MAAANNNN!!! ... This ship looks "ANCIENT" .. really!! .. I'm not kidding! . no wonder nobody wanted this Russian built WW1 era ship not even Ukrainians nor even Bangladeshi Chittagong ship breaking yard wanted this in 1989 right after Soviet Union collapse for toxic chemical disposal. .That's why back in 1991 Ukraine sold this junk as scrap metals to lndia for couple of millions lndian TAKA but lndia now is decorating it's NAVY with this??? .. & lndia is trying hard to scare China with this supposedly scrap metals?? ... I think the biggest difference of capabilities between India and China with regards to aircraft carrier is the fact that India has mastered its operation over decades while China has just got it's hands on one very recently... And of course it's the man behind the machine that makes a huge difference

It could be possible if it was a frigate Or a destroyer but aircraft carriers r far more complex than normal ships as it requires involvement of many different companies to develop different parts. I've been hearing about the 3rd aircraft carrier INS Vishal since 2017 but there is no official announcement ever made as of now.
Actually he may given us hint by saying vishal, viraat, and vihangam in his speech.
I would say that self reliance in every field is prerequisite to make any country paramount.....and india is doing the same .....ins Vikrant brahmos missile, Tejas aircraft ,swati radars ,rustom UAV ,AK203 and defence corridor makes india self reliant with respect to military aspect ......on the other hand , Indian economy is rising and grow at 13 % for its first quarter that's great.....

It may seem that Aircraft carriers are too expensive but in reality these made in India Aircrafts boost Indian Economy, Make in India campaign, provide a lot of jobs and make our navy strong. We should definitely make 2 or 3 more aircrafts to deal with China and Pakistan.
We should make about 5 carriers and 10 submarines. Though I don't know what we will do with them if not use them to fight.

The only advantage I see in making these machines, manning them, running them is we are always abreast with the latest technology and in developing a vast technically skilled manpower in every field ( from steel making to ship and aircraft designing, building, maintenance etc).
