The question is SHOULD you pin a boutonniere on a dress shirt? I think not. If the event is casual enough to forgo the jacket, forgo the bout as well.
well im going to homecoming so thats a situation where you would where it with a dress shirt wothout a jacket

is there a correct height for placing the boutonniere or it is just preference? I once did it pretty at the same level as my pocket square.
I do think that that the most balance position is in the middle of the top of the tie and pocket square.
How do you prevent the pin from poking you when moving around?
