VW T3 Vanagon headlight forming for HID use

Forming optical acrylic to use as lens for HID retrofit into a VW Vanagon square headlight bucket.

I am sitting here marvelling at the ingenuity and simplicity of this operation... Slightly facepalming because "why didn't I think of that?!" Well done! Of course, it raises a few questions I hope you might be willing to answer:
1. What temperature did you heat it to?
2. What's the material of the "frame" around the acrylic?
3. Are you planning on painting the acrylic before fitting?
