    Wonderful! I decided I want to do PAX built ins for my closet here in the states. You did such a great job on everything, even bridging the gap and making it seamless.

    How's the piece hiding the socket held in? How do you remove it if needed? I've got a socket somewhere similar and trying to think of ways to block the sides off but also access the socket if needed.

      I made it detachable by installing some magnets for the bottom piece 👍

    It looks amazing. Great job. I’ve got one question though.. did you spent more than purchasing the ikea pax itself?

    Did you use 3/4 inch MDF (medium density fiberboard) for the very top the units? Also, you mentioned you would explain why you left a gap in top piece, but you didn't address it.

      It is probably a grab adhesive, I use that on the coving as it’s very light😊

    How did you secure the blocks at the sides of the wardrobe? Screwed it in from the inside? Or glue?

    • @reno_with_us
      @reno_with_us  3 місяці тому

      Screwed on the inside behind the hinges & also used adhesive 👍

    How did you attach the cabinets to the closet? Doesn't it shift around?

    • @reno_with_us
      @reno_with_us  Рік тому +2

      It is secured by brackets, and also each cabinet is screwed together 👍

    • @BrooklynBurg

      Thank you! Would you happen to have a picture of those brackets? are they screwed into the wall or the closet? Apologies for the questions, novice DIY here:)@@reno_with_us

    • @reno_with_us
      @reno_with_us  Рік тому +2

      They are just standard “L” brackets. Screwed into the cabinet & the wardrobe to stop any movement 👍

      They look great. We'll done!
      Every other video I have watched has said you must screw the wardrobes to the wall, or else there is a chance that the wardrobe could topple forward.
      You haven't done so, so I would appreciate your opinion on whether you feel that they won't topple over now that you must have all your clothes and bits in them.

    • @fabianmckenna8197
      @fabianmckenna8197 3 місяці тому

      It's recommended to secure the wardrobes to the wall due to the risk of them falling forward when opening the doors. Warnings on first page of instructions.
      In this case he's using 200 cm wardrobes with the above recommendation but if you have 236cm wardrobes, then it's an absolute slam dunk to secure them solidly to the wall.
      Installed mine and added doors before securing them but made the mistake of opening both doors to show my wife..... wow, they pull forward sharpish!!

    The frame you built on top, did you secure it to the top of the PAX?

    • @reno_with_us
      @reno_with_us  4 місяці тому +1

      Yes i secured it with L brackets & sealant 👍

      @reno_with_us Thank you! This is the next bit of my pax hack and I've been struggling to figure out how to secure it. Were the brackets noticeable at the end? I guess at the top you hardly notice

    • @reno_with_us
      @reno_with_us  4 місяці тому +2

      No problem! The brackets will be hidden if you set them back enough 😊

      @@reno_with_us any rail that fits your Dewalt really. I’d go for one long enough to slightly overhang the longest cuts you typically make (whatever your typical MDF sheet dimensions are) so you can clamp it down. Linking lots of the shorter ones together risks your straight edge not being fully true. Many of the branded rails are compatible but worth double checking with your model. Great work on the DIY!

    • @djstuc
      @djstuc 8 місяців тому

      That model of circular saw isn’t rail compatible, the one that is costs a bit more.
      My recommendation is to buy a plunge saw that has its own rail setup. I use the Dewalt and the rail isn’t that good compared to say Makita etc.

    For the plug socket, you should have fitted an access panel inside the wardrobe
