This is a nice demonstration of the bypass, thank you. The cut-away you've made helps to understand the locking mechanism's normal operation and why the bypass technique is effective.
That lock you are using for demo purposes is flat out abused and used loose as a goose , because my 175 padlock that I have is so tight that nothing will fit between the wheels ! I took an old feeler Gauge and made myself a nice set of pics and some are very thin gauge steel and the ones that will fit are so thin they just wrinkle up like tinfoil I think it's time you go pick yourself up a new 175 lock and try it with one that's fresh out of the factory you'll find it's a whole different ball game...... In the meantime , Keep up the good work, I love your videos
Fearless Fred well they did make a new version of this lock that cant be bypassed this way! Im pretty sure this trick only works on the first version of this lock!
Had to crack open a padlock on my sick Dad's storage unit. Pushed in the shackle, ran a paperclip over the top of #3 roller....nothing. Tried it on the #2 roller.....and shazaam, less than five seconds. Gracias....
I just looked at my lock. The tolerances between the lock body and the wheels is very tight. The shim lever should probably be very thin to make it work. Hairpins are way too thick. The lock is good enough for a gym locker.
Yeah this won’t work using a lock pick as he shows it’s way too thick for it to work, I know, I’ve tested it on my own lock. They do however make a specialized tool just for this purpose. You can also make one out of a thin feeler gauge.
only problem is, is that the key to reset the combo wont work until the correct combination is dialed in, but theres another video showing how to find the combo.
prep stepper you most likely have the newer version! Which is bypassed differently but you still use the wheels to get it open! Check out the lock picking Lawyer
I was just going to say...especially with the new ones that are coming out. I brought a brand new one at home Depot and I tried a shim and nothing. Not even with a hammer 🔨 tapping against the side. Nada nothing.

Thanks.I forget the combination on my master lock 175,this helped me open it.Very informative
I've been trying to bypass it but no dice
tHanks....I got it. ( I had to both take pressure off and pull as well. The pull released it ).
That’s awesome. I’m glad The was able to help you out.
That is a nice cut-away.
Worked for me thanks, now how do I set a new combo on it
Hells Yeah!!!
thanks for an informative video. I made the tool from an old feeler gauge, and now I don't have to buy a new lock.
This is 2024. Didn't master make those wheels tighter so u can't get the shim in there?

Too shaky a hand hold to see what is being done.
Or maybe he's trying to help people save money so they don't have to go out and buy a new lock. When they loose or can't remember the code
I have one of these and the wheels are so close to the area where you put the pick in. Its damn near impossible to even get a bobby pin in there

Be nice to hold the lock still good grief
Does not work on all 175's. Dont drive yourself crazy like i did.
