Check out ultraman rising !!!!
After watching this episode I felt how DC could have got a biggest villain superman . Homelander and superman have a lot in common the difference is upbringing superman got a actual loving family where Homelander got torture. How different could the boys universe be if Homelander got a loving family instead
Give Antony his Emmy already...
Preach
They won't. Hollywood is mad the boys make fun of them and their favoured actors
Cover him in every acting award there is.
That’s criminal he hasn’t won yet
@@arcanevi4477who cares about hollywood (yes, with a small h)?
Seeing homelander smile or laugh is even more scary than him doing the actual killing 😂😂
Deadass 😭
no. You are talking about a singular or low body count. He wouldn't be laughing while wiping the crowds, he would do that in a serious demeanor, that or being pissed off. It's terrifying when more lives are at stake, and terrifying is usually always > scary
Yea man. Homelander was definitely the scariest he has ever been in this show.
It's sooo unsettling 😅..
@@Eh.........homelander would definetly be maniacally laughing while slaughtering people
Best episode since Herogasm. Everyone was on point this episode, even Hughie lool. And what a performance by Antony Starr. He continues to impress. It's the fact that we know Homelander is going to kill all those people, yet the unpredictability of when and what he's going to do is what keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Yeah hughies story this season wasn't landing as quite until this episode
Yeah I was so proud of hughie and starlight 😂 like yes finally they don't get owned
this was even better than herogasm for me, huge episode for the plot
I think Herogasm is way better than this episode
So amazing how Firecracker quickly manipulated her supporters by saying that she asked for forgiveness and "her sins were washed away".
- Great example of public figure hypocrisy and corresponding worship of that public figure.
All thanks to Starlight
She created her
@@EM-tx3lyStarlight was 13, lol. Firecracker is a grown up now and is responsible for her own decisions.
Yup
@@EM-tx3lylmao no, firecracker created herself. That's like saying the art school that didn't accept h1tler as a student created him.
Use ur brain
@@wiseguy01I guess this the excuse that every one will have that she was 13 that's so stupid!!
Whoever thinks S4 is a letdown compared to previous seasons is completely delusional. Episode 4 is the proof. Fookin diabolical!
I think cuz of Frenchie
@@85GauravSinghand the bad writing
I enjoyed it before and I'm not enjoying it now, that's all I need to know.
Episode 4 was awesome, the first 3, not so much.
@@synical13 why arent you enjoying it now? do you even have a legitimate reason?
I don't agree that Homelander wanted to kill his humanity. This happened a long time ago - for example when he allowed these people to die in a plane crash and other murders. Homelander returned home to destroy everything that had held him in check for years - not the need to be loved, but the trauma of his childhood. By murdering his tormentors, he cut himself off from his childhood and what limited him.
that need to be loved It is what was left of his humanity, in the previous chapter he said it clearly that it was at the beginning to transcend his humanity by getting rid of those human needs such as being recognized or loved.
Humanity is more than positive things. His trauma is part of his humanity. Also, it was made clear in the last episode that he does feel that his need for approval/love holds him back.
I think Homelander left Barbara alive because she already admits that they have no physical prowess against him, and they use psychology to control him. So he left her alive alone locked in the bad room to drive her crazy.
Dam so she is gonna die there? Unless someone miraculously come and saves her
@@aaronbamidele8073 yeah, but most likely no one, cause I believe Homelander wipe everyone in that building
@michaelchristopher1426 plus he welded the bolts to the door shut
And how is she gonna stay alive in that room genius
She's gonna starve to death there
I think Achara is correct that the parasite did something like maybe the compound V gave his cancer a physical form, and now it's like a Venom thing, which reminds me of an episode of The Boys: Diabolical. It was the anime one where an old man who was a janitor at Vought stole some Compound V and gave it to his wife because she was dying of stomach cancer. It gave her cancer a physical form, and it became a monster trying to absorb everything.
Yea i think it would be more like a venom thing now , butcher did take v so we can say that his cancer + V + his visions about becca , all happen because now he might have developed a split personality that brings out the worst in him and probably has some superpowers . Butcher was about to die here , before that thing activated and he/it probably killed that thing. Boys also doesn't weirdly have a venom counterpart so this may fill the void
I think it's like the villain BloodWork from The Flash TV series. He also had cancer and made some cure, and the cancer took a physical form and started absorbing everything
Yeah written by Andy Samberg
Now looking back it makes sense that they are calling it "black tumor" in his brain instead of just tumor, it hints that black symbiote color of Venom.
@@manavkhandurie3591just like moon knight 🤣
If you saw The Boys: Diabolical, one of the canon episodes to the prime adaptation showcases a cancer-ridden old woman nearly on her deathbed, leading to her husband trying to save her using Compound V. The effects cause her cancer to mutate into an eldritch-like creature hellbent on absorbing any living being in sight.
So the idea of a mutated cancer parasite in Butcher akin to Eddie Brock/Venom wouldn't be far-fetched.
I just realized...A-Train might die or end up running away from Homelander next episode. Because his fingerprints are on the jar. Ashley or A-Train may end up dead soon.
Why would he run fingerprints on his pube jar
or he can smell him in his room
@@Francis... A-Train touched a lot of things in his room.
completion of his redemption arc most definitly ends in his death, probably coming in clutch to save one of the boys
@@Michalswiersz I forgot that Homelander has super smell even though its shown just about everytime he's in an episode
I hope Ashley and A Train don't die :[
okay no debate, homelander is the greatest villian of all time. I was hesitant to say this because of how much I love Vader and Heath ledger's joker, but wow anthony deserves all the awards. Fuck emmy give him an oscar 😂😂
I for one feel no sympathy for those doctors. Like, yeah, the kid you purposefully inflicted trauma upon for their entire lives comes back with vengeance. Should've been humane and raised him like an actual child
His powers are basically similar to Venom except the parasite controls him
the first time i watched this i thought, "huh, barbara witnessing her colleagues get killed seems not as brutal as the other guys HL killed", then i saw the lasered hinges, and realized that because they are in a top secret facility, she will be trapped there until she died, surrounded by mangled corpses... and that F*Cked me up, i had to take a break after that
If I were starlight, I would have gotten rid of all of the electricity in the area before and during the event to stop that crap
Starlight wasn’t thinking straight that was personal firecracker 🧨
No one thinks ahead like that unless you have trained yourself to do so under duressed situations. Think of any fight or argument you have gotten into with someone that touched a nerve. No matter how big or small the situation you always wind up thinking what could I have done better because you only reacted.
There still would have been dozens of witnesses. The power outage and the fact that she was across the street would have only served as more proof.
The origin story of homelander ripping his moms guts and coming out flying
Was actually the origin story of ryan (homelanders son) in the comics he tears Rebecca (butchers wife) guts and comes out flying
It's a very cool nod
Since they changed ryans origin, they gave his original comic origin to homelander
Man we've come a long way, from Hughie, Frenchie and Butcher losing their marbles at the sound of Homelander flying by when they had Translucent locked up, to all of this.
When Homelander asks you to "come here for a second", it must feel like an eternity
I gotta hand it to Sister Sage, her plan is beautifully diabolical in its design and execution.
And we found her weakness. Her brain grows
there is no way she could have predicted Starlight's outburst. She has the writer's notes.
Yea. Starlight played right into her hands. Kinda silly. She knows tv cameras were there. Why not short them out first? Dumb move on the writers part.
Its all about to be derailed. Homelander trancended his need for love.
He no longer needs sage.
@@justinarmetta3367she was mad asf i don’t think she was thinking clearly
The Parasite in butcher was just protecting its host.
I wonder if butcher gave his tumor super powers… like dude took V with a tumor and his brain and now the tumor is this creature
Or Newman was just hiding out of sight and blew him up.
@@rastiga9196nah they definitely would have showed her
Shower Antony Starr in every single award imaginable. Nobody is giving the performance he is on tv. No one. He’s on another level. Parts like Homelander don’t come around every day for actors & Antony understood the assignment!!! 👏 👏
Homelander really nailed that joker laugh this episode.
Homelander let her live because she is standing up against him. He wants enemies. He wants the "approval" to be the Best, and you cant get approved from a good but dead enemy. Its what they planted into him. Antony Starr is just perfect for the role. Great acting, really great Episode overall.
Usually when reactors are like “this was so disturbing” I’m like “MAN UP!” But I can’t even front I was finding it hard to keep looking at the tv during the laughing homelander scene. That was messed up
Homelander in this episode was even more terrifying than normal, like mentioned in the post discussion, the terror is you know who he is and why he's there so your just waiting, "sort yourself out or ill laser it off" while laughing was beyond terrifying
Firecracker is somewhat correct about Starlight she still gives this mean girl attitude
It's the Ozempic and the buccal fat removal. Makes one look extra stern.

hughie deciding to not give his dad the v reminds me of spiderman ps4 ending
Same
Exactly
That's a good reference
Somehow I knew that his mother would do the exact same thing
Finally Simon Pegg will have something to do in the show time for him to shine now
If he survives though
Im with Ahara, Billy defo has a parasite, like Venom, it needs its host, and will do what it has to to survive.
"I like to explore a womans whole body.." - Jaby.. "Since when??" -Achara's look lol
the story homelander tells about his birth was taken from the comics version of becca's final moments as homelander's baby prematurely erupted from her. butcher was present and he managed to beat the newborn to death.
The boys series without Homelander is like human without a heart...
If we ask about the boys series to the audience, Literally Homelander comes to everyone's mind even ppls love or hate him ...may be soldier boy and butcher after that....
Whatever, Homelander becomes the trademark of the boys and it cannot denied even by haters
That’s why HL must have the best exit of this show ever
If not an anticlimax
You know
DIABOLICAL
Homelander is one of those characters that you love to hate. He is absolutely the worst but he keeps the show interesting 😂
He and Butcher both. The show doesnt work as good as it does without either of them. Sure it would still be fun . But its stellar when both of those dudes are on screen.
@@BiLLz66614 100percent but Frency is my favourite character in the entire show.
@@doorattachment6926Frenchie was good until he was gay, Butcher was good until he was cucked, Hughie was always an effeminate bitch, starlight deserved worse than r8pe for killing the baby and Soldier Boy and Homelander are the true heroes of the show
I think butcher also. Only these two makes this RepeatativeShow interesting, soldierBoyToo.
I just realised.. if the book tht flipped pages when A train arrived.. if homelander actually notices it n if he remembers it been closed then some ppl are gonna get in trouble
I immediately thought of that.
Do homelander don't allow cleaners in his room or he himself does his room cleaning
Best episode so far 🔥🔥😈
Homelander is the most terrifying villain in cinema history
give Antony his emmy
Honestly, Firecracker gives a good justification for the tension of distaste towards Starlight. And Sage, after being lobotomized... and just to get Deep to like her... which frankly she does, giving a level of complexity to the character. Because he can't stand being very smart all the time!
Starlight 13
She's doing it so she can escape her smart brain and just chill. Doesn't seem to be a way to get Deep to like her so much as so she can tolerate him. When she's smart, she said he disgusts her.
@@that.ll_do_pigThroughout all the seasons Deep is just a punching bag for everyone else to pour there anger and agendas on him
So cool that they did a Carvel cake. Those are popular in the Northeast.
It's like a dairy queen except really good.
I thought it looked pretty good at the beginning..
What does it taste like?
Ice-Cream, or cake or BOTH??
Homelander still has some humanity left in him cause of his son. If anything happens to his son or Butcher separates them...Homelander will go all Berserk.
His reflections keep telling him ge has to get rid if that but if humanity.....
He's gonna kill Ryan to become marble
Humanity isn't just positive things, his cruelty, hatred and insecurity are all part of it, he can never not be human and he knows it.
I think homelander will kill Ryan by himself that's a strong hunch..
Anttony starr really nailed this episode as homelander. He truly is the perfect casting. Hope he gets his award.🔥
Definitely see an Emmy for Antony Starr coming. He absolutely killed it (no pun intended) in this one episode.
I bet when butcher shot up with V, the parasite is the thing that got powers instead of him. Now it’s just protecting the host.
Also, I called it about her wanting a lobotomy.
It's funny because twice Achara says her theory about Butcher and then Jaby says no and proceeds to say the same thing lol
You're both right, Butcher has powers in the form of a parasite (aka his tumor)
This episode is the best in the series , better than 3 previous episodes before. Most people will praised anthony starr but no one said anything about jack quaid's acting . I mean , not only his character Hughie developed more in this episode, but we can totally can feel the thrill and emotion just from his face.
This episode is the first time I look away during sage eye scene
33:26 it’s less plausible that in sudden moments of rage, you have the ability to be both logical and strategic to do the thing that you’re asking “why didn’t she do xyz?”
They didn't just out Starlight, they took one of the most personal choices she ever made, a decision that very clearly was a struggle for her to make.... And weaponized it. It's embarrassment, yes... But it's also all being used to specifically shame her in front of everyone.
It's the game they play. They air out other peoples private info and bad deeds for 3 seasons and she expects none of the villains to eventually do the same to her? It was like last season when they were moralizing temp v killing them when every episode they risk death. Comes with the territory
Did that get mentioned last season or was it just made up for this one so kripke can force his agenda
She deserves it. She proved herself not to be a hero after all and the world now knows it
She's still a baby killer tho.
@@ErrolMorris_enjoyeryeah, and who's making that known to the entire world? A literal now self-admitting pedo! Sorry, but I fail to see your point, if you have one. Did she abort a baby? Yes. In a world in which she and the baby's father are actively trying to fight against an evil organization that is headed by a group of psycho superpowerd people hellbent on destroying them in every single way possible, you're still suggesting that in THAT world, she still should've birthed and raised that baby? All the while living with the knowledge that hurting her child would be the ultimate way to hurt her and Hughie?
Ok. I respect your stance on that. I respectfully disagree, but it is admirable that, even after 3 seasons of insanity that we've seen, you would still think that having a kid in that universe would be a good idea.
Like Marvel shows. Episode 4...always ends up becoming the best and terrifying episode that elevates everyone's love and madness!💀 And here Anthony's work has been recognized...and he should be nominated for an Emmy.👏👏👏
“I think it’s a Parasite”
I think you might be right, My theory is that it’s a Parasite that’s been dosed with V after butcher took some 4 months ago, and is now Protecting its host while also slowly killing him, and it only comes out when butcher is in a Life or Death situation. Also, I think it’s Communicating with Butcher through Becca’s Voice and Form.
“You’re one of the good ones” is so crazy 😂
Yep Firecracker is openly racist.
Annie's character did a 180 flip and I guess Sage got the writers' scriptnotes.
Every character has their breaking point
The more you realize what Homelander went through, the more sense he makes. The wildest thought is that Ryan is really the last vestige of his manufactured need for love and approval and if Ryan ever does a clean break - Homelander will destroy everything.
Rewatching the scene of Butcher kill that guy made me think he might have the same blood-bending powers as Neuman? Like he blacked out and exploded him or something? Could be a cool way of getting Marie and the others involved again, maybe Butcher realises and tries to find Marie to teach him how to control it? Just a wild theory🤷🏻♂️
6:40 My name is Deep so thanks Achara😂❤
Homelander wants to get rid of his needs for approval for good, hence killing all of his parental figure, and also the feeling of the lab haunted him, being able to go back there, dominate the place, to him is just a normal room now, he's finally free.
Antony Starr deserves more than just an Emmy, *GIVE THAT MAN A F***ING OSCAR!!!*
No joke his performance in this episode alone and the series in general is probably the best villain performance ever since Heath Ledgers Joker (and frankly it might even be better than Ledgers Joker)
Oscar are for movies. It’s not a small version of the Oscar😅
Emmy = series
Can’t compare movie to a show
I am more of a Nicholson Joker fan . But yeah Starr is Killing it !
Liberated Villains are the most dangerous and Homelander just liberated himself from his humanity.
This really reminds me of Shigaraki who remembered his past, overcame it and then vaporized the city while laughing because he can. Its just pure hatered.
I love these kinds of villain arcs where the villains take back their spot as the biggest threat.
And that’s why HL exit will be diabolical
Either he falls badly or some anticlimactic arc happens
Remember next season is the finale
He didn't get rid of anything, he still needs love and even without that he still has insecurity and hatred which is part humans.
Hughie's dad coming up as a new supe was a totally unexpected turn I reckoned
i loved this episode, seeing Homelander kill people and actually being on his side for once is kinda awesome(in a weird way)
Without a doubt one of the best episodes in the entire show, Even the gore served a purpose this time instead of being Shock value for the sake of shock value like the last 3 episodes
love your reaction guys
I think Butchers tumour became sentient when he took the regular V and now it's like a Venom symbiote
The way Antony moves his lips an mouth in general. Feels like a genetic engineered trait.
This series is not about superheroes and not about villains, it's about ordinary people, their lives and their problems, they're all people, just someone who has a stylish suit and abilities and someone who doesn't.
To learn more about this you can see an episode of the boys presents diabolical cause we see something like this happen where the main character of the episode injects his cancer ridden wife with compound V and it helped her but also the cancer and in the end she had to fight the cancer (this episode is one of the canon episodes) so this is what could be happening to butcher since we saw a glimpse when he was fighting the guy with stretching powers(I don’t remember his name and I don’t care he is gone now)
Some one pointed out, the guy was lucky, while he did burn, his nerves were destroyed before he died thus he felt no more pain.
But Homelander skin didn't; burn but it still hurt a lot he said, which meant he never got any relief till they were done.
It's no wonder he so insane, and he knows it, he know she broken beyond repair.😳😞
Upon rewatching, I realized in the earlier scene Sage when called “uppity” was feeling guilty because she knew the plan was for Starlight to beat her down, so she let her have that one. Hence the “how’s that for uppity” remark afterwards. Great writing!
Achara has become one of my most favorite reactors on all of UA-cam - now I want to see her reaction to some *real* classics (i.e. older than Jaws 1975) to see how really good movie storytelling can be. Psycho (1960), Rear Window (1954), 12 Angry Men (1957), Casablanca (1942). And Wait Until Dark (1967) is a great thriller none of the reaction channels have done. Gauntlet thrown!
Starlight beating the crap out of Firecracker was definitely a highlight of the season and i would definitely be on her side upvoting that beatdown wyen it went live.
Bro this episode was nuts! 😂😂😂😂😂
This homelander fella seems like a well adjusted member of society
Your comment made me chuckle, thank you
This episode should of been called an eye for an eye Homelander finally put the monsters in his shoes who made him a monster sage and the deep looked eachoher in the eyes as he lobotomised her and A TRAIN and hughie are now even a life for a life and butcher hates Homelander but now is becoming a supe himself what he absolutely hates 🔥what an incredible episode Anthony Starr deserves all the awards as always
He welded her in that room and she's gonna die slowly. Diabolical
Maybe when butcher sees his wife's hallucinations, its the parasite's work to keep him alive.
Firecracker is Kara from Detroit: Become Human PS4
Butcher might be dealing with something that one episode of "The Boys : diabolical" where and elderly women with cancer got V by her husband and the cancer got superpowers... That's what I'm thinking
Hughie left the V in his jacket and went to get a soda. His mom totally checked and gave it to the dad.
No one is talking about the fact that now we have Super Simon
The whole episode I was scared af like I'm watching a horror movie 😭
I think Butcher took the V and the parasyte got the V, maybe that's why the V didn't worked on butcher
No, its like a Venom's counterpart. In the animated show 1 man gave his dying cancer wife V to save her and the cancer end up becoming its own lifeform and absorb everything. Maybe it'll go the same for Butcher. Now looking back I can see why they calling that a "black tumor" as black for Venom's symbiote color.
@@blackjk1234 So i am right? the V turned the parasyte into a new lifeform becuse it got the V and it's not working for butcher. It keeps butcher alive but not long enough i think
It was mentioned to episode two that she works for Vought and I think it's more than just essential oils
20:55 she needs therapy now😂😂😂
the shining light goons didn't shoot earlier because they didn't want A-Train to save them. Which obviously he would've, at that moment.
They did not know A train was there
This episode is about the paybacks by Homelander and Firecracker
Even if Starlight blinds the camera, everyone would still know it was her. It's across the street from her headquarters and happened while talking about her in what seemed to be a whole day of specifically talking about her. Sure they wouldn't have footage of it, but that wouldn't change the narrative whatsoever. At least the way she did it maybe you gain some support/sympathy from people for fighting back.
Anthony starr really nailed it with this role 🔥🔥
"thank goodness it was his face and not his head" me: where is my face if not on my head?
Getting Moonknight alter ego vibes from butcher
PLEASE REACT TO SPACE ICE. I think you guys would love it. Similar in a way to Pitch Meeting
A good director would recognize the genius of this episode. greatly executed
We are so back with this episode!!
Jaby. ANOTHER SHOW WELL DONE MY GUY 💯🔥
one of the best episodes on the whole series
27:50 they used to have patients talk during lobotomies so that they could stop once they started slurring their words and stuff
In my I assumed that the ast dose of compound V didn't give him powers it gave the brain mass powers and intelligence and made it the parasite thing
It would be awesome if they finished with a movie! It’s the only way
This episode had me uneasy the whole episode. Was a great episode but I felt very uncomfortable. And the one question I had is how did the mom know about compound V. And I don’t think Barbara was scared for her or the scientist. She knew they were all dead. I think she was scared of what would happen to the planet now that it seems Homelander is off the leash. Can’t believe I have to wait another whole week to see what happens.
Why they not release all together
Look huggie said that her mom worked for vought at some capacity , it maybe reveled that the v she gave him could be like a improvised V , one they would have made after temp V like a V2.0 and she might have been related to that somehow . Homelander took all the V stash but there is no way homelander was ever aware of temp v and this is probably why someone in vought like stan edgar could have gathered resources to make a better v to put out homelander as temp v was a great improvement over regular v and made buther a normal human as strong as homelander
@@Noonenoone440Coz they want it to be relevant. If they were to release it then it would be trending for about a week or two. Years of work just for a couple of weeks. Whereas here they will be relevant for a month or two.
It's called the fog of war, the red haze of anger. Every human has their breaking point and no rational thoughts exist in that moment.
14:19 "pleeeeeease" 😂
