Absolutely amazing, I think you need to keep making more riffs and runs videos as lot of people try learn riffs and runs and your video are one of the best.
You are amazing. Just trying to keep up with you has made me a better vocalist. I recently began practicing scales. I'm about to turn 54, recovering from drug addiction and have been clean 10 years. I never really tried to be a better singer until this past year. You're so professional and kind. I love your method of teaching. So happy to have discovered your helpful videos.
Love this! Thank you for showing up just where my singing is going. I love the breakdown, pace, seeing and hearing pitches and the progression to faster runs. Thank you!
This was amazing! I am seriously so grateful to you! I decided to go back to school to study music and I am doing everything I can to listen and train and open up my voice. I joined the trial of 30 days of singing yesterday and have really enjoyed your videos. You’re wonderful!
I've been singing for years professionally and have been intimidated out of doing runs and riffs. But you are an amazing teacher! I love how you used really hard runs and riffs and applied your techniques. Thanks so much for the great video!
I likw your video(s). I'm an electronic rock musician and have been wanting to spice up my vocals a touch, but not to this extent as I don't think it fits the genre. Anyhow, if you feel like doing one for rock singers I certainly would appreciate it as I think others would too! Keep up the good work!
I barely comment on UA-cam videos, but I wouldn't want to pass on this opportunity of commending the depth of your understanding of this important concept in contemporary music. Your video is the first that ever explains riffs and runs in a way that moved me from a novice to "Yea, I can do this too"(literally). Great job!
Oh what fun! Camille, I'm 62 and only just finding a little confidence to try to sing after a lifetime of sheer phobia. I love Irish songs but I get the melismas all wrong and just sound so English (I am English) and stilted. After finding your videos today I stand more of a chance of understanding them but if you like Irish songs it would be wonderful if you could break down some of those very special vocal effects for a video. Honestly, I have had so much fun practicing runs with you and it has certainly added to my slowly growing confidence. Thank you so much!
Gorgeous!!! 🔥🔥🔥 with you it's sooo easy to practice.... you should do more videos like this!!! You're gifted to teach people... God bless you 🙌🏽 I'll be waiting on your new videos... 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 by the way... your voice is amazing and fresh ✨✨✨✨
You are so great! Excellent mentors! This is what I've been looking for for a long time. Easy to understand explanations, fun exercises and examples of famous songs. Very on point! It's nice to hear beautiful voices and see your beautiful face. Thank You!
This is amazing, thanks for putting together! I listened to Chris Stapleton sing Tennessee Whiskey a few times and it sounds like the 4th part of his run may actually be 5 notes that starts on a B. Then, the 4th part would be: B C# E F# E. It made it easier to sing when I started thinking of it that way rather than repeating the C#
Hi Camille, thank you so much for these video lessons!! I really do enjoy your explanation and also the breakdown of riff and run. I was wondering if you could teach us more on how to make our own riff and run when we want to improvise certain parts of a song that initially don't have riff and run?
Congrats to you!! Happy to help. The book "The diagnosis & correction of vocal faults" really helped me when I was first starting out. And I highly recommend anything by John Henny!
That was very helpful, thank you! Is there a video for daily exercises that can keep your voice in shape? I sometimes notice that when I do singing warm up, it doesn't work that good. I have to sing at least to songs to actually free my voice fully. I guess it's hard to find the perfect warm up
I have searched for this kind of video....you have no idea, this is pergect for a beginner because it's precise and methodical. I would like to see more difficult and complex runs.♥️
I love this. (secretly want u to get a metronome to keep up w each shift in tempo..but thats for my own selfish reasons :( ...) but i like how u break these riffs down....
Hi Camille! Love your videos! I was trying to break down the Tenesse Whiskey run myself before I came across your video. Listening to it on half speed, it sounds like the C# doesn't repeat, but dips down to a B, then back to a C#, before continuing on with the run. I listened to it at half speed. My apologies if I'm mistaken.
That makes sense, and I think you're right! That dip to the B allows the second C# to be heard (since without it, a repeated C# would just sound like the C# being held for longer). Thank you for pointing that out!
Great teachers make the difficult things look easy. But you made the student feel like they can sing anything. You're amazing!
Absolutely amazing, I think you need to keep making more riffs and runs videos as lot of people try learn riffs and runs and your video are one of the best.
Thank you! So glad you're finding them helpful.
