Man!! That's alot of work! I applaud you and your spouse for taking on such a massive project and recording it for our viewing pleasure. I think I'll just take out a 2nd mortgage and call Audio Advice. Amazing job! I never even saw the speakers go in but I did see the cat dance while you were running REW and mastering the bass. These colors are close to my room Blue and Black, but repainting now as my wife complains it's too dark, auuggh! Congrats on the completion, great job. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic job man. I can’t imagine what that would’ve cost you to have a company do for you what you did for yourself and did it so darn well. I really like the color scheme too.
Great job! Watched the entire thing. The bulk of my work was done 12 years ago now. This brought me back to how much effort it took. Reminds me that I wouldn't want to do it again!
You are obviously a very skilled crafts man to have taken on this project singlehandedly! Your wife is a trooper as she was there right beside you working hard too! Great job finishing this off. This would have cost you an arm and a leg if you have to pay for a contractor to have done a job as good as this!
Believe it or not the tracks are all music that is available as free license use on UA-cam so I don’t recall the name of any of the tracks I used, sorry. Maybe you can use Shazam to determine them…
In the middle of each panel I used 3” screws painted flat black with 1” fender washers covered in the same fabric as the panels. In the gaps where panels join I use 6-hole mending plates wrapped in the same fabric
Nice build! Great job you guys did. I like the Regal roller coaster to get the feel of a real theater. If you have a vid showing the audio equipment that would be awesome. I love to see what people choose to install and of course the cost. BTW, what are the dimensions of the room?
Those beams under the upper floor must have cost a fortune. Wouldn't engineered trusses been chesper. The 2X12s seem like Overkill. But looks amazing. Im dreaming now.
Awesome job! Did you guys end up using any acoustic panel or other reverb/echo cancelling materials? I hate the look of acoustic panels, and I did not see any in your theater. So I am just looking for ideas.
I keep seeing this trend of taking a room with a huge window/exterior door area and people closing it off with drywall. What did you to to ensure you can still access that area from the interior for when it inevitably leaks? Why not delete the door and windows properly, and then turn that into a solid exterior wall?
The upstairs balcony is behind the screen. We live on the water in Florida so the exterior doors are hurricane rated sliding glass doors, unlikely to leak especially considering they’re on a covered patio. Wanted to maintain access to this patio which we did by installing the screen on hinges so the door can be accessed quickly. It takes less than 5 seconds to open and close the screen to walk behind it
Could demo this in a video or even a pic? I mean the opening and closing of the screen. I ask because I want to do this. Anyways, fantastic job you, wife, and the cat did! I'm blown away!🥹
Thumbs up from me for the Gojira shirt alone! \m/ \m/ . Oh, and there's a cat too? This video has everything!😄 Nice work. That home theater looks fantastic!
Love This Timelapse!!! Y'all worked so hard on this and it really shows! The finished Project is amazing!!!!! WELL DONE and thank you for sharing this timelapse!!!!!! Side note I loved that you were watching the Premier League, if you pause at 20:40 you get to see the Scoreline for Arsenal's 3-1 win over Tottenham HAHAHA #COYG #ArsenalFC
If you have any decent subwoofers, its going to vibrate everything. You raised floor only has loose fiberglass, should be packed cellulose where the plywood would compress it more. Behind the screen is like an amplifier for the subwoofers., too much hollow space, its going to leak out and disturb your neighbors. I couldn’t finish it, sorry but looks nice though.
I have four 21” subs each in a 10 cu ft ported enclosure, and two 6000-watt amps. There’s no vibration, this isn’t my first theatre build Filling the riser with cellulose would completely defeat the purpose of using the riser as a helmholtz resonator/bass trap, which is what it’s primary purpose is. Using REW I have flat response at all six seating positions and 129db. Windows are all two-pane hurricane shutters, not much sound makes it’s way out of the room, so no complaints from the neighbors either 😉
@@blue2gnt very nice. However, the subs push the air to make you feel it instead of hurting your ears, that in my opinion as to the best tactile response you should have. Everyone is different, just giving my opinion. The dual pane glass is what I have and there is no noise leaking out to the neighbors, good choice.
Sorry this is the most complex process of the build so not really possible to explain via UA-cam comments but lots of good info on the topic at the AVS Forum, or from the led vendor Wiedamark
Many times I see people putting a lot of time and money into building a theater and they only have something like a 100" 16:9 screen, which I don't understand at all. A 100" 16:9 screen is a big TV and not a cinematic experience. You did good here. Very nice.
I don't get these kind of cinema setups. People put in (what I assume are) good sound systems, but then have high-backed cinema style seating, which will just ruin the sound anyway. And in this case there's no sound dampening either? Huh? You basically just painted the room black, put in a screen, and added bad seating. :(
Not sure why you would think there’s no sound treatment. Other than the entire ceiling, both 100” long windows, and both rear doors, all of which are 1” rock wool and 2” OC703. In addition to the high-pile carpet.
@blue2gnt I'll have to watch the video again. It was hard to see what was put in, that's why I assumed not much. Regardless, my main point is the chairs are likely to cause issues regardless of any sound proofing. You lose a lot of the benefits of the proofing.
You can always mute it, assuming that is within your technical knowledge to click a little icon on the video. You don't lose anything by doing that since there is nothing to hear.
The cat supervised everything. No wonder it all turned out so well. Congratulations 😊
Boing!
Wow! 100% DIY? Jesus thats incredible
Kudos to you and your wife, for planning your work, and working your plan! The final result is amazing! Enjoy your new home theater!😄

Ok tell me you are an engineer without telling me. Amazing build, and extremely talented skills!
Pretty incredible, yall. Way to go!
I love the colors you used. The fiber optics in the ceiling are top notch. The cats are 10 out of 10!
Looks awesome. Thanks for sharing. Please do a room tour.
Just updated the description to include the AVS Forum link to the build thread which shows all the details and equipment. Thanks
Excellent Job Dude...and hats off to your wife for putting in hard work with you. 👌
Yep glad to see the cats helping out and supervising…. It looks like you’ve accomplished cat approval lol.
what a talented couple!
Love it! Alamo Drafthouse has a nice "Stay Quiet" movie pre-show for home theaters. It's awesome!
Nicely Done
Well dang! That looks incredible. Great job documenting that.
Great job! Watched the entire thing. The bulk of my work was done 12 years ago now. This brought me back to how much effort it took. Reminds me that I wouldn't want to do it again!
Sweet room. Can you do a full room tour and highlight the equipment you chose and why? Thanks again.
Just updated the description to include the AVS Forum link to the build thread which shows all the details and equipment. Thanks
@@blue2gnt I appreciate it. Your vid is inspirational to my build. I maybe reaching out to you for ideas if that is okay? Thanks again.
great cinema room
Nice job 😎
nice build turned out great ....
Impressive build. It's given me some great ideas for my future build. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely gorgeous the theater & the wife of that who she is u lucky guy lol

Beautiful results. Liked
Amazing
Looks beautiful. What brand of theater seats did you use and would you recommend them?
They are Palliser seats and yes I’m happy with them. I think at the price they were a pretty good value given the features
GOJIRA ! 🤘you're good tastes 😉
Epic!
Holy shit im at a regal cinema lol Nice touch
BEAUTIFUL!!!
Amazing work, please mention the name of the track that starts at 18:15, you have amazing taste for music 👌🏻🎶
Believe it or not the tracks are all music that is available as free license use on UA-cam so I don’t recall the name of any of the tracks I used, sorry. Maybe you can use Shazam to determine them…
Fantastic video, very impressive looking theater, great job!
How did you attach the duct board to the ceiling?
In the middle of each panel I used 3” screws painted flat black with 1” fender washers covered in the same fabric as the panels. In the gaps where panels join I use 6-hole mending plates wrapped in the same fabric
Flawless victory.

Awesome job man
Congrats dude! very nicely done!
wait until that upgrade bug kicks in!
What did you make your star ceiling out of, and how did you secure it?
AWEsome, Now sit back & relax... And Enjoy ur Work!!!🤩🤩🎚🔈🔉🔊🔊🔊🔊Turn it UP!!!!!!
Dude I loved this. You absolutely did a amazing job. I really was impressed with the ceiling. What exactly was those panels
Excelente, Paso de ser una habitación grande, para ser el mejor Cine en Casa que podría soñar
Great job, you two!
Those beams under the upper floor must have cost a fortune. Wouldn't engineered trusses been chesper. The 2X12s seem like Overkill. But looks amazing. Im dreaming now.
12” needed to get the necessary amount of rise. I think I was under $1200 all in for all lumber
Great job!!!
This is AMAZING! What adhesive did you use to put the fabric on the sound panels?
3M super 77
Room size?
Awesome job! Did you guys end up using any acoustic panel or other reverb/echo cancelling materials? I hate the look of acoustic panels, and I did not see any in your theater. So I am just looking for ideas.
Yes, 128 square feet of 2” OC703 (ceiling) and 64 square feet of 1” rock wool (window covers and rear closet doors)
That sub behind the screen could be used for CPR.

As a Chelsea fan always love to see Spurs lose
so ac vents are covered? did i see that correctly? hows that work
Covered only with acoustic fabric to black them out. They still flow as normal
Superb
Hooah! Well done Sir! Very tasteful plan...
What are the dimensions of your Theater?
13x25’

Good job/Buen trabajo
What are the dimensions on the room and the size of the screen??
13x25’ with 13’ screen (144x60”)
Hello! I live in French Polynesia and I want the contact of the people who build the sofa for this room cinema please.
Palliser is the manufacturer
Looks great what equipment are you using and what size is your screen and what speakers? 😊 oh and what size is your room?
Check the description for the link to my AVS forum post with all of this detail 😉
what are those softwares at the end? I just know audyssey and dirac
Hah I found that REW
Chairs should of been black. Would of really tied the room more together.
Thanks to the cat, it turned out well.
How did you build and attache the starlights?
Sorry this is the most complex process of the build so not really possible to explain via UA-cam comments but lots of good info on the topic at the AVS Forum, or from the led vendor Wiedamark
Hi what is the dimensions of the screen frame?
144x60”
How big is the screen?
13'
Alot going on here! You have a great vision and skill! Are you a contractor by trade?
Hi, thank you. No I'm not, just a home theatre enthusiast
What brand of hush box did you use?
I built the bush box
Sir Kitana kharca aaya hai
what calibration software are you using
REW for audio. Hired a calibrator for video
I am concerned about the AC. Florida gets hot and the vents were covered.
They are not covered, the air passes easily through the black material which is acoustic fabric
come on.... where are the stats?! hahaha What gear do you have?
Just updated the description to include the AVS Forum link to the build thread which shows all the details and equipment. Thanks

Yes, constant image height setups are the best thing to happen to home theaters in a long time

the screen seems too low
It’s about 20” from the floor. A bit high, if anything, because the seats recline down to like 18”
In the end, rather than showing the cinema, you showed just the screen. 🤷🏽♂️
Wow!! & for what was shown from the side it looks amazing, seems a little “ sopranoie” endind
You’re right, but I was looking forward to see the structure from the opposite perspective. 🥺
I can`t see no air conditioner ¡
It’s well concealed 😉
Get some curtains in very bare

that music is so bad, I had to mute the video and just skim through it.
This background music...no. I won't watch the video.
