Obviously this is just and #unboxing and first impressions video. Some of the information may be incorrect because I haven't read the manual yet. So check back for a review video when I get more experience with this new Casio watch.
Also this thing has a 10 year battery. I forgot the mention that.
The other G-Shock watch I hold up is the Mudman which is an extremely durable watch. Obviously it cost much more than a Casio but it's worth it for me!

I have the Casio Royale AE 1200 and I recently picked up a Casio moon phase tide graph for $20 at Walmart followed by a dw 291 for $40 and this looks like an amalgamation of all three rolled into one 🤔 ..
Haha. Now you need to buy another one. You know the body is quite similar to the age-1500.
Don't forget....for less than 50 bucks 100 m WR, moon and tide graph (incredible), dual time (world time), crazy battery life, 3 independent alarms and it's pretty accurate, it's off just about a second per day which is not bad for El Cheapo. Who really can beat it?

I don't know the difference between "fishing timer" and fishing gear" in Casio-talk, but the WS-1500H which is a fishing gear watch, looks like a cross between this and the AE-1500. You should have a look at it, gives both the AE-1500 and this WS-1700 a serious run for their money.

hi, I hv a question , when i set a DT time, it cannot show “P “in 12H mode, just show”A”. It’s that my watch problem ?
First, make sure you’re actually in 12 hour mode.
Are you referring to the WS-1700 or a similar watch? Some Casios don’t have a separate letter P. They will display “A” for AM and display nothing for PM.
My Casio is WS-1700H-5A. No "P" in 12H mode & only have 0-11 hours in 24H mode on dual time function. 2024 Casio surprise me@@JimKinkade

The MIP display on the 5600 has a refresh rate of 1hz so can't keep up with anything under a second. So tenths and hundreds aren't available.
True. But what I’m telling Casio to do is still calculate the fractions of a second then display the result when the user presses STOP.

Yeah, fir the stop watch, the result is important than the flashing digits which human eyes can't differentiate.

Yes, 8 1/2”. This is a durable watch. You could definitely wear it while snapping someone in half.

does the bottom of your glass screen have some blur/glass cut mark on it?i can see some cut mark when i view the watch upside down.right at the illuminator logo..if it's a really a cut mark,i wouldn't mind.kinda giving me an OCD
This reminds me of GD350 which I've been putting on hold since it's out of my budget and I'm not into G-Shock. Guess I'll be getting this one instead. Thanks for the review.
Big miss if you don’t get the GD350. It’s best Gshock battery powered under 100

If you’re on a budget this is a good option but don’t take your eyes off of saving up for the GD350.
The price point is too close to not consider the gd 350. After all, this casio watch, at the end of the day, is just a g shock emulation.

Which would you recommend, this or the w-800h. Thinking of buying one for my daily swim. My wrist is 6.5"
I never tried the w800h, but it looks like to would drag a lot less through the water than the ws1700, which is a little bit bulky. Nonetheless the ws1700 will fit a 6.5” wrist well.

Nice review, nice watch too, but i don't like the little analogical watch for "ants" , the same fail got the dw291, instead of that i would prefer a function indicator.
If the hands on the ant clock were a little bit bigger the watch would be so much better.

1700 is for PROs, anf fisherman, and 1500 for general public. 1700 is in fact version od Casi(n)o Royale. It is of OK price and I will not wait if it becommes cheaper, it is wewn now good value for the money. It is not watch for general public like 1500. I like it. Thy for your review!!
