- A review of the Casio WS-1700H-1AV (Casio WS1700h) which was first released in January 2024. This watch has a tide graph and moon phase feature as well as an analogue digital display. There were three versions of the watch when first released WS-1700H-1AV (black), WS-1700H-8AV (grey) and WS-1700H-5AV (Khaki). Originally launched in Japan, North America and certain parts of Asia, the first batch of the release was discovered to include a production flaw which concerns the dual time. Production has been paused to fix the flaw and it has yet to be launched properly in Europe and the UK. In this video, we uncover the features of the watch and find out what the flaw is.

Great video, liked and subscribed. As l live in the UK I bought one from the far east (2 weeks wait for it to arrive) my watch has the same problem with the dual time mode but it shows 'A' for both am and pm. I don't use this feature anyway so it's not a problem for me. It actually makes the watch a bit more interesting 👍

Dual Time always feels like an extra mode to skip past anyway. It's punishment for watches too cheap to have World Time.
The "bumpers" on the watch strap are intended to center the watch on the back of the wrist. Without them, larger watches tend to roll away from the thumb and towards the pinky.

It does look better in real life. The case shape suits the display. What part of the world are you in? It's difficult to get one now (at retail price).

just got this beautiful masterpiece, design so much like g-shock, i thought the error because it try to follow g-shock that not show AM but only display “P” to resemble PM😅
I hope they make something identical but with small dimensions. bet my 6.5" wrist wont look good on this
You could beg, borrow or steal any version of the AE 1200, AE 1300 or WS 1700 and just swap the modules out. The fit right in.

7:02 same problem with the WS-1500H dual time cannot tell am or pm as well. Basically cannot track a time above 12 hours.
8:11 WS-1500H firmware on mine is 37:6851 so even with a step up of 1 unit it still has the same problem.
I read that the 1500H has the same problem as well. I will post another update when I get the new watch.
@@wristaction i am super afraid of returning it though. I am 4 deep scratches in. And bought the headlight restorer that you reccomended. I am still communicating with the official casio retailer that i bought it from.

I have the same issue with my ws1500h fishing moon phase. The 24hr time on the DT function always shows 0:00 for midnight and noon. never shows 1300 1400 1500 1600 1700 1800 1900 2000 2100 2200 2300. Just 100 200 300 400 500 600 700 800 900 1000 1100 0000 then 100. THIS IS SLSO HAPPENING ON MY WS-1500H

Hola amigos, solo quiero decir que mi casio MOD: ws-1500 tiene el mismo defecto. Seguramente los módulos del 1500 y 1700 sean iguales.
Tengo que decir que para mi no es ningún problema. Pero comprendo que para otras personas si puede serlo.
Utiliza el mismo firmware 3768 que el WS1500, por eso el mismo problema ocurre en ambos relojes.
If Casio fix this, will it be model like 1701
They will fix it in the firmware so the model number will stay the same.
Because now we have ws 1700h lets make a comparison between ws 1700h and ws 1600h

I like the idea of that watch, but honestly, I find it ugly.
Brutalist design. It looks way better in real life though.
I couldn't care less for dual time, tide or moon graph. I have over 50 digital watches in my collection and with them pretty much any function I'll ever need or want. BUT, the -5 model in khaki (coyote tan) looks so bad ass military, it's like a scream in your face. I will purchase one once they are back on track just for the sake of looks. Oh and I can guarantee you, the current ones with the dual time flaw, will become highly demanded "collecting pieces" somewhere in the future, as sick and crazy as it is but you'll make a fortune one day with those.
The khaki one does look cool alright.
Eh, not that big of a problem for me. People usually know whether or not the other timezone they have on their watch is currently on the PM or AM. The only problem for me is that I still can't buy the watch lol
It is hard to get a hold of the watch at the moment. Re-sellers are asking for way over retail.
Why do you give case measurements in cm & strap & your wrist size in mm? All should be on mm which is the world wide standard.
Because 1cm is 10mm, not hard at all.
