- Hello everyone. In this video, I ride the Class 7F 2-8-0 (53809) from Sheringham to Kelling Heath along the Poppy Line.
This is the longest possible journey between two different stations on this railway, as Kelling Heath Halt is a request-stop which you are only able to exit the train at on the Sheringham bound service.
Therefore, during this video, I went from Sheringham, to Halt, before returning towards Sheringham, to get off the train at Kelling Heath.
Note: I changed carriages during the 30 minute wait at Holt, as the platform at Kelling Heath is very short.
53809 (History):
This train used to run along the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway during the mid 1930s, and after operating on several routes throughout the East Midlands, it has now come to the North Norfolk Railway on a long term operational contract.
