  • Our Power Wagon is currently equipped with the King Shocks 2.5" Pintop kit from Carli Suspension after having previously sat on the 3.0" version of the King kit. We ventured out to Overland Expo and got a chance to have an extended camping trip exploring in and around Sedona and sharing our thoughts on these two systems and how they differ. Stay tuned for a more in depth dive as we've got a full on head to head comparison video in the works as well.

    If you're able to review the Belltech Trail Performance height adjustable coilovers for the Bronco it be great to see how wellthe helper spring andadjustable sway bar work . Thx !

      Definitely something we have considered, but just based on specs, we are not quite sure it is someting it is fair for us to test now that our Bronco is on 37s. They are twin tubes so although the body size may lead you to believe they can perform better than they do, their actually using a smaller piston than just about everything else at their price point. We had a whole host of issues with dribbling and poor performance running the Eibachs which use a similar sized piston, so we have not been gung ho to test something we know is going to be equally overwhelmed by the heavy tires we are running.

    Great review...appreciate you're feedback. Very insightful and informative. Are the king 2.5s carli specd in valving? Or off the shelf king valving? Thanks

      These have the Carli Spec valving used on their Pin Top kits however from what we have seen, their valving does not end up feeling too far off of the off-the-shelf options from King. If I remember correctly, the big difference is Carli specs the lengths slightly differently to pair with their kits.

      @ShockSurplus you noted not far off then off the shelf kings....does that mean Carli spec is slightly better?

      We would have to pull the valve stacks to give you exact details, but the Carlis feel like they have a little more low speed compression than an off the shelf King, so they seem to have a little less sway but may not quite have the same level of small bump sensitivity.

    Nice we like the power wagon content. How are the 2.5 compared to the fox with no reservoir?
    How much different from stock?

      going from stock bilstein on 33s to Carli with Fox 2.0 on 37s was a massive difference, the tires added some cushion for sure, but the suspension felt like it would finally move and give where needed. The stock setup felt like the truck was a sports car (great for some, and even me in another life).
      The king 2.5s feel tighter than the Fox 2.0, about as much give on compression, but tighter rebound, haven't confirmed this through dyno yet though (hopefully soon). The Kings are sharper than people expect, i expected it though, and appreciate it due to the frequent loads this truck carries around the country. Might not even go back to the 3.0s, and instead go to the E-Venture kit.

      @@ShockSurplus so 2.0s fox and 2.5 king are both better than stock especially when it comes to plushness and still good handling on the road king 3.0 it’s too plush in your opinion for the road and daily driving with trailers loads etc.?
      With king 2.5 better then fox 2.0 in everything.

    Hey Shock Surplus, I was wondering if you could do a video on the 2023 Nissan Titan pro-4x. There's no a lot of info about what suspensions will fit it. I have a 2023 Nissan Titan pro-4x and was wondering if the 6112/5160's would fit it?

    • @ShockSurplus
      @ShockSurplus  9 місяців тому +2

      If we get a Titan in for an install we might shoot it, but we have not had anybody reach out to us to get anything done. Bilstein does not make 6112s for the application, but they do have 6100s which are the same 2.6" diameter body, they just require you to reuse the stock springs. Give us a holler directly on our site and we can get you set up www.shocksurplus.com/pages/contact-us
