in the sand, on top of the world. Oh yah.
👑🐕
Can we just take a second to thank your camera-person, too? They do a terrific job keeping up with you as you jog around the garden showing us all of the wonderful produce you're growing!
Literally before your post, I just mentioned the camera person, that person gets no mention or credit. I gave a shout out to the camera person
He's a secret
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙂👍🏻
@@mpedals yeah why?
@@nataliesmith6208 Me too.
TUCKIE!!!!! ❤️💜💙❤️💜💙❤️💜💙
I can see it in tucks eyes, he’s sorry dad it’s just hot. Your excitement excites me, keep up the good work!
You seem like the happiest man alive in your garden! It's inspiring, I love your videos!
James you need to start bringing a wheelbarrow or wagon with you for your harvests. Tuck would probably enjoy riding around in the wagon like a king.
Let’s Gooo! 🐕
And the way you laugh when you want to show us what you got!!!!!! Contagious
💗💗💗💗💗 chase those little critters Tuck. Better protect those carrots
The people want a Tuck tshirt 👏😍
That is bitter gourd. And we use it often in India.
I admire your courage James for eating it raw 😅
My mum or grandma usually cook it stuffed with chickpea flour mixed with Indian spices and cooked with really less water and more like stir fry.
As a child, we hated it even after cooking they tasted bitter 😂
Did you like the bitter melon in the stir fry? I've seen it in recipes but not enough to actually grow it. I think I'll stick with my chicken tikka masala. I do add diced potato and summer squash to my tikka masala though.
I agree hahaha. He's brave eating it raw.
When James said he was going to eat the bitter melon raw, I thought, 'oh no! bad idea!' To reduce the bitterness, after I slice it up, I either a- salt it, wait a few minutes and rinse or b- parboil it before I put it in the stir fry.
Don’t eat it raw. Even when cooked it’s kinda bitter. Chinese usually stir fry it with pork or beef - common recipe is with black bean but don’t need it. Look up how to prep. Cooked longer so it’s softer should take out most of the bitterness. You’ve got to pair it with the meat or like rice. After you try it a couple of times it may grow on you so don’t write it off just yet. For my family it’s not an everyday dish though.
@@jngx80 I could eat it everyday now, but yeah, it took a bit. Early on, I only like it super ripe and/or cooked very well, until soft. I have found some varieties now that are not that bitter even when green. Nowadays I like it barely sauteed, but yeah, he is super brave eating an unknown green one raw.
James and Tuck are so wholesome 😭
The camera man deserves a raise ❤❤❤❤❤❤
please take good care of little Tuck and yourself! Drink water and eat a lot of fruits!
SWEET BOY!!!!🇨🇦🤗🇺🇸
DEAR JAMES,
I live in the Philippines and bitter melon is one of our favorite veggie (just not raw) please try this recipe first, this will mellow down the bitterness. stir fry the bittermelon in lots of tomatoes and eggs. You can put some meat on it too. We use bittermelon a lot and I think it is a great way to stretch a family's food budget ☺️ also it has tons if health benefits 🤩
Don't forget - you can eat the young ends of the vines and leaves also. Yum!
@@yeevita yes, sometimes we put it on the top of rice as we turn off the fire and let the steam cook it ☺️
@@OurJoyfulJourneyCanada Sounds delicious!
Good morning James and Tuck
Good morning my friend from down under, how is the other side of the world treating you?
We love Tuck 💕💕💕💕
James, Your expression after eating the bitter melon was priceless. My son and I were dying of laughter. We were hoping that you wouldn't eat it as we know how bitter it is(even when cooked). By the way the bitter melon is one of the best foods for people with diabetes. Thanks for making our day!
Bitter melon is one of my favorite vegetables . We, Asians , love it
Come on Tuck you can do it! Get those bunnies 🐰🤣. ❤️ y’all, Kristy in Missouri zone 6b 😃🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
💞 💞Little Tuck 💞 💞
❤❤❤❤❤ TUCK!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Tuck, get that rabbit 🐇. Thankfully you have supervised so well that there is an abundance of food provided for you and the intruder. You drive my dog Turner nuts when he sees you on screen, but he watches for you intently. You're obviously a great role model for canines and your master is certainly blessed with gifts. Keep it up you two.
We used to grow a native variety of ampalaya/bitter gourd here in the Philippines that really looks like the one you have shown James. We fry it with eggs and tomatoes or make it into salad simply using vinegar and season it with salt. We used to add salt first and then squeeze out the juice to remove the bitterness.
if the bitterness is in the juice, that's a fantastic tip!
@@8thcelisabeth Yes, blanching it would tone its' bitterness down. Also just cooking it until it is soft also tones down its bitterness. Also super ripe ones are less bitter. Also some varieties are barely bitter at all.
Thank you for this tip i will be trying this at some point!
By the way, congratulations on passing 1 million subscribers 🎉
Well deserved man 🙌
Thank you my friend. Me and Tuck appreciate that a lot 🐕😁❤️
@@jamesprigioni love to see Tuck as always. Tuck and our Thor are same as they both are boss and love to consume fresh veggies 😁

Hey man your tips helped me grow 200 peaches on 2 trees
Let’s Gooo!! That’s an epic harvest ❤️
James you are just precious. I so enjoy watching you exude joy and excitement while you dart around the garden and sing short tunes of delight with your harvests. I need to preset this video to play at 5am…it would motivate me to jump into the garden before work. And Tuck! I have your journal with his adorable face on the front. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Tuck king of the food Forest
Everyone should have a boss like tuck! We love him and his head employee James. Great camera man too. ❤🤍💙
Awww Tuck. 🧡🧡🧡Tuck: "I'm doing the best I can Pops? I'm just as God made me?" 😉Everything looks awesome as always. You must make some amazing salads every day!
James: "I'm very disappointed in Tuck."
Tuck: 😄
Thanks for all the info you impart James. I do have a request. Please take a moment to introduce everyone to your camera person who does a great job.
Your garden is a success if a bunny has moved in. You don't have a bunny problem, you have a lack of predator problem. Or an over abundance problem......you said it before
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ loving little Tuck and your channel James
🤣 your face after tasting the bitter melon ☠
Tuck is not slacking, he wanted a friend 🥰
We love you, Tuck!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
We cook bitter melon or bitter gourd by sautéing garlic, onion, and tomatoes then add the sliced bitter gourd…when half cooked we add eggs. Season with salt n little MSG
James you’re the Ben Shapiro of the gardening world… high energy, fast talking, and a master of your craft. Well done friend. 🥒🍅🍓🫐🥦
I think tuck is on a labor strike, he would like more help around the garden and more carrots oh and he mentioned he needs a vacation.
Tuck, that patty pan looks delicious. Grab me one next time. ❤️❤️❤️
Yes. 1 million. You rock!!!!!

Tuck✨✨💚❤️🧡💛
Go Tuck go! Haha 😂
I wanted to scream, Nooooo…don’t eat it raw!!! I never cared much for bitter melon until recently. Cut it thin and salt it to remove some of the bitterness. I like to sauté it until it’s a dull green and make a corn starch slurry with soy sauce for a light gravy. I’m actually growing these this year. Love for Tuck ❤️❤️❤️❤️
My wife uses bitter melon quite a bit in her cooking. Soaked for about 20 minutes in salt water before being sautéed with tomatoes, scrambled eggs, and some ground meat (usually pork). It's delicious, and good for you. Your pretty brave to eat it raw though!!
That's bitter gourd, full of nutrientional benefits, good for diabetic, here in the Philippines we cook that for our viand

Extraordinary! I love your enthusiasm for your amazing food forest and your harvests with Tuck make me smile. 🌞🐾
Love Tuck!!! Keep up the good work lita guy!!!
James, your abundant food forest shows that without a doubt those of us who have access to a small patch of land, or even pots on a terrace or balcony, can grow some good, clean food for ourselves. Maybe it's not practical to try to be self-sustaining, but every little bit helps to put us that more in control of what goes into the foods we eat. Thank you for your enthusiasm and for sharing your gardening skills with us. BTW, maybe Tuck needs a raise?
LOL! My dog is terrible chasing bunnies, I think Tuck does a better job than mine does. Raise for Tuckie!
Hi James, sending some hearts for Tuck💕💕💕💕💕💕
I keep seeing the bitter melons in the Baker Creek catalog and always chicken out , lol. Good for you for trying it!
James, we dedicated an area of approx. 15'x15' of our yard for the birds and squirrels. There is a bird bath and 6 different kinds of bird feeders. The animals do NOT bother our food garden. Just an idea. And we keep the bird bath in the shade so they don't get cooked. We change the water daily...just tip it and refill it.
Congrats James and family! It’s been one hell of a ride and you’ve changed the world more than you know! 1 million subs wohoooo! 🥳
I guess that's why it's called the Garden State. Very nice!
Yup 😂
James! Looking for the turquoise shirt you had in the last video. Are you keeping it to to yourself?😉😉
Not sure which one you are talking about. Last video I was wearing the “true royal triblend” summer grow shirt, it’s the unisex one. Hopefully that helps 😁
@@jamesprigioni that color is really nice, too! Thank you, sir. Appreciate your time 😁

Bitter melon is only good cooked with either pork or chicken and a soy sauce base. Heart ❤️ 💙 💜 for Tuck
The boss said: the bunny was so cute and cuddly :) Oh, and the bitter melon is delish in stir fries, zero bitterness.
I’m just amazed at how you grow those tomatoes with so little foliage. Amazing garden.
Tuck ❤️❤️❤️
I love Tuck because he is the boss just like James always is telling us. Im sure he knows what needs to be done about that Bunny. Overall as long as he can help sniff out the pests making problematic issues while he doses with a tasty snack from his garden. Thats why hes the boss.
James, real fantastic varieties of 🍅 tomatoes! Such an excellent garden you have. Hey Tuck !! 💙 Harvest time does make a gardener SING!! 🎶🌞🎉
A testament to the beauty of simple living. 🌱
James caused me to laugh when he cur the bitter melon to try, with great anticipation I was waiting gorgeous him to bite into it as I know how bitter it is. We cook this in the Caribbean and I live it!
So cute watching your excitement just like a kid!
❤️❤️❤️For the boss Tuck!❤️❤️❤️ Thanks for the great content!
The garden is looking fabulous. And as for the bunny… Tuck was looking for a friend 😎
James you need a gorilla cart for harvesting. I see you these small bowls and smile because we know that bowl won't hold all you have 😉

Cut those cukes and bring them to the food bank before they are ruined🦋🦋🦋
The bitter melon is used often in Indian and Caribbean cooking.
Amazing garden! That cabbage you cut open was beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Love the assistance the Boss gives! I appreciate the info on cucumber beatles.. I mulched my squash, watered as you instructed to. Now the blooms are massive and the bugs are gone! No more pulling my hair out!! You are the best!! Thank you!!
Love your garden! Your videos and of course Tuck ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love this so much!!! It's obvious to me that, not only do you grow for a yt channel, but you actually EAT the organic produce that you grow. You are whipcord lean and have energy levels through the roof! The way you describe the taste, texture and flavor of your fruit and veg can only come from a person who grows AND EATS whole organic foods. I can take your observations to the bank because you embody the health benefits of someone eating a vibrant diet of whole, organic produce. I have difficulty embracing some other channels that "talk the talk" but obviously don't "walk the walk". Well done.

My garden was awful this year , so disappointing. But watching flourishing food forest, gardens make me excited. Wow!!!
It has been a tough growing year to be honest, so don't get down on yourself. Next year will be much better 😁🐕❤️

Thank you so much ❤️ I love watching all your videos, thanks for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. You're very inspirational, full of energy and love. Yes, bitter melon is best eaten cooked especially with some beef as like a stew, or cooked into soup, it has lots of health benefits
I am blown away by your harvest!!! I’m in Florida and can’t grow anything!
Look into Shade cloth and soaker hose may help to adjust the environment

I just love watching your excitement while harvesting 😂❤. Sir, you should consider doing drop in home visits to your subscribers.
You can put an animal trap in you garden with one of your apples or whatever the bunny is eating cut up and it will catch the bunny. Then you can relocate it.
You can cook the bitter Melon with onions salt and turmeric powder. Cook untill soft
there are surely recipes for sour melon, but it sure was fun watching you eat it raw!
I love seeing and your boss Tuck so please make some more videos or films. For Tuck 💗💗💗💓💓💓💞💞💞💕💕💕
James… there are many Indian recipes of Bitter Melons. They taste delicious after like crisps!
This video is making me hungry for a nice tomato salad with balsamic vinegar and basil. Tuck is looking for his treat. Very jealous of your garden, thanks for sharing your knowledge !

One of the my favourite gardening channel your my friend 🥰🥰🥰💐
i love bitter melon with egg
I don't remember what Gardener said it : " I don't give some away because I grew too much, I grow too much so I can give some away." There must be neighbors or places where you can share that bounty if you have more than you can eat. I'd hate to see any of that beautiful produce go to waste. My Indonesian wife and her friends love bitter melon. Of course, they know how to prepare it. Maybe there's some Asian people in your community you could share them with rather than rot on the vine. I'm growing a different type of bitter melon and Asian long beans, among other things this year.😁
Local NJ news station reports James missing for days.... last seen 👀 going into the Food Forest. 😄
Wonderful as always 🎉🎉🎊🎊🙌🙌🙌🙌
James, your forest is growing an abundance of food. Every single crop looks amazing. If I can obtain half of what you have done it would be awesome. Bitter melon is a super food for summer, great for detox especially for our liver . We use it for soup or stir fry.
Hey James, when you were going to try the bitter melon I was shouting at my laptop screen saying
Don't do it!!!! haha! Trinidadians fry bitter melon with garlic and onions and seasonings to make it taste better. It's still bitter even after all that lol! Hearts for Tucky❤🧡💖💛💗💚💓💙💞💜💕🤎
