What is the height of your room? I’m looking to get a Pax wardrobe the bigger one 236.4 Height but my ceiling is bang on 8 Foot and I’m seeing mixed messages people saying it is / isn’t possible to stand them up??
Hi Nancey, Me ceiling height is 8ft 1 inch so had a bit of clearance for 236cm height. However it was tight when I assembled on the ground and lifted up. I think You’ll be able to assemble the wardrobe standing up....just about, it’ll be very tight though!!. I had enough head room to build on the ground and then tilt upward. If you assemble the unit standing up it means you don’t have to tilt the full unit up. The hardest/tightest bit will be getting doors on which is where you need the head height if you are putting sliding doors on as they have to be lifted up above the height of the wardrobe If you are going to get a 236 height, you’ll need to have at least 2 people to assemble. You can pay to have Ikea to fit them though. I think it would be best for you to speak direct to Ikea in store if you can. They’re pretty good with advice.
Do I neeeeeeeed a drill to join the wardrobes together?
not really, but does help a lot and makes things quicker
The Patten Of Life I ended up having to borrow a drill from my neighbour 😂 I really need to get myself a drill and tool set
😂 It's a good investment iffff you're going to be doing more DIY, but they do cost a lot so know the feeling of not buying one!
