    Thank you for explaining the Remco water pump features, swap out of existing pump and the casual critical mention of the Govee Water Sensors. I will be installing shortly a complete PEX plumbing system in my RV and plan to use this Remco variable speed water pump, Apollo Valves APXPRV34WG Water Pressure Regulator w/Gauge and water sensors within different locations to monitor complete system. Appreciate all the info

    Very Nice! With the main power lines both being mostly white, you could invert the spade connectors on only one of them so that if you ever unplug the pump later, and you manage to forget which one was positive/negative, you don’t have to worry about it since the connectors are not reversible. If you do that, make sure the positive supply line had the shield around it to protect it from bumping a ground and popping a fuse. I think in your case, I’d flip the ground connector around.

      It’s funny you say that as I thought of doing it after the fact while I was editing the video together lol

    I would put reinforced flexible 1/2" on the pump to a push on sharkbyte fitting. You can eliminate a lot of noise and vibration that way.

    • @WhyNotRV
      @WhyNotRV  Рік тому

      Great addition here. Flexible tubing is always a good idea to help reduce vibration and overall transfer.

    Great instructional video. Not being familiar with models of pumps, are these pretty standard sizes for 5th wheels?

    • @WhyNotRV
      @WhyNotRV  2 роки тому +1

      Yes. With pretty much all RVs. There is some variances but most all will fit any rig

    A couple of other tidbits would be anti-vibe, plate, loops in and out of the pump and shrink tube electrical connectors good video

    Great video. How would you compare the noise level between the 2 pumps? Thanks.

      I would say it’s pretty similar on full blast but for just one water fixture being on it’s much quieter

    Happy Sunday! Checking in to see if you’ve been running the variable speed pump and to find out if there have been any problems related to the 65 psi🙂

      It’s been great so far. Absolutely no issue with the pressure it puts out

      Thanks for the quick response. Btw…. It appears that you do installs of the victors products, if that’s the case how do you work that out? ( I’m not on the social media platforms)

    • @peterlongton7507
      @peterlongton7507 2 роки тому +1

      OK🙂I’m a Happy Camper now🤣🤣(pun intended)… so I have a separate question relating to your Reflection install video. Do I need to remove the existing battery kill switch and what did you do with the original busbar and wiring. ( so appreciate the help)

    • @WhyNotRV
      @WhyNotRV  2 роки тому +1

      In that particular install I essentially redid the entire DC system and just tied back in the original DC system to my new DC bus bar system. I got rid of a disconnect and talked with the owner of the rig about it. He didn’t want another one put back in. If he ever needs to disconnect he can just undo the negative at the shunt.

    • @peterlongton7507

      So did you actually remove the cables on the left side here the original cutoff was?

    I've been thinking of installing an accumulator. Maintain pressure reduce hammering and short cycling quiet operation well worked on my boats. Any thoughts or comments

    I would put a positive connector on one wire and negative on the other wire so, if I had to swap the pumps in the future the wires wouldn’t accidentally get hooked up backwards. (Not saying I have done that before 🤪)

      I agree fully. I realized that after I did it and was editing the video lol

    Good morning, my pump came in yesterday (the box was beat to hell😕). My question is: we normally run our reflection at 45psi and the pump says 65psi. Will the unit always try to get to 65psi? And wouldn’t that be too much in the lines(especially if they were in a hurry when they built it) also, I didn’t receive any gaskets as I noticed the yellowish one you put on yours, I only got the part that snaps in… thanks for helping

    • @WhyNotRV
      @WhyNotRV  2 роки тому +2

      As for the pressure, yes it will try to maintain 65psi at all times. Our rigs plumbing is pex as most are and have been that way for a while. They’re designed to operate from 80-160psi all day so the 65psi is safe and fine. As for the gaskets, I just reused what was in the fittings. The pump coming with male threading on it I don’t believe had new gaskets.

  • @deanhauser6626
    @deanhauser6626 Рік тому +1

    Good explanation, I'm considering this pump but concerned about the 65psi for my 31 year old motorhome even though grey plastic pex looking pipe says 100psi rating. Do you use a tankless water heater? If so which one do you prefer and why?

    • @WhyNotRV
      @WhyNotRV  Рік тому

      You should be perfectly fine on the psi rating. I do not have a tankless system. Sorry

    I'm eager to hear how the pump is working out. I've been thinking about installing one. But I'm concerned if it will still short cycle at low flow/trickle. The motor can only spin so slow but it has the internal bypass as well. Do you find it to short cycle any? We mostly camp without water hooks, so we use our onboard water and pump 90% of the time.

    • @WhyNotRV
      @WhyNotRV  2 роки тому +1

      It’s been great for us. A few months later now and I definitely love it. You are correct , a motor only goes so slow. But it doesn’t necessarily short cycle but at a low trick will cycle. If that’s some you do often to conserve water, I would install a pressurized storage tank. Something small. 1/2 gallon or whatever you can find. That will solve short cycles

      @@WhyNotRV Thanks for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it! I thought about trying it with and without an accumulator to find the best results. Also thought about buying the smaller variable pump. We never run multiple water fixtures. Just want good constant flow and pressure in the shower.

    • @WhyNotRV

      That’s always the goal. Let me know what you come up with and your end results.

      Have a look at the IRVWPC. I boondock exclusively and just installed one. Zero short cycling/surging from a trickle to full speed, pump is virtually silent now. Highly recommended. The safety features are a bonus too.

    I’m just curious how noisy this pump is? Not going in a RV but in a kitchen for a water dispenser and ice maker that requires 65psi. I was going to install it in a cabinet but I’ve read the aquatec brand variable speed is way too loud. Curious on your thoughts.

      I would say if it’s right in a cabinet in that room… ya you’ll be annoyed by it. It’s quieter than a standard rv water pump but I definitely wish it was quieter

    How about if you point your shower head up at like waist height does the water spray upwards or just dribble around the shower head would love to see that... It;s what i hate the most about our pump

    • @WhyNotRV
      @WhyNotRV  2 роки тому

      That’s probably more the head itself. The pump definitely pushes the psi that’s needed. I switched to a different shower head (video on the Channel) which puts out significantly more pressure and saves after. I could hold it facing up at waist high and it shoot past my face. I’m 6’.

    I probably would have fabricated a bypass loop and plumbed the new pump into that loop and left the original pump in place, then if something happens to the new pump while out on the road, all you have to do is close two valves and open two others to isolate the new pump and put the old pump back in service in one minute.
