This book is a comprehensive guide for anyone who wants to create various types of garden buildings. The book provides clear and detailed instructions with numerous photos. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBE-xSmFU7PIaMFUmmhnFxE035s5svtxeAs a novice, I appreciated the book's step-by-step approach to the basics of building. The book also appeals to the more advanced DIY enthusiast with projects ranging from simple to complex. The book is up to date with the latest trends, such as solar panels, green roofs, and sweet chestnut shakes. The book has inspired me to pursue more projects in the future.

When building a studio, listening space or home theatre from scratch you can actually negate having to use acoustic panels at all. If you use high quality insulation in the walls like OC703 you can use acoustically transparent cloth (like you used to cover the speakers) to cover the entire walls rather than sheetrock, essentially turning all of your walls into acoustic panels. If you use cloth on the ceiling too and some sort of metal mesh to hold the insulation you can even turn your ceiling into a giant bass trap.
Then instead of building absorption panels to hang on the walls, you can build diffusion panels to add diffused, controlled reflections back into the room so it doesn’t sound uncomfortable and borderline anechoic.

@@kiwibird8441 If it is installed correctly and fastened to the ceiling beams it will not rattle at all.
The only possible acoustic issue would be resonance, but if there is acoustic insulation resting on the metal mesh that will absorb and mute any resonances.
You could also just use extra wooden beams to hold the acoustic insulation in place if you are worried about metal rattling or resonating, but it will add more hard surfaces and therefor more reflections.

Looks good. For future reference, the sheet rock needs to be about a 1/2” above the floor in case of water, no joints in line with the door. Have it split over the door if necessary. Opening and closing on the door will cause cracks on the seam from the stress.

This has to be the best start to finish theater build I've ever seen. Great room. I'd have gone with 6 seats so nobody's right next a speaker but perhaps you had capacity goals that trumped that. Also some diffusion might help with mid/high energy distribution since you only added absorption. Anyway, thanks for sharing your fantastic build loaded with high quality products. When I was in the Army I was deployed to Iraq 3 times. I had ordered a projector online during my first tour and used it in the Concrete Air Craft hanger that the Iraqi's used to house MIG fighters in. But it became our tank repair shop during that tour. I used 2x4s and plywood to make the base. Then I painted it white. Then I installed 3 white bed sheets over it because just 1 sheet allowed wood grain and blemishes from the plywood to show. And allowed the light to bleed through and reflect back creating a glare. So I used 3 sheets and that enhanced the bright lights and made for a clear picture at night. We would watch burned copies of movies and TV shows at nights we were off work. The hanger was pitch black at night so it made for a great theater. I had 2 home stereo speakers that I had wired up in my M113a1 track and a Xbox 360 and TV as well inside it. So I just wired the Audio to my M113a3 and propped the projector on the Tracks top deck. When we were done I would just take the projector down and raise the back ramp and close up for the night.
By my 2nd tour I had pelican cases and stuff ready so when we go into country and had all our military equipment setup I could then work on the theater lol. The 2nd time I did an outdoor theater out back of the motorpool. Allot of soldiers for other sections and units used to come over with us and watch movies. It got pretty popular especially when I got my hands on a copy of Rock Band for Xbox lol. It became our Sunday thing to grill some hot dogs and chill out from the weeks work. We were never truly off duty but Sunday was more or less our off day. By the 3rd tour I was in full stride with the projector thing lol. I even inspired some grunts to buy a mini DvD player and small projector that they used to shoot movies onto the side armor of other MRAPs they convoyed with. It was something that benefitted more than myself and gave other soldiers a few moments of relaxation during some rough times. I still have a projector in my home and like to watch movies and such using it. I never had a home THEATER setup. But I never really needed one I guess lol.
