Honestly it’s still working however I’m thinking of swapping it out for a better unit. This one seems to not have enough brake boost. I can’t even lock up my tires.
CharlieH I’m sorry I don’t know the exact name of that clip. I would call it a retaining clip, but I’m sure that’s not the name. I actually looked it up and it’s called CLIP. Brake Pedal Booster Push Rod Pin. You can find it at for $2 www.factorychryslerparts.com/showassembly.aspx?
I have a 1993 wrangler with 4cyl. I had the master cylinder replaced and then the brakes lost pressure. I have to pump the brake pedal in order to get pressure. I didnt lose pressure right away it was several months later. Is this a booster problem or do I need to bleed the brakes? I have checked the brake lines and see no leaks?
Brandon Bosley A few things could be bad 1. You have a bad master cylinder 2. Vacuum leak 3. Air in the line I would start with blessing your break lines, and then check for a vacuum leak and finally try replacing the master cylinder.
I have a 2012 Wrangler Sport 2 dr. First year for the 3.6 L V6. Lots of stuff in the way of the brake vacuum canister. No one has specific info. on this year and motor for this removal?
Hi, I have a '92 YJ Renegade. I noticed the brake pedal getting softer over the kast few weeks (I also had yo press it down further for braking) Then, yesterday, I lost almost all brake pressure (just a whooshing sound when i pumped the brakes). I checked the brake fluid level and the front brake reservoir was empty ( and it was full a dew weeks ago). And there were no leaks dripping down. I refilled it. I got good pressure back after pumping. I let the jeep sit all day and the brake fluid level was still good. Then as soon as i started driving, the pedal became soft again. (On an open stretch of a dirt road, I even turned off the engine to see if i can brake better but it was still soft. Now, the jeep is parked and i have the stiffness of the pedal there (as if everything is okay).so i am confused if I need to change the master cylinder, the booster, or both. Also, although only thr front brake reservoir was empty, I don't seem to have enough braking in the rear wheels either. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
So I ended up trimming the sleeve to make it fit. My next question sometimes but not all the time the brake pedal is not fully returning now. Seems mainly when I have to brake hard. I’ll get out and the brake lights will be on sometimes and just with a little pull on pedal they go out. Also I did a new master cylinder and booster at the same time and bled brakes and master. Any thoughts?
Honestly my peddle seems stiff after I put this booster on. However my peddle does fully return. Does yours feel like the booster doesn’t seem to help?
@markthomas4083 yea sorry when I make them is seems Quinn my screen. I will digitized out. Are you trying to remove it from the pedal or off the booster?
@@OFFAxisBuilds i apologize. I was angry in general. Yes, I feel stupid, the rod was able to disconnect had I moved the rod towards the center of the vehicle. I felt like a dim lit bulb. Your video was my go to! Thanks for posting your video, I apologize for sounding rude.
Thanks man fixing to do this on 93
Glad I could help. Thanks for the support and good luck to your repair
How is the brake booster going so far? im about to order one but not sure of what brand should i choose.

Hi good video, what’s the name of the clip attached on the brake pedal right where the booster is connected

It sounds like your master cylinder needs to be replaced.
@@OFFAxisBuilds Thank you so much for your opinion!!
I hope you are able to fix the issue.
Is that black plastic sleeve in important? It doesn’t fit over the new rubber boot on the new brake booster?
Honestly I can’t remember if I had a plastic sleeve or not.

Did you put the same brand on yours? I’m thinking of going to a bigger unit.
My brakes feel a lot better now. I got mine off rock auto. Would that adjuster rod have anything to do with the brake pedal return?
Damn, you didn’t show how to adjust that rod coming out of booster! Whole reason I watched
Honestly it wasn’t that hard to adjust. There should be about 1/4 of an inch slack in your peddle. If there isn’t any slack your pads will drag
Same here David. My push rod will not detach. I am trying hard to remove it. The music sent my blood pressure up to the red zone.
