Crazy how a 15 year old is the one granting hacks to them. Apex has some of the worst hacking incidents I've seen.

The craziest part is that after it happened once we were told we had to play more games. I was genuinely scared to keep playing and they were just hoping it would randomly stop.
EA/Respawn were too busy with selling expensive skins, they never cared about hacking & cheating in Apex Legends.
The crazy part is the person already took the responsibility of it and Respawn made a statement that the tournament is postponed until further notice

Hacker that gifts people loot boxes for free might be the best way to fight EA's greed.
“I’m getting hacked”
This is something that happened with plants vs zombies garden warfare, people were given exploits, others got their whole ea account banned. I think ea genuinely is hacked and they just don't want to admit it
the titanfall 2 incident has come back to haunt us in Apex now
Fortunately for the players, the hacker did probably the least damaging thing as well as made it known they were hacked. Could have stolen their browser sessions and potentially lose their various accounts (nothing stopping them), could have installed ransomware and other loggers and junk (could be in hibernation tho), and other malicious actions... I hope they are wiping out those computers, who knows how far they have been compromised.

Not shocked it happened. As we move and more to "cloud" based computing expect to see more exploits like this in future. Anyone that was impacted should def check their system for anything sus apps or serviced running in background.
