    Thank you SO much for taking the time to do this reaction my guy! It really means a lot. 🙏🏼❤️ You really had A LOT to say about it which I absolutely love about your videos in general considering most reactors out there literally sit in front of the screen for the length of song and call it a reaction, but I really love how I always end up learning something new everytime after watching one of your videos .. Even if it's a reaction to one my own videos you actually noticed a few details there that I never even thought about myself 😂👌🏼❤️ Thanks again man, I really appreciate all your constant love and support and honored to call you a good friend. 🙏🏼❤️ And to anyone reading this, If you're not subscribed to Peter yet, you are really missing out on some top tier content from Acapella to very insightful reactions to Opera, this man does it all!
    P.S. : 14:22 was just a B1 chest, but that B0 sub is soon to come (if you know you know) 😉😉

      Awesome cover and damn if I had half that talent twenty something years ago...
      I agree on the analysis aspect, I thoroughly love these reactions for the technical breakdown, there are a lot of coaches and singers that I enjoy watching reaction videos from, but to have a legit bass singer breaking it down is my jam.

      I agree with you about most of the "reaction" youtubers. Right now there are three (counting Peter) that I love because they pause (often) and point out something that I've missed as a casual listener.
      My motto these days is.... "If you ever stop learning then you aren't really living"

    I actually wish people weren’t so hung up on whether someone is a bass or baritone. Does it really matter? Marwan has an amazing range, wonderful tone and can only get better. So the only real question is ‘Do you like what you hear?’ The answer - Hell yeah!
    Looking forward to the new Bass Gang song😁

    I'll be darn! Frédéric Chopin's Piano Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor, Op. 35, also known as Marche Funèbre , was composed in 1839! 🤯
    I knew Marwan is the baby of the group (and you're the grandpa, your words, not mine! 🤣) but never realized how young he is!! His voice is not ... settled?? yet, and he's already creating these amazing sounds!! To all the Geoffs, Tims and Avis out there: watch out, boys! there's a new generation that will take you by storm!!
    Remember the names, Peter, Tomi, Marwan, Bobby, the Bass Gang, all of them amazing bass singers!! 🙏🏼❤️

    I don’t know why people debate if marwan is a bass or not he literally can hit a B0 sub harmonic and has a wonderful range. I think there is a reason he is in bass gang guys cmon now! Love you marwan keep up the good work

    I've heard one or two of the Bass Gang pieces, but never heard Marwan on his own piece in entirety. Thank you for the introduction!
    His voice is gorgeous. He has a lovely velvety quality to it. By the time his voice matures, he's going to be one heck of a bass.
    Thanks also for all the added expertise you interject into these reactions - that is why I watch you, and that's actually what earned you my sub a while ago. :) I absolutely LOVE the teaching aspect of your presentations. (Sorry - you and Elizabeth both take your reactions up to the next level. They just feel more like presentations or classroom mini-lectures to me, and I love it. LOL)
    Anyway. Thanks once again. And yay! New musician to follow! :D

    Peter, you, by far, are one of the best analysts out there. A true gift that not everyone can do. (Just because someone has a camera and can play a piano, does NOT mean the person can analyze. Just saying.....) Thoroughly enjoy the video insights, the music theory, and the musical knowledge. Keep on doing what you are doing- loving it.

    In church choir I’m used to Soprano, Alto for women and Tenor, Bass for men so yes, a he’s a bass. But I also sing Barbershop so that is Tenor, Lead, Baritone, Bass for the men’s groups (for women’s, too). So he can sing any of those, although I would think he would not sing Tenor regularly. When I say Baritone/Bass I’m talking about most comfortable ranges. He is a wonderful talent though. I have enjoyed the songs on his channel. I first subscribed to each of “The Bass Gang” after watching your group videos. Thanks for reacting to this one

    I absolutely love his rendition. I love that he kept it much like the original and pulled the sound off amazingly but love that he added that slow dub sound, it just adds such a great kick to it. And I knew he was young, but only in high school, WOW. I seriously can't wait to see just how he grows into that deeper voice set. I feel we are gonna see great things from him not only vocally but thru his video work as well. Another great analysis Peter, thank u!

  • @oceanchaos1

    Is there any difference in difficulty between a deep open vowel and singing through a m/n at the low end? Like you say @6:00 Geoff Castellucci did a lot of sub-hums in "House of the Rising Sun" but not every time, and Marwan is doing them here. It seems like that might be harder since it shortens your vocal tract by the length of your lips?
    Also: the theme is Chopin's 2nd piano Sonata (op 35): Here's Michelangeli playing it ua-cam.com/video/Hgw_RD_1_5I/v-deo.html

    • @PeterBarber
      @PeterBarber  3 роки тому

      In theory there shouldn't be much difference in difficulty because one can maintain a similar throat position, but singers do seem to struggle more with sustaining on a closed vowel, especially while maintaining any kind of power behind it

      @FernyBass 3 роки тому

      @@brachavo1833 I don’t see how he’s a Baritone, unless he sings opera where there are far more requirements for voice classifications, he’s a Bass.

    • @brachavo1833
      @brachavo1833 3 роки тому

      @@FernyBass He can hit low notes but he's more comfortable in singing with a brighter and lighter color. Basses have a naturally warm and dark sound. Hitting low notes does not make someone a bass. It's the natural color and resonance of their voice. But you're right, in opera standards, it's much harder to be labeled as a true bass.
