Springfield beckons us, once again, into the jaws of culinary madness with this unfortunate take on middle-American cuisine: cheeto, root beer, and hot dog noodles. Normally Bart's favorite, after an encounter with a wealthy doppelgänger, it becomes the subject of revulsion by the normally-sugar-addled youth. I love all of the new and different avenues the BCU has taken, but I've definitely missed this old style of Babish making the absolute worst recipes he can find as accurately as possible and then reworking them to be palatable. It's great stuff.

I think the extra salt is due to the sodium in the rootbeer , actually soda has alot of salt in it so if rendered down it would be a sweet and salt sauce

This is patently false. Most sodas have only fractions of a gram of salt per serving. 2 cups of A&W would only be 85mg, or 4% daily value.
It's why I add a bit of cola to homemade BBQ sauce 😁
This is one of the episodes I did not expect to see, but I'm still glad it exists. To be fair, you did the morning burger, so I shouldn't be surprised.

I am impressed by this improved version - incorporating cheetos and rootbeer into pasta isn't easy. I think for hotdogs you could use some kind of sausage - maybe italian, maybe polish (I actually used to eat spaghetti with sliced/diced and fried polish sausage and tomato sauce as a kid, it is quite tasty). It would be closer to hot dog, I think - there are even some hot dogs using it.
I think this officially makes you a master of the dark arts of cooking. You actually made that nightmare of a dish into something I'd be willing to try.
Babish, this is absolutely disgusting and I can't wait to try it for myself.

I vote he's a homeless man living in an air vent at the power plant. He cooks weird mutated stuff and the smell lures Homer into the vents with great difficulty after the delicious smell puts him off normal food and he gets thin. Once in the vents the plant is taken over by what we assume are terrorists like in Die Hard. Waylon Smithers turns out to be working for the terrorists and Homer speaking from the vents convinces Smithers to turn on them. But in the end it is all just a tax dodge by Burns to avoid nuclear inspections under a loophole in the patriot act.
In case anyone is wondering I wrote this on the verge of throwing up for unknown reasons. Just like the real writers on the Simpsons.
This one just popped into my head, but Toriel's Butterscotch Cinnamon pie from Undertale/Deltarune would be a fun episode.

Just when i thought that this was the most awful meal that babish has ever made. Intriguing idea nonetheless.
As much as I love Fantastic Mr Fox and this idea, goose liver pâté is pretty much just Foie Gras, which is super unethically made and farmed, even by like factory farm standards. This means it's banned many places and is also not the sort of thing that would be the best to promote

Nice i like these “weird” foods the most and how you make them edible. I learn more from the experimentation than straight up instructions.

It must be such a euphoric feeling when a total shot-in-the-dark made up recipe derived from a cartoon gag meal turns out to be mind bogglingly delicious.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever tried making a sandwich from tbe 60's series Dragnet called a garlic nutbutter sandwich? It's 2 pieces of pumpernickel - one piece has peanutbutter spread on it, the other piece has cream cheese spread on it. Then take a clove of garlic and using a garlic press squeeze it over the piece with the cream cheese letting the garlic juice and pieces fall onto the cream cheese and spread them evenly with a butter knife. Put the two pieces together to complete the sandwich. The episode was called the big weekend and is probably still on youtube.
This is such an obscure moment but I've been hoping you'd make this because this dish has been in the back of my mind ever since I saw that episode. Thank you

You could probably do something savory and nice with sarsaparilla. Sarsaparillas have a lightly more herbal flavor profile. Though that could differ, depending on the exact recipe used.
The best part is how easy it is to turn your private space into a surveilance tool for the cops.
