Hats UP for you and your band John Fogerty, at seventies and still rocking on. This song is a MASTERPIECE created by you and CCR, it has inspired me and my generation since the sixties , I'm 81 and never get tired of listening with nostalgia but rocking anyway. God Bless you all..
Lordy, lordy, my all-time favorite CCR song, and still kickin' a$$ all these years later. Got an old lady up and boogie-ing all over. Much love! ♥♥♥♥♥♥
John Fogerty, man one of the best ever, the man is in his element. He belts out them songs like no one else. This is real music. What a talented musician, one of America's best....
I have never heard about this band, have watched this video. Guys, this is awesome! What a tremendous version. John is cool, but let me say this thing - this long, slow, psychedelic plaintive guitar solo is just absolutely brilliant.
Hah! I took my first CCR drug here in the UK aged 11 and have been using continuously ever since. I'm now 66. Along the way I've experimented with many others, Beatles, Traffic, Allman Brothers, Steely Dan, Sting.. but it all started with CCR. And John Fogerty still has one of the greatest voices, one of the most recognisable guitar tones and many of the best songs of all time to his name. An outstanding talent. Great to see that Jimmy Herring, one of the very finest players on the planet, recognises that talent too and can enjoy playing these songs. Peace.
Were from the island in the pacific ocean . Just a little ol island called Guam MI. And there was alot of our islanders got drafted to vietnam. I was only 16 yrs old . When that great song reach the island. It was a super hit song at that time and even now I still play it. When we have a barberque . For some of our vietnam warriors started reminesiging that bad ass song born on on the bayou !!! I wanted to join the marines ,or the Army but I was too young. What a bumbmer. Two of my family members got killed in that war. They were my hero's. I inlisted in the Army 1977 as a 11-bravo light Infantry. But the war was over. What I did'nt understand is our men and women went to fight the vietcong's and when they our soldiers came back home they were demoralized , not praised as they had fought for our freedom and country . They were not honored for nothing. They were even called baby killers ? What the fuck . To me they were Heroes. !!!
Your service is no less significant....True,combat was ,thankfully over, but you were ready.....George Orwell, said it best..."People sleep peacefully at night, only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." I too cannot wrap my brain around the mindset,of society in the late 60's and early 70's...I'm old enough to remember my father being shamed after 2 combat tours, with the 1st Cav....I'm now explaining to my 14 and 11 yr old girls, why he was treated that way.....He,nor did many give a rats ass about politics...He just wanted to protect his brothers and come home.....Thank you,Sir...for all you've done for our country...kindest regards,Choctaw.
First I salute the brave people of Guam. God bless you for your service many of us have not forgotten your sacrifice. Thank you also for your service God bless those of your friends and family who gave all. Gone but not forgotten .
Where are we going to be when you guys are gone....look at this sad world now.....these days this music will be foreverrr treasured an to remind use when we all close together an shared moment of love laugh an a true mate...
It always makes me laugh when someone says they’ve never heard this band. One of the most popular and iconic bands in the world . Vietnam vets lived on this band. Born on the Bayou, proud Mary, Green River, many others. John Fogerty started the band. I remember my band was playing their hits in 6th grade🧔🏼♂️
Saying you never hear of Creedence Clearwater Revival is almost a sin ,sam as if you’d never heard of the Beatles, really, they were so popular in 60’s and 70’s then then Fogerty bros. Had a huge law suit and split up. John got screwed out of his own music and his own songs.
You can tell John wanted more out of Jimmy at the beginning of his solo, like "rock out man!" but he ends up getting what Jimmy was going for, in the end
For decades I thought he was black! WOW! This has to be my favorite song from the greatest music era EVER! It is the deep soulful and rhythmal sounds of the guitar tones that hit the sexual chakras that make this a powerful psychic experience. Along with his raspy voice that completes this classic that will remain a great song. should be a movie sound track while a vigilante father (Denzel Washington or Liam Neeson) while he heads into a crack house den to exact revenge on the dealer who sold drugs to his daughter that died of an overdose...or something like that.
That’s Jimmy Herring on that long, amazing solo. I should know of this guy with talent like that. But I’m afraid to say I had to Google. Now you don’t have to.
One of the last shows I got to see with my music brother and I’ll never forget our shit eating grins during panics set rip T. rex
You can see how much John Fogerty loves making music, especially with guys like this. ROCK ON!!!

Yep, that is quite a beautiful angle he plays from. You get the prize for using 'Plaintive' correctly!

This is the balls, over the top eargasm!!!
I saw John back in 1990 in Stockholm. This kind of music is relaxing and they're brilliant! Love to listen to old rock every now and then.
Jimmy dont mess around. What a version.
I love at the end of Jimmy's solo I think Fogerty says " feedback" and then Jimmy gives it to him. Classic.
If you watch closely you can see Fogerty drooling during Jimmy's guitar solo.
He loved it to bits
Jimmy is the FUCKIN MAN
Genius and legendary

Hello cool song mostly in E7.....
Mint!
That’s Jimmy Herring on that long, amazing solo. I should know of this guy with talent like that. But I’m afraid to say I had to Google. Now you don’t have to.
Anybody know what effects Jimmy Herring using during that solo?
hard for these guys to keep up with a legend. John F rocks
Not difficult for these guys to keep up with John at all......trust me.
I thought John was in awe of Jimmy Herring.
Panic’s musical ability is way beyond Fogerty’s. Not trying to “keep up”.
The boy's have it under control
Not a competition kids, however you got to admit John's energy lifted WSP. Dave's bass playing was killer
Damn, Jimmy and John's voices are eerily similar
imagine before the word voices it says "guitar"... where's my damn edit button :(
Awesome!
