Are you worried about having removed that plastic sheeting that protects from moisture?

Fill the door as best as you can with low pressure expanding foam or a few sheets of closed cell foam or pack it with oem fibre wool obviously not so it doesn't get in the way of the window when it comes down. Then use a thin layer of closed cell foam on the back of the door card before you stick it back down or used sound deadening putty. Also use an extra set of aftermarket stick on door seals to seal the wind noise away a bit better. I covered my entire door in 2mm silent coat. Sounds like your closing the door on a Mercedes lol! Also where the door hinges at the front you can cover the entire face of the door with stick on foam so when it closes it nips it in place and seals wind noise even better.

john creed only now seeing this. I have purchased new door cards which I will be having a new sound system. I will have a 6” speaker either side. I have decided I am going to go for 2mm of Silent coat for the purpose of sound deadening. Do you put that against the door card or the metal door on the inside? What is the best way to do combat sound deadening and also sound quality coming out of the speakers? On completion of the sound deadening I will be putting a plastic membrane to stop rain ingress in the van...
