      Yeah...not even close.
      Maybe in basketball, but there has NEVER been an athlete more dominating or physically imposing than Aleksandr Karelin. Look up his wrestling record and weight division. To be that consistent for that many years in wrestling let alone in that division is unheard of before or since. He is the greatest athlete to ever exist by a long shot.

      Your probably right. After watching all these highlights of Jordan, I noticed how he leans so far forward as he’s coming down the court with the ball. It seems like he’s almost about to stumble he pushes it so fast and hard. I cannot even imagine someone coming along who will be greater than he was ... I just don’t see it.

    Drive to the basket/break down the defense! As they all collapse toward you, dunk over whom ever's in front of you or kick it back to the open teammate for the uncontested shot! Sounds easy right?! Throw in the Celtics, Pistons, Knicks, Heat hitting you every trip to the paint, then you playing defense "for real" at the other end! Nobody's ever done it better!

    The Michael Jordan Archive is not complete until you post the dunk where Jordan met the Suns' Charles Barkley, chest to chest, in front of the rim, reached over him to dunk the ball, which sent Barkley onto his back underneath the basket. Jordan hung on the rim looking down Barkley, who was flat on his back on the ground. Jordan let go, split his legs so as not to land on Barkley, did a 180 spin switching places with his legs, and ran back up the court. Barkley peeled himself up off the floor and jogged back down the court shaking his head back and forth...
    I believe it was in Phoenix as I don't recall the crowd going ballistic. I think it wasn't a Finals game, but I could be mistaken.
    This is the most POWERFUL dunk I've ever seen, because he literally pummeled Charles Barkley by GOING THROUGH HIM, not around him, or simply knocking him off balance.

    MJ is one of my favorite players. A frustration for MJ (and me) was that out of all the superstars that were around during this era of the 80s, the only star player/team he never defeated in a playoff game was Larry Bird's Celtics. He was 0 for 6 against the Celtics during the time when Bird was still playing. As great as MJ was, it still takes a balanced (and deep) team to win championships and they started coming when the Bulls finally put some other talent around him to build those teams.

    Man times have changed. I can't even imagine a Jordan playing in todays game with a defensive 3 seconds which prevents 4-5 guys crashing at once. Jordan could average 45-50 in today's game.

      Are you kidding??? When Jordan played you had to stay above the foul line. The lane was much more wide open than in today's game. Defensive 3 seconds was a compromise to make it easier to guard people in the paint (ie Shaq)

    • @alexh8613
      @alexh8613 3 роки тому

      @@larryhoods I didn't say that defensive 3 seconds helped a defense. I said that what they had before Defensive 3 seconds, was much worse for defenses. Defensive 3 seconds was the compromise. The NBA wanted to lessen the impact of players that dominated the lane (ie Shaq). But they didn't want to go full college basketball rules where you could just pack the paint with defensive players. So as a compromise, they put in defensive 3 seconds. Where you could pack the paint with defensive players, but they couldn't stay there for more than 3 seconds. Before the rule change in I believe 2001, if the player that you were guarding was above the 3-point line, you were not allowed to play defense below the the foul line unless you were double-teaming the player with the ball. If you stepped below the foul line, it was a technical foul after the first warning. Because of this rule it opened up the lane because defenses couldn't sag off.

    • @larryhoods
      @larryhoods 3 роки тому

      @@alexh8613 but now there's no hand checking, an extra "eurostep" bs, and way more shooters. Plus less physicality. The game significantly benefits the offense in today's game. That's why MJ's accomplishments under those rules with the lack of shooters in the game makes it more amazing

So dangerous from every part of the court. And then look at LeFraud. He looks more like Shaq with his minimal skills. No dribble. No foot work. No shot. Always needing a screen. No free throw consistency. There is no comparison. Media needs to stop trying to fool the sheeple.

    Even white guys had muscular definition back then, today there so few that have that Type II.A muscle fibers that are so important for basketball.

      Hey dude with stupid comment. I can pick any random game from any great player that in which said player didn’t always have a masterful game. So bring critical of Lebron for how a game turned out is idiotic.

    This was the pro ball back then? 3 guy on the perimeter passing left and right until they find the one guy that can shoot on the Celtics? If they just had average 35% shooters from three for all 5 guys, defense would collapse immediately and that's what's happening today. I wonder why it took so long for that to be implemented.

    People can talk about how un athletic the Celtics was but as a TEAM they were strong as hell. look at the Bulls in the 90s themselves...half the team was not athletic was them together and under leadership they played to their best...so all this shit about Lebron makes players better but in the same breath they say he has no help lol
