  • In a bid to become self-reliant in Defence, Indian Navy has moved a mega proposal to build 2nd Aircraft Carrier. Made in India second Aircraft Carrier will be constructed by the Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kerala. The Defence Ministry will be shortly discussing the proposal moved by the Indian Navy. The programme will create thousands of jobs through the Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kerala. Earlier, the first indigenous Aircraft Carrier INS Vikrant was commissioned by PM Modi on Sept 2022. Indian Navy has been pressing for 3 Aircraft Carriers to maintain at least one carrier on each coast with one in refit. With 3 aircraft carriers, Indian Navy would also be keeping pace with all the navies deployed in Indo-Pacific region. Also, the Indian Navy is going to get 26 new Rafale fighter aircraft for the INS Vikrant. Indian Navy has given assurances to Centre that the sea-force will become self-reliant by 2047.

    India should build and operationalize 5 aircraft carriers (1 nuclear-powered) at least by 2050 to compete and emerge as a Blue-water navy at a global level that will also facilitate the Indian navy to operate far from its shore

    Idiots talking about India needing more submarines than Aircraft Carrier.
    An Aircraft Carrier alone means a floating Island with Aircrafts causing devastation to an enemy country because it isn't just an Aircraft Carrier, it includes Destroyers, Corvettes, Frigates, Minesweeper, Submarines, Loading Vessels, Fast Attack boats, Replenishment Ships & other ships.
    It's not just ONE SHIP, it's an armada or flotilla stamping authority which is used for complete blockade in times of war.

    India was expecting INS Vishal (India's third aircraft carrier) to be CATOBAR and be atleast 65,000 Tons but now it seems too expensive and we don't have the technology also so it will be a repeat of INS Vikrant same old STOBAR and will be 45,000 Tons and it will take atleast 10 years to be built
    I really want it to be catapult assisted 😢😢

    • @atharvzemse6599
      @atharvzemse6599 11 місяців тому +3

      You are wrong. The technology is not the problem the budget and extra time required to build 65k tonnes AC is the problem. IAC 2 to will take max 6-7 years to be ready might take even less.

      it will NOT take 10 years to build it, it will at max take 5 years to build it as promised by the organization which built this, buying a second AC same as that of Vikrant would make the techonology we developed for a 40,000 ton displacement AC would indeed WORTH IT, we cant just always INVEST in "single time" projects, having that technology developed and buying a second or even a third product on that is a clever thing
      also the tech for a 65,000-80,000 ton carrier, with CATOBAR tech like EMALS, etc. is NOT available right now, and will take 10 years alone to "develop" it... so the assembly line will stay vacant for no reason, wasting resources and time
      also INS Vikramaditya is a very old AC which we bought second hand, at max we can operate it till 2035 or 2040, as we fully began using it somewhere near 2015 (do note that this CHASIS of Vikramaditya is very old, literally from 1980s and 90s)
      so its chasis DOESNT have much life in it, so if the company is PROMISING and is confident enough to build a 2nd IAC (which will be INS Viraat perhaps, or maybe INS Vishal) in just 5 or maximum 7 years, then why not use this opportunity? the IAC 2 will REPLACE the INS Vikramaditya
      then surely side by side we can work on the 3rd carrier being 65,000 to 80,000 ton displacement one, with EMALS and other CATOBAR tech, maybe even Nuclear powered who knows... but that would take years now... so if by 2030 we will get IAC 2, and in the 15 years in between, we build IAC 3 (bigger carrier), then when INS Vikramaditya leaves service (in same time period), Indian navy will have an option to directly induct it once INS Vikramaditya leaves... then for that IAC 3, we can do the same thing, making an IAC 4 but this time based on the IAC 3 (like IAC 2 will be based on IAC 1), making the tech we made for IAC 3 worth it
      this approach is better

    India should have 35+ submarines to dominate the Indian Ocean Region and do some power Projection in the South China sea. Current 18 submarines is too low a count ,even less than Iran and North Korea

    • @lightyagami5483
      @lightyagami5483 10 місяців тому +1

      that problem has been dealt with
      the Indian Navy will have 9 Scorpenes, 6 Type 214s or maybe 6 S80+ subs... so total 15 here... then we already have Type 209s and some Russian Kilo submarines (which both got midlife refits) so they are also each around 4 (idk, just speculating) so total being 8, well so 23 SSKs, then maybe, these older 8 subs might get replaced, maybe we can get a few 3-4 Barracudas or a follow on order from Project 75I (the Type 214 and S80+ competition), all in all, with all of this, total comes out to be 24 roughly... then Navy has plans to procure 6-8 Nuclear powered ATTACK subs, and to have 5 SSBNs (ballistic missile subs)
      so even if we consider the bare minimum
      24+6+5=35
      so your dream is already fulfilled, it will take some time to make them as all of them will be made in India and require tech transfer, assembly lines, and for indigenous subs, we have to research as well... also L&T has made a submarine called SOV400 which is just a bit smaller than Scorpene perhaps... although L&T says these are Midget submarines
      so if we buy 12 of these cheap yet reliable midget submarines
      so total will be 24+6+4+12 at minimum which makes it 46 (if we include L&T's submarine) so thats MORE THAN ENOUGH to DEFEND ourselves
      although if in the future India's stance turns from defensive to offensive we will indeed have 80 submarines perhaps, but currently it seems we will not go above 40 Subs at all
      as I see it, this will be better - 5 SSBNs, 5 SSGNs, 10 SSNs and 20 SSKs
      all indigenous too... well this will be a scenario for the future
      currently 9+6 SSKs, 6-8 SSNs, 5 SSBN are decided, makes up around 26-28 subs, decent in my opinion
      ACs are equally important though

    • @lightyagami5483
      @lightyagami5483 10 місяців тому

      @@bajrangdal2.025 still the reality is, for a country like India, any number of submarines below the number of 40, is bad... USA and China each operate 70-80 subs each, Russia has lesser water bodies around it (the Arctic Ocean is freezing cold and literally freezes, so no attacks from there), still they have 50-60 subs, India, with a literal GOD GIFTED Ocean below it, has just 18-24 subs? Nope, we need Minimum 40 to defend all places... (For aggressive approach we should take 80, but as our budget is less, and India is a defensive peace loving nation, who doesn't wanna do any drama for getting world power, will only need half of them, to only defend... so that's why 40 subs are BARE MINIMUM for Indian Navy, atleast in 2040s)
      15 to 25 years still left, plenty of time for Indian Navy to build more subs (also our economy will be 15 trillion in 15 years and 25 trillion in 25 years, as per all predictions globally)
      So we would invest more on military by then so 40-50 subs as per that time seems possible
      For today, only 20-25 subs won't work, around 30 subs shall suffice (which is the plan I think, around 18 SSKs, 8 SSNs and 4 SSBNs, total 30 by 2035-40)

    For 2 consecutive years of recruitment for engineers,this Government of India company provides exam center locations only in Kerala...why?
    Is this a Kerala Government organisation or is it funded majorly by Kerala Gov? Does this racist company only want people from Kerala or South to join it?
    If the Indian taxpayers money goes into the organisation,how dare the organisation be so narrow minded to filter out candidates from rest of the country by providing exam center locations only in Kerala!?

      An aircraft carrier is really imperative to have because they provide fighter aircraft protection to indian coasts. Submarine is for stealth operations they can't shoot down multiple aircrafts if China decides to invade the indain ocean what then? Idiots just type random bul shit without proper research.
