I've done alot of those brackets during the years. I've had alot of old Harley's in the day, you see. What I did was to take a piece of flat bar, drilled two holes for mounting on the bike and two holes with threads, fitting the holes in the regulator. First fix the bar/bracket to the loction and then screw the regulator to the bracket. In that manner it will not "build up" as much. Makes sense? Thank you! 🙂
Thanks for adding to our collective knowledge re this great bike! There’s plenty of room above the mudguard as the max fork ‘travel’ doesn’t come anywhere near the re-located RR unit and is therefore in no danger of the fork brace hitting it. My own bracket was a £1 galvanised steel L bracket cut in half. Primitive….but it works! I’ve been out to shame by other people’s brackets including the one in this video! 😀
In which video did you cover the type of material you used, drill bit sizes, etc? I looked back and had trouble finding it. Hoping to start mine soon but this has been a mental block for me. Edit: I can check my local stores for a galvanized bracket like you mentioned here, though where I live I'm skeptical whether anyone will carry the right thing.
It’s just a 6mm drill bit to drill four holes in a metal plate/bar/bracket. Two holes spaced for the Rrbitself and the putter two holes spaced to fit the two threaded holes under the front steering yoke….
I did! At 3.30am. Four hours’ sleep and just off to work, feeling slightly tired! Such is my devotion to the Royal Enfield Interceptor band of brothers (and maybe a sister or two?)!! 😀
Kent has made a nice job of bracket, that reg/rec will certainly have increased airflow over fins unlike stock position back of reg mounted to sump & fins facing towards rear of bike well done Kent👍
