Well it was clearly Björn swearing so I don't see what Magnus has to do with it.

Best line of the vid 😂
THIS HAD ME IN TEARS
My favorite thing about Bjorn is how he applies the powder on his hands 😂 Pain is temporary, power is forever 🤣
Chalk Bae
Pain is temporary, powder is forever
i think he un-learned it since the last time, before he was chaking up like a pro
that salt bae chalk application
It was like he was sprinkling pixy dust
His “beginners style” is so on point, it’s pretty incredible he doesn’t accidentally default to doing some awesome stuff
It’s funny, he’ll be all wobbly and unsure, and then reach out and grip a hold like a laser guided missile.
Even that shaking legs at one climb was on point
And his first dismount on the v0 is perfect of someone who’s a novice.

She is amazing!
For real! He's being toxic talking about the way it looks for the cameras and beating his rival and she keeps it cool.
shouldve watched the last episode
On first inspection I couldn't tell that this was a new video, might be worth tweaking the thumbnail/title to grab attention. Either way, great stuff as always Magnus, keep up the good work.
Besides the awesome instructor I found it very impressive how Magnus managed to go so convincing through all the steps of learning bouldering/climbing. It was very instructive to see how different tension, movement, position of ones body makes such a difference between a beginner and an experienced climber. Love it!
11:59 Magnus - “I’m not very strong”
Coach - “yeh”
😂😂😂
"Take that Fredrick, you piece of shit"
I'm dying.
Magnus' ability to emulate the movement of a brand new climber so well speaks to his actual mastery and understanding of movement on a wall. Incredible stuff as always Magnus!!
Honestly its pretty helpful to me as a somewhat beginner climber- really clearly shows the differences between what you should and shouldnt do
I was searching for this comment, it's amazing how bad he can climb :D
😂 it’s like wait that’s how I climb
I think he overdid it at some points this time
It is funny how by the time he gets to V9, he has to dial back the functional errors a lot (e.g. shoulder engagement) and substitute for aesthetic ugliness (e.g. slamming into the shoulder, but only after getting the jug in position).
I didn't know Magnus was such a great actor. When he started shaking trying to climb that V4, it was hard not to think he was really struggling 😅
Frrr
To be fair he made all routes at least a couple of grades harder for himself by waiting for instructions between moves, grabbing holds the wrong way etc. Still impressive acting though, and must be hard to go against his instincts like that!
Man this is so refreshing. I really hesitated to click on this worrying that it was going to be some kind of trolling of some poor unsuspecting gym employee, but it was super wholesome and uplifting for all parties. Thanks for doing such a good job
Absolutely. I had the same fear with the last video like this. But he does a great job making it sweet and funny. Not embarrising and awkward.
Bjorn is a man of many chalking techniques and they all make me laugh uncontrollably
The "Icelandic Sprinkle" is taken directly from their culinary technique. The rule is you double the route rating number in CMs for sprinkle height. Now of course in cooking you use the oven temperature for height.
I busted out laughing at 8:50, so silly!
@@jfat4 that was the basic "Fredrick Patty-Cake" technique. Named after the lame way Fredrick (who is also lame) applies his "powder". It was a gentle snub at Freddy, before Bjorn decided to let loose.

Climbing is one of the most welcoming sports community since it is mainly personal progression. A lot of gyms have meetup groups that help you find belay partners too
I just started climbing and its such a blast. You should find a local climbing place and give it a shot. Some of them have a discounted or free first time. You might just get hooked.

I've been watching Magnus for years. I always told myself, if I ever slim down enough, I wanna start climbing, but there's no way I can start now with my body type.
This awesome coach has shown me I can start as I am. So thank you Magnus and THANK you Sophia.
super wholesome dood, love the guy but you don't have to be magnus to climb, its for everyone! good luck
Hi there, you can definitely start climbing, irrespective of BMI.
I have a guide here, and it says that it is safe (low injury rare) to climb 4a-c when your bmi is 27. So when you start climbing when your bmi is even higher, you can definitely start on 2s or 3s with low injury rate.
And my experience is that when you start climbing, you will start gaining muscle really fast, which helps A LOT with fat burning.
So..... You should definitely try climbing! You can probably pair up with someone your level at the gym. Climbing people tend to be the quite relaxed go with the flow type. And encourage eachother.
So you've been fat for years, stuffing your face and you want to climb? In all of those years you've been watching Magnus you could have slimmed down already. Stop being fat, go make a plan and do something good for yourself bro.
I mean if you start now it'll help with slimming down no doubt
The best part of climbing as an exercise routine is that it’s damn fun, addictingly so. Once you get into it, motivation is no problem. Unless you want to do any other form of exercise again.
Him trying to fake a Nordic accent when he already has one was really funny lol
If I decide to do this again I will need a new character🥸 Let me know who I should be in the comments below!
be an italian
you have to become what you hate… be Fredrik
Peter Parker 🤣🤣
I think you are capable of doing a "quaint British accent" fairly convincingly.
Definitely wear a long hair wig
Love how fixated Björn is with the height of the wall, I assume that's typical trait for people new to climbing
as a new climber, i was definitely fixated on this on my first day. then i quickly realized it doesn't matter lmao
Yeah very much whenever I tell people I climb 9/10 that’s what gets asked
I'm a beginner and no, that thought didn't even cross my mind. It seems silly to be fixated on height when I specifically chose to do low-height climbing (bouldering) instead of greater-height climbing (roped).
I also didn't do any of the other things that Magnus did in an attempt to appear beginnerish, such as not sticking to the colour of the climb (how hard can understanding colour-coding be lol), using the descent holds (i.e. those grey ones you're only supposed to use while descending) while climbing up, pant so much (or at all), etc. I think all of those things might be stereotypes that advanced climbers have of beginners that don't actually hold true in reality.
@@maxkho00 I don't think it is wrong stereotypes. I think he is just pretending to be someone who only heard of rock climbing from his coworker who claims he climbed a V3. He is not a beginner, but rather he is someone who just found out rock climbing is different from jumping a fence. Your starting point is different than Bjorn's. You did research and know about the color coding. Bjorn only knew that if he climbs whatever a V4 is he beats his coworker.
@@maxkho00 I've seen beginners do all of the things he did 😂Some people pick it up faster than others. Also some people are color blind, so seeing which holds to grab can be difficult for them
Those climbing instructors are just the nicest people. And smart. They know their stuff. This is so wholesome.
This one coach had a different style, which I enjoyed a lot. She started off trying to make sure her student was safe, but then immediately spotted his talent and let him try stuff out.
That smile after climbing down from the warm-up route was hilarious. Magnus did well to hold it together.

I love the level of your acting skills. The anticipation in chalking up or the way you ask questions and your motivation is really good. Along with forcing his arm to show heavy muscle twitch as if it's an intense strain when he can easily handle the given static pose.

@@juanbandera4415 I know what you mean but still Magnus did a great job at faking sloppy bad technique climbing. Hilariously so!
Once you're good, being bad takes practice. I think he did a better job this time than the first Bjorn video. His foot bouncing and hanging farther away from the wall than necessary, flailing his feet etc... He did it better in this video
@@juanbandera4415 you could fake being bad because you really are bad 😂😂, joking.
I reckon with all your years of experience, if someone pretend to be bad/beginner you'd pick up on something being suss pretty quick, even if you couldn't put your finger on it.
