I have follicular. My symptoms are fatigue, constant body aches, lumps that are visible in my neck, breathlessness, etc. I just turned 20, it is quite scary but I really appreciate creators who speak about their experience! It makes me feel less alone. My doctors have brushed me off for over a year until my biopsy was ran through AFIRMA. It’s so easy for doctors to misdiagnose it as anxiety and hypothyroidism!

I had thyroid cancer when I was 41. They took out half and found the cancer. A few months later I had the other half removed then I had radioactive iodine treatment. This was in 1995. For me it has been a wild ride. God bless.

you had wonderful doctors! I had a hard lump for 4 years, that doctors didnt even bother checking as they couldn't feel it. "just normal, maybe a cold. So I went on, feeling it there for ages until my lymph nodes swelled up and I had trouble swallowing. I had a small child by that time. and finally I got diagnosed, and I was not surprised. I had stage 4 of the same type. had 8 years of surgeries and radiation treatments, told I had maybe 3 years to live. well that was 2004. take care, and its never a "good cancer" but you got this! one time they lost my paperwork for treatment too. and were going to discharge me by mistake. always keep up with whats going on. never assume no news is good news.

I feel bad for you, your story is terrible. This is why we need to be our own advocate. Don't allow your doctor to ignore your findings or concerns.
This is how people get a higher stage by ignoring a lump.
      Take care and be well.

I had a total thyroid removal and RAI and been on thyroid meds ever since and will be on them for the rest of my life. I was 44 when I got the diagnosis two years prior my mum passed and the following year so did my dad. It’s now twelve years since my surgery I am cancer free and I see my endo every year to check my levels. I was told then it’s important to see a endocrinologist for future follow ups rather than a GP because there are certain levels of thyroid hormones only a specialist can safely prescribe for post cancer patients. I forgot to mention earlier on I too had papillary cancer on both lobes. After surgery and treatment things got eventually normal with the exception of daily thyroid medication and yearly appointments. I wish you all the best and please don’t worry thyroid cancer is very curable and you will be cancer free in no time 💕🦋

I'm really pulling for you. I lost my mother to cancer, & it's something I really, really hate with a passion. I'm glad yours is so treatable! Best of luck going forward. Hello Maggie! Hugs and more power to you! I lost a parent in Jan'20 and was diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma in October '20. Underwent a total thyroidectomy with excision of multiple lymph nodes 14 days post my diagnosis. The histopathology report confirmed metastasis I'm lymph nodes far more than what the doctors had anticipated. Underwent radioiodine treatment 3 weeks post discharge. This was followed by Extra Beam Radiation Therapy (30sessions). I was on nasogastric feeding for 37 days. I was hoping against hope that I didn't have to go through Radiation treatment but my doctors sat me down and assured me that it was the best way to bring down the recurrence rate from 10% to 0.01%. It was hellish but I completed it. My doctors were my rock. They held my hand throughout the course of the treatment and never made me feel like a patient. Grateful to my surgeons, radiation oncologists, mum, family members and my entire support system. It's not the end of the world. It brings out the fighter in you.

I have had no recurrence. I am really happy about it and it is very treatable and common. I do take bloodwork to check the thyroid level in 6 months to one year. I am a positive person like you. Hey I will tell you what the healthcare people won't, don't be afraid to make plans if everything turns out okay. I didn't make any plans, and after I lived through my medical apocalypse, suddenly I realized I should have had more faith in myself.
God is always with you, even if you cannot see his plan clearly. I accused him of betraying me while I was sick, not knowing he was protecting me the whole time from something much worse.
    Good luck.

To everyone reading this Please turn to Jesus He loves you very much, He is the God of miracles, i was ill for a long time, but the doctors couldn't really help me, i don't blame them there was only so much that they could of done for me, Then Jesus gave me a miracle and healed me, There is Hope in Jesus, God has done amazing things in my life and in the life's of people i know and love, He can do the same for you and yours, When you need Him call on Him, The bible tells us in Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, He is the God of comfort and will be there for you when you call on Him, God saved someone i love from an illness leading to death, There is nothing impossible to God, Its as simple as asking Jesus into your heart and life to be your personal Lord and Savior, Confess your sins to Jesus and Jesus will forgive you, And if you truly seek Him Jesus will answer you, i know this because He answered me when i called out to Him,

There is no such thing as good cancer. Please just keep up with your follow ups after you surgery because you will have to be monitored for the rest of your life so that if the cancer does come back they catch in time. Your story resonates with me so so much. My father passed away 3 months ago, he had prostate cancer and it was very aggressive. I finally got my diagnosis a month ago and am freshly out of surgery. I suspected it's thyroid cancer for about a year now, so it wasn't that much of a shock to get the confirmation. It's PTC and I know I will be okay, still I can't press how difficult it is to get a cancer diagnosis just after a loved one passed away from it. Thank you for sharing your story and making me feel less alone in this

I had a type of thyroid cancer, and I had one that isn't common. Felt like someone was choking me. It was a cancerous nodule. 2 surgeries and the radioactive iodine and isolation. I have been cancer free about 5.5 years. Best wishes for healing. I feel like with thyroid cancer people think it is a breeze compared to other cancers....it depends what type of thyroid cancer you have. Cancer is hard, it creates fear and anxiety. I ended up going to the hospital and not leaving until over 30 days later. I so believe attitude is 60 percent of the battle. No sadness or tears were allowed in my room. If you had to cry you had to leave. It ended up being stage 3b I was told to get my affairs in order. I said nope I’m going to be just fine. And I do believe it was meant to be, because the rest of my family went and got colonoscopies and they had polops that were removed and lucky they were they could have ended up being cancerous. It has now been 10 years and I’m still kicking.

I was found to have this type of cancer at 21 and had a total thyroidectomy at 22. I am 32 now and no troubles really. Just regular ultrasounds for the first 7 years to monitor it. Now just go for my appointments for medication maintenance annually. Hoping you have a positive outcome as well with your experience.

I know u had made ur comment 3yrs ago but I just found her channel and am 2yrs out from my last surgery for my thyroid cancer and my body is just not getting used to not having a thyroid and I also have thyroid autoimmune disorders, both me and my son are part of the lucky like 6% of people who get both Graves disease and Hashimotos thyroiditis he's more Graves im more Hashimotos and I was told by them taking out my cancer which I had 3 different mutations of papillary cancer they said my symptoms would go away from the autoimmune disorders but they haven't at all, I know this cancer won't kill me but with my symptoms I feel like I'm dead cause I can't do anything and I gained weight and was already over weight before my diagnosis and I'm at my breaking point so I was wondering if you could explain to me what u meant by recommending Gerson? I need help to get my life back and I'm at a loss cuz my insurance won't help me see a dietitian or any dr to help with my weight cuz im on medicad state insurance which sucks and I don't hv enough energy to get a job that is good enough to get better insurance so I'm on my own and I also don't hv any family or friends to support me in anyway at all, im just desperately wanting my life back so if u can explain what that means I'd really appreciate it!!!? Thank you

I was told that I had the "best cancer" that a person could have. How can a Dr. use the word "best" and "cancer" in the same sentence? He also told me that It really didn't matter if I got it removed because thyroid cancer was the slowest growing cancer. He then gave me the choice of getting my thyroid removed or not. I, of course, got my thyroid removed by a different Dr. I have to say that some of the best moments of my life were when I went out in public with the three-inch fresh incision on the front of my neck. It looked like I had my throat slashed. The looks I got!

Virtually nobody has to die from cancer anymore, if it is diagnosed in time and treated according to science. This is even true for me with one of the very few remaining incurable cancers. With appropriate treatment and medication, I can live a good life with it for 20 years or more now, what would have killed me in months 20 years ago.

I noticed a lump on my throat so i decided to have it checked out. Ultrasound shows i have 4 nodules and 2 are suspicious so they wanted me to get a biopsy. One is TR3 and the other one is TR5. Now while waiting for the schedule for the biopsy from the clinic, I am sitting here at home terrified. My doc told me the same thing, it is curable so I dont have to worry., but I cant stop myself from being so scared. I am praying that I have the curable type if ever I do have thyroid cancer. I am grateful that I found your video, it makes me feel that I am not alone in this journey. The hardest part is not knowing, I pray this will be over soon.

A lump was found on my thyroid in 1970,and for the first 6 years i just took meds, then i got to where it was affecting my swallowing, and it was like i had a frog in my throat all the time..
The doctors decided at that point to go in and remove the lump, this was in 1976.Surgery was done, and they did find cancer. But the doc told me it was very slow growing and that i would die from something else before i died of that cancer.Oh at that time they had removed the right side of the thyroid, scraped the isthmus, and removed a 1/3 of the left.
I recovered from that and almost 20 years to the day,may of 1996.We found that the left side was growing, same symptoms as before,so back to surgery i went to have the remaining thyroid removed,i recovered from that surgery as well. Here we are 24 years later and i'm still fine, have to take that little pill every morning of levothyroxin, but it's kept me going with no side affects of any kind.I'm now 82,so hang in there, this too shall pass, and you'll be fine.
Looking back i also know at the time i was diagnosed, they really hadn't been dealing with a lot of thyroid issues, not like now..Sending up prayers and good thoughts for you.Stay safe and think positive thoughts.

At 38 and with 3 teenagers..going through a bad divorce I felt a lump in my breast showering before going to work. To make the story short I was told it was 99.9,% that it was cancer. I was booked in for surgery. I had two colleagues who had breast cancer. One very ill and the other recovering. As I was the third one it was suspicious and the office was checked out. The girl who was recovering told me what to expect after surgery including tubes etc. When I woke up I had no tubes and asked the nurse why. Don't you remember we told you it's not cancer! Wow! Now aged 70 I have a nodule on my thyroid which is undetermined. I'm just deciding on my treatment.

I have been able to shrink my tumors and they are shrinking more every day (by leaps and bounds). At this rate they should completely disappear within the next couple of months. I was diagnosed with a stage 4 Her2 positive breast cancer (fairly fast moving) and Chemo is not the answer for most cancers, there is a much better way -- most people do not survive it long term and hundreds are curing themselves naturally.

Maggie, if you want to help others who are looking for help after being diagnosed with cancer or a afraid to get such a diagnosis, please block all those spam comments which try to sell herbal or other "unconventional" treatments to cure cancer. in your comments Those people do kill cancer patients for profit.
You have a very good prognosis! I wish you all the best with your treatment and a quick recovery.

And Thyroid replacement hormone is well tolerated, not expensive and highly effective It can take a couple of tries to get the dosage right but once you do you re usually set for life. You just will have to take that pill EVERY day, and never miss a day

What were the measurements of your nodules? How many lymph nodes did they took out? Was your surgeon an ent or oncologist. Sorry for all this questions. I was diagnosed with a nodule in 2013,they will ultrasound each year. 10 years later, exactly one week ago,had a partial thyrodectomy, and pathology confirmed variant papillary carcinoma, also says follicular. ENT did a biopsy, but came up neoplasm,so ent did not know it eas cancer. He told me it was a size of a golf bad,2 tumors in left side, one tumor inside each other,1st tumor 3.9cm,2nd tumor almost 3cm. He only took 5 lymph nodes, but had this tumors for 10 years, they waited until it grew to a golf ball. So he ask me if I wanted to get the other side remove,or to monitor if cancer comes back. So we decided to monitor. I'm just worried cause what if it spread to other lymp nodes, cause I had this for 10 years. And Dr,found out it was cancer afyer surgery, because of pathology report. I have children, and my youngest is 2 years old. What kind of surgeon did your surgery? How many lymph nodes did you got removed? What where the measurements of your nodules.? Hoping you answer,my surgery was a week ago,and after surgery dr found it was cancer,he did not know.
