And last I checked, They all hold shares within the game, all 32 or 33 percent of shares of all three companies. The truth that nobody wants to hear is that there is no reason. Some guy at the top was upset or just bored, and did it out of pure power and goofery.
Deep down, you know it's true. It's how all this companies really operate. They do whatever they want to do.
its just pure retaliation after palworld took over the gaming landscape and only now action is taken because presumably they cant legally do anything about palworld so they go after the people who promoted the game
Japanese have stricter copyright laws and companies over there sue anything US fan-made.
It is to the point I believe all copyrights violations that come from Japan should be voided or atleast taken to US Soil because they are just known for bullying people

Gotta love how much the Pokemon Company hates its own consumer base with such burning passion.
Pokemon has already been going down hill the last few gens. They don't need this added to their failures.
In Japan, there is no such thing as fair use. IRL streams are dangerous, because if somebody comes out and says they didn't consent to being recorded, that can end the channel instantly. I think Nintendo as a Japanese company is trying to use what power they have in Japanese courts on people across the world. I'm no expert, but I did a bit of reading.

Older videos should not be allowed to be copyright claimed since statue of limitations periods would of been expired.

Your last point is interesting. I wanted to present pokemon to my little brother, but I'm so disappointed with the franchise and I don't want him to like it and get disappointed when he grows up as well.
If I remember correctly, It’s fair use if it’s unique gameplay. So Basically, Pokémon is breaking the law.
ah yes, Coppiritestryker, my favorite Pokémon.
I adore the world of Pokemon, I hate the company.
Remember they consider nuzelocks (which traditionally doesn't even alter the game's code in anyway) modded gameplay.
Yes, self-imposed challenges that don't even alter the game's code are not safe because players aren't playing the game in the intended way.
What is the intended way to interact with an interactive piece of media even if we decided not to alter it's code?
They can't even keep their officially licensed game guides accurate. I don't even know if they published guides for the newer games. Don't even get me started on the moves and item descriptions that straight up lie or fails to properly inform the player exactly what it does.
It's not like we should expect much from a company that doesn't even know how to properly organize a tournament to stop players from using cheated in Pokémon. Which the players should do, because it's pay-to-win or at the very least an overly complicated time sink. All they had to do is give the players a rental team considering players already submit their team in advance to the tournament organizers.
How hard can it be to make an officially licensed Showdown for competitive players to use for tournaments? They already made the Stadium games, this is the most logical way to expand upon the concept.
I just got an ad for a Pokémon Minecraft mod on a video talking about Pokémon with Minecraft gameplay in the background
This 1 dislike was most likely provided by a Pokémon Company Employee, or a Stan.
The employees making a paycheck have nothing to do with this. It's the higher ups.
Weird way to call a pal, "poke-mon" ?
Considering the legal system, there’s a dicey take on games modding as free expression of creativity, but we’re starting to see lines drawn in the sand. Another reminder to back up your videos and files… the probability of getting snitched is now bigger than years past.
It took me way to long to realize what Optimus was building in this B-roll.

Again? And for mods made almost a decade ago? I feel like every year, some company who has a stake in the Pokemon franchise gets all mad when creators talk about Pokémon, play Pokémon games or games with Pokémon mods, or even write Pokémon fanfics on UA-cam. Them striking these channels without any real reason doesn’t help them at all. It only makes them look greedy or petty.

I see it from their respective, they don't want Pokémon associated with guns
and if it really was Call of Duty zombies but with Pokémon I totally get where they're coming from
to be honest, neither do I, I couldn't care less about people adding Pokémon to a game to shot at them

I really miss the gameboy/OG DS pokemon days ive seen vids on the new pokemon games all the new features dont really appael to me at all
Look buy shares in the pokemon company and Nintendo, they copywrite your vids have a lawyer write them a letter as a shareholder/owner you can do what you want with "your" company property.
the ownership of Pokemon is split between Nintendo, creatures inc and game freak, game freak and creatures inc are the ones that made the Pokemon company with some funding and help by Nintendo but Nintendo is completely hands-off with Pokemon and let's game freak and creatures inc deal with everything Pokemon related, also, the Pokemon company is only responsible for translating the games and tcg into different languages, dubbing the anime into different languages, overall merchandise distribution worldwide and giving Pokemon their names outside of Japan for the rest of the world, so it's just game freak and creatures inc that are in charge of Pokemon overall
This is really strange considering how just the other day, Alpharad mentioned that they were perfectly fine with mods. At least when he was playing them so... what happened?
Is it cause it's a mod for another game or something and not a Pokémon game? Is it favoring certain UA-camrs or streamers? I have no idea...
probably because it's a mod for COD Zombies
And this is why we don't feel bad for pirating Nintendo games
Exactly
I'm so tired of people not understanding how copyrighted works actually function. Pokemon is one hundred percent in the wrong and are leveraging the tools that favor large corporations to strongarm smaller entities. Anyone can argue those videos are transformative, no one is claiming their copyrighted material as their own by playing pokemon-cod-zombies. But to do so is to take it all to court, and small groups can't fight that.
It's just a shame there's not a class action lawsuit or SLAP equivalent for the damages to the lost time and accounts (and livelihood) interruption these people endure under a broken and biased system. Pokemon has no legs to stand on in trying to claim some random youtuber playing a game they didn't make is costing them money in any regard. It's just an attempt at a more powerful company trying to control the optics of their IP even when it's in clear parody grounds.
Not that it matters, I've long since written off pokemon as worth my time given their and nintendo's anticonsumer history
I ate some bomb taco bell rn and smoked some cali green.
Well this is BS.
They need to stop this nonsense their doing to creators.
Not only this but Nintendo taking down yuzu recently only points towards one thing, a new Nintendo announcement coming soon
Seriously, everytime Nintendo goes on a war path on taking down things an announcement of theirs is soon to follow
Optimus, is it possible to challenge a copyright strike?
This happens every so often, Nintendo/the pokémon company is such a soy boy about their copyright that they will do everything in there power to make sure their properties are untouched
technically still nintendo at the end of the day as nintendo owns the pokemon company
I guess they want Pokemon to die, cause between this and half-baked game releases, I think it's about to be on it's way out.
You really wish. It's not going anywhere whether you want it or not. It's still one of the most popular ips in the world. Palworld isn't gonna last.
Nah. It makes a lot of money.

I've played pokemon hacks that are on YT, links included on the vids, where they've taken old games and literally programmed new games and distributed them for free. Like I've played 100s and no ones ever had issues with copyright etc.
It's weird that they'd go after this 😂😂
because it's a mod for COD Zombies
The one big like ROFL move would be delete the video but then reupload it unlisted and just have the old videos then as a hidden archived content for the fans its like if you still get copyright struck at least you can have at the end of the day knowledge that if its a mega corp that did it they probably wasted a few thousand dollars on what chasing an archived unlisted video. XD. And its kinda proof that at the end of the day that the company doesn't actually care about their IP's if they are that desperate to burn cash.
This why I despite Nintendo company, they have so much good IP and everything but just money hunger and garbage of a company
