Hello Angels, In today's video, we are talking about Mommy Influencers and their use of their children. I have my personal opinions and beliefs on parent influencers. In my opinion, I believe it's exploitative to show your child in a vulnerable state to thousands, using them for content when they can't consent, and using their cuteness for financial gain. At the end of the day, we don't know all the behind-the-scenes of these creators. But some of the public posts? Are alarming, to say the least. So let's talk about it! Again I truly hope creators learn and grow from this and protect their children more. I hope they get better! Thank you all so much for watching and don't forget to subscribe.

Please protect your children’s privacy. They’re essentially just taking home videos and uploading them to the internet for all to see. Videos that should be sentimental and private. Why should strangers have the privilege to view your children’s lives? It’s disturbing.

My home state Illinois just passed a bill for influencer kids similar to the protections kids in Hollywood have. Sitting back there, with her fake frown and acting as though she’s just “supporting” her child, when she’s actually leading her son to say whatever it is she wants! He said all the basics of what most people would say, and she’s poking for more! Growing up with a narcissist mother (who’s also suspected to have munchausens by proxy and now munchausens) this makes me feel the most insane rage, disgust, sadness, and an array of feelings I can’t even label. I know this feel all too well. Thankfully it wasn’t on the WORLD WIDE WEB! It’s turning my stomach and just makes me want to take a hike to wherever I need to, and keep pushing until something changes! I hate that this isn’t put as a priority! Weighed daily, and told to lose a pound a day, given an anorexic diet of a piece of fruit for breakfast, a protein bar for lunch and whatever was for dinner. Not allowed to see friends etc. I kept asking why I was being punished but they insisted I wasn’t. They caused my ed, exacerbated and dissected it from every angle trying to solve it, when I really could’ve started healing a long time ago. If the minimumn age for people to make social media accounts is usually around 13/14, then I don't see why family vloggers should be allowed to get around this by posting their kids all over their own accounts when they're younger than the age of consent to make accounts for themselves.

    • @confessionsofasahm

I agree. I also think accounts that are posted from the first person perspective of a child with “account run by mom/dad” in the bio shouldn’t be allowed. not to mention, many kids put on weight before a growth spurt bc their body is going to need the extra energy. there’s no reason to be broadcasting his weight and making him worry about something that’s probably just a normal process. Eating a balanced diet and getting movement (in whatever form is enjoyable for him) should be the focus, not weight loss or content smh. I also want to add that weight is caused by a HUGE number of factors, especially genetics and isn’t necessarily something we can control. overall health and happiness should be the only goal, especially for kids.

the skincare, the kids are going to suffer from premature aging and other issues bc they’re using products that aren’t meant for them. they’re creating problems for things they never had to begin with. people get those products to reverse the damage they already have and even then, adults shouldn’t use all of those products either. I will not feed those things content of my children for their satisfaction. I’m so sad for children who aren’t protected. If you want to make videos then make home videos to enjoy with your family. Strangers do not need to know the ins and outs of your family life.

I follow the last creator, the one talking about not posting without consent. She started off as a sober creator, sharing her experience detoxing, going to rehab and being a sober bartender. When she started making enough UA-cam money to quit working at the bar, her content has slowly shifted. She also is rasing a Sephora and Stanley cup obsessed kid. She sees it as letting her daughter be the cool kid so she can be the cool mom. I think she'll be a mommy vlogger to watch in the future.

I love the kind of parent influencers that either talk about their experience parenting and the way it changes your life and the way people interact with you, or the ones that act out their kids while describing scenarios that have happened. They’re funny and I don’t think they harm the kids at all. It could be argued that information about the children is still being shared, as long as some potential embarrassing moments and discussions, but I feel like the parents that make this kind of content are significantly more aware of that and a hell of a lot more cautious about what they post online about their children.

  • @cassandrasmith9635

On the subject of showing your house on the internet: it irks me that these influencers do this because predators can literally learn the layout of your house, and then be able to figure out how to get into your kids room while your sleeping and take off with your young child. There have literally been cases like Madeline McCann where a man was able to get in and take the child without being detected. Showing your house and where your kids rooms are and where your room is aids these predators in doing things like this!

I’m so glad you are highlighting family vloggers! Making their wealth off of exploiting their children on line.
I became aware of this after I started getting clips of the Beeston brothers across my feed. I was at first confused as to what was going on…lol! Then one day the brother Derick & wife Sarah shared a video of some ‘guy wrecking them on line’. Later I went to his account & wow! I was educated on the dangers of child exploitation! Josh from the ‘Dad Challenge podcast’ was quite blunt & showed the back end of these vloggers & how much they make across social media platforms. Especially the LDS of the Mormon church in Utah. Throughout the last 2 years peeking in on those 2 brothers, it’s shocking how much wealth they have made from sticking a camera in their children’s faces since birth!
Chad Franke (former 8 Passengers- Ruby Franke) has been calling out some of these family vloggers & he is quite blunt to the reality of being filmed every day!
    Please don’t support family vloggers!!

I have a youtube channel and a son. As a mother I promised myself never to pr*stitute my son to the cult of social media :( because you never know who could see it and for what reason. Also I would never endorse child labor nor making money exploiting children. I think they should ban videos with children under 18 that airs without their consent unless it's like an educational video from like a scientific university or something with child psychology experts standing by and written permission from their parents. I know that sounds extreme but with the way people exploit their kids it's insane and makes me so sad. Sorry if this comes off as unhinged but I don't think it is. Protect children !!!!! They are not your cash cow !!!!! It should be like other other things like kids under 16 cant consent to being filmed and uploaded to the internet unless in very specific circumstances.

When parents say things like "My kid really wants to be an influencer" or "My kid begged me to post this online" blah blah, I just always call bs. When my nephew was 6-7 years old he would mimic things he'd seen online (especially youtube.) He would play pretend and act like he was doing Lego unboxing videos and things like that. He often wanted me and his mom to sit and watch his "content." But he was a child and we never ACTUALLY filmed it. We'd watch him play and ask him about his "video" and what he was doing and he got so much joy out of it, but not ONCE did any of us ever think "Oh hey we should film this and actually upload it to UA-cam." Of course not, because he was a child and that would have been inappropriate. It takes a special kind of shit person to exploit their kids for entertainment.

I was training another mother last week at work who has a 3 year old daughter and she was telling me about some tiktok moms she watches, child care professionals and even told me about the mommy shame she dealt with in church. She's 29 and maybe just naive but i dont understand it. I asked her why is she even getting parenting advice from tiktok and allowing other women at church to shame her? Id get off of tiktok and go to a different church if i were her. I had my oldest boys before i turned 20 and my youngest in my early 30s and I'd never allow someone to tell me how to raise them let alone guilt me for it. Its such a bizarre concept to me! I learned by doing. And if i was having any struggles i talked to their pediatricians who understood my more old school ways. I am a loving, caring and empathetic mother but im not necessarily a coddling mother. I let my kids fall and get hurt and as long as it wasnt an injury, i let them pick themselves up and continue playing rather than picking them up right away and let them wallow in tears that otherwise wouldve stopped after a few seconds when they realized theyre fine (for example). I hate kids being on social media, i hate people claiming to be experts on children on social media. Every family dynamic is different, every child is different and every parent is different. To tell another parent how to raise their children and feed them a soecific diet at soecific times, wear a specific type of diaper or clothing, that you're doing something wrong if yiur child doesnt hit milestones exactly as someone else's is just absurd to me. And its absurd that there are parents going online and subjecting themselves to that! Its effing insane.

I used to watch Jessfam!! Early on as a mom and after a year or so I realized just how concerning her content is. I would NEVER put my kids online. I definitely fell into posting mom stuff, family pictures etc on Facebook in my early years of being a mom but once my oldest was 5 I took all pictures down and stopped posting them at all. I had friends and family that completely disagreed with my perspective on it, even family that took pictures of my kids at family functions and posted them and I had no problem messaging them and telling them to take them down OR ELSE. No matter the context, the content, the reason- KIDS DO NOT BELONG ONLINE. Especially videos or pictures, every single platform is flooded with predators and with my own personal experience, family members can be predators too and I’ll be damned if I put my kids on a silver platter for creeps, NO. Idc who that pisses off. It is not worth it.
