I did the calculator from scratch cause i didn't like any others online which are totally not new player friendly. @@TrinityOnline got it, i was on the fence as well whether to buy the epheria frigate off the market than to craft it. But decided to go for it first to get a ship haha
@@Nikerules sounds good. You can always still earn as you go along. But first focus on getting materials to upgrade the ship. Cause frigate still isn't fast enough for earning via bartering. Once you upgrade to galleass then things will look better. But I recommend solely focusing on upgrading all the way to carrack then you can really earn. Do use my calculator in my other video as well, it will help you keep track and remember to do the rivina npc quest. It gives you how the material too =)

I upgrade my Epheria to Improve and you can buy all the material in the market as long as you have the sliver. I have waited so long but now I have started to do bartering but I am doing all the sea quest first.
Yup that sounds great. At a start during this stage you can buy most of materials but some really takes a long time so you might want to join our discord so you can get more tips on how to access them. Sometimes members of discord will also help to sell them if they see you need it. On your next stage once you hit caravel or galleass that is where it becomes impossible to buy anything since all u can do is barter. Quickly rack up 3000 barter counts cause u must have 3000 barter count to get the last 2 material for carrack. hi there, the bartalia sail boat doesn't have much skills, each ship when you mount it, can use P to check the ship skill and level requirement. Best to get an Epherial Sail boat or Frigate, depending on your final ship path, then do the (great expedition quest) so that you can get to Sailing Skilled 1, which unlocks the ability to use more skills =D thanks again for joining the discord. Hi, glad you have decided on the ship and hope you can subscribe to the channel and give this video a thumbs up like. There are 3 methods. Upgrade from Bartali sailboat but I don’t recommend this, it’s way too hard, second is craft it at port epheria which if you like to do gathering life skill and can wait, you can craft the design which in turns craft the frigate ,but does take a certain amount of effort. Last method is type frigate in central market, check the price. It’s way higher than other ships but it’s worth it, cause you skip bartali grade crafting altogether and can instantly get it. If u don’t have enough funds, then just save up first. Sell all enhancing materials, since on ocean you won’t be using caphras or back stones etc. Sell spare horses if you have. Check mail and black spirit safe, for anything that can sell to market place or npc. Literally empty everything to buy the frigate so u can get it ASAP and enjoy it. Which Ship Should I Upgrade To First? Upgrade to Improved Epheria Frigate, if you don’t have a friend that can help you with sea monster hunting. It’s more difficult to hunt sea monsters solo with a lower tier ship. An Improved Epheria Frigate helps in fighting the sea monsters that drop the parts needed for the Galleass. Upgrade directly to an Epheria Galleass if you have a friend that can help you with sea monsters. It will save you some time and cost, if you can skip the Improved Frigate and upgrade directly to Epheria Galleass.
Hi there, I think you might be abit confused and I recommend you come to discord to get help so that we can visually help you better. First consideration is always to consider, are you going for end game bartering, or end game sea monster hunting. if it is bartering (you are going sail boat path), if its (sea monster hunting, you are going frigate path). Lets say if you are going frigate path, then using this as an example, do you want to upgrade towards: Option A: Improved Frigate (lesser materials, can auto fire cannon) But later you still need another round of upgrade to Galleass. OR Option B: Directly to Galleass, though materials slightly harder to come by, but you can one shot do it to avoid 2 rounds of upgrade. Personally, this is what i did: I bought the Frigate (License from Central Market) Spent 14 days upgrading it to option B, direct to galleass. After that, continue to work on upgrading it to the final carrack. Hope this summary gives you some idea, feel free to come to my discord to seek help. consider it the lowest of all tier, class 0. its just a sailboat that lets you get "your very first ship" that goes really slow. If you are going for sea content, be it seagull hot spot fishing, or, bartering especially, you won't be using bartali sailboat, the speed to travel far and barter island to island for bartali sail boat just isn't going to cut it. For players who want ships faster, (Depending on your final outcome you are going for), you can buy either the Epherial Sailboat or Epherial Frigate from the market place. In SEA server, Frigate is way more expensive than sailbaot. Its a yes & no, for new players starting to craft ship, yes due to the recent ship material buff from drops, however, there is still a lack of support for later content that requires crow coin, its extremely hard to farm, so most people give up on it on the mid-late part. So you got to be mentally prepared. I just hope that the future works and buffs will provide more avenues to crow coin access, then it will be a good improvement to the sailing content as a whole for black desert online.

Hi David, not really, but some players just do it likely because the materials come easier through bartering of the first carrack and so, they just craft the next one and another. Some players prefer to use combat type for sea monster hunting while weight type for bartering to be more optimal in each situation also is a possible reason on top of that. Hi jmbrady, generally most players regret going balance so to share with you. Cause it doesn't have any specialty but I guess that's why it's called balance while most players go to the extreme. Personally I go speed cause I do have time to play, so I need to sail fast and get things done fast. Others who want to make money and have time go for (advance) cause you can store a lot of trade items in one trip. However you can go balance if that's what your heart tells you as you can always build another ship later. (first ship always hard cause you are using a slow ship and collecting materials slowly) but once you up the first ship to fast carrack and use it to gather mats for 2nd ship, the second ship will be way faster to build. hi there, the bartalia sail boat doesn't have much skills, each ship when you mount it, can use P to check the ship skill and level requirement. Best to get an Epherial Sail boat or Frigate, depending on your final ship path, then do the (great expedition quest) so that you can get to Sailing Skilled 1, which unlocks the ability to use more skills =D thanks again for joining the discord. Hi, glad you have decided on the ship and hope you can subscribe to the channel and give this video a thumbs up like. There are 3 methods. Upgrade from Bartali sailboat but I don’t recommend this, it’s way too hard, second is craft it at port epheria which if you like to do gathering life skill and can wait, you can craft the design which in turns craft the frigate ,but does take a certain amount of effort. Last method is type frigate in central market, check the price. It’s way higher than other ships but it’s worth it, cause you skip bartali grade crafting altogether and can instantly get it. If u don’t have enough funds, then just save up first. Sell all enhancing materials, since on ocean you won’t be using caphras or back stones etc. Sell spare horses if you have. Check mail and black spirit safe, for anything that can sell to market place or npc. Literally empty everything to buy the frigate so u can get it ASAP and enjoy it. Which Ship Should I Upgrade To First?
Upgrade to Improved Epheria Frigate, if you don’t have a friend that can help you with sea monster hunting. It’s more difficult to hunt sea monsters solo with a lower tier ship. An Improved Epheria Frigate helps in fighting the sea monsters that drop the parts needed for the Galleass.
Upgrade directly to an Epheria Galleass if you have a friend that can help you with sea monsters. It will save you some time and cost, if you can skip the Improved Frigate and upgrade directly to Epheria Galleass.
Hi there, I think you might be abit confused and I recommend you come to discord to get help so that we can visually help you better.
First consideration is always to consider, are you going for end game bartering, or end game sea monster hunting.
if it is bartering (you are going sail boat path), if its (sea monster hunting, you are going frigate path).
Lets say if you are going frigate path, then using this as an example, do you want to upgrade towards:
Option A: Improved Frigate (lesser materials, can auto fire cannon) But later you still need another round of upgrade to Galleass.
OR
Option B: Directly to Galleass, though materials slightly harder to come by, but you can one shot do it to avoid 2 rounds of upgrade.
Personally, this is what i did:
I bought the Frigate (License from Central Market)
Spent 14 days upgrading it to option B, direct to galleass.
After that, continue to work on upgrading it to the final carrack.

What class is a Bartali Sailboat in?
consider it the lowest of all tier, class 0. its just a sailboat that lets you get "your very first ship" that goes really slow. If you are going for sea content, be it seagull hot spot fishing, or, bartering especially, you won't be using bartali sailboat, the speed to travel far and barter island to island for bartali sail boat just isn't going to cut it. For players who want ships faster, (Depending on your final outcome you are going for), you can buy either the Epherial Sailboat or Epherial Frigate from the market place. In SEA server, Frigate is way more expensive than sailbaot. is it now a good time to go into sea content?
Its a yes & no, for new players starting to craft ship, yes due to the recent ship material buff from drops, however, there is still a lack of support for later content that requires crow coin, its extremely hard to farm, so most people give up on it on the mid-late part. So you got to be mentally prepared. I just hope that the future works and buffs will provide more avenues to crow coin access, then it will be a good improvement to the sailing content as a whole for black desert online.

Hi David, not really, but some players just do it likely because the materials come easier through bartering of the first carrack and so, they just craft the next one and another. Some players prefer to use combat type for sea monster hunting while weight type for bartering to be more optimal in each situation also is a possible reason on top of that. Hi jmbrady, generally most players regret going balance so to share with you. Cause it doesn't have any specialty but I guess that's why it's called balance while most players go to the extreme. Personally I go speed cause I do have time to play, so I need to sail fast and get things done fast. Others who want to make money and have time go for (advance) cause you can store a lot of trade items in one trip. However you can go balance if that's what your heart tells you as you can always build another ship later. (first ship always hard cause you are using a slow ship and collecting materials slowly) but once you up the first ship to fast carrack and use it to gather mats for 2nd ship, the second ship will be way faster to build. @@TrinityOnline ty for the info, main reason I was thinking balance is cause I am one of those players that just hop in and come back every so often so I don't ever really have a focus aside from doing some gathering and crafting and I am almost always by myself in this game (also don't do bosses or things like that cause I don't know how to progress) but either way the info is extremely helpful
