I've got to tell a quick story a couple of decades ago I took my late mom to a Marty Stuart concert in Springfield, Illinois and when the fan club went back stage we were able meet Marty. The great part of the story is that we are directly related to Marty as our great grandmother's were sisters and my mom spent part of her childhood living near Marty's dad in Philadelphia, MS. My mom explained the family connection and Marty called my Mom his "Uptown Cousin". He was very warm and gracious to her. She mentioned that story for years, it was a great memory for her. Thank you Marty.

The best station on SiriusXM. Unfortunately, not everyone is able or willing to spend the money to subscribe. I always thought it was stupid to pay for subscription radio (even if it eliminated commercials), but thankfully I came to my senses in 2017.
Today's country radio is just like every other pop radio station. They play what they're told to play.

Marty Stuart is a blessing to all performers regardless of genre. Marty has held on to what makes county music fabulous. The old and the new are represented in Marty's mucic covers all musical styles. One can hear: rock and roll, blues, blue grass, gospel, jazz, traditional hill music, folk, pop, and most importantly an open mind to every type of music he encounters. An important lesson he has taught from his early career right up to today's latest styles. He has a commitment to his faith in Jesus that allows him to be the loving human we love. Unfortunately not going to be going through Merced, but he will be in the Bay Area next Sunday (4/30/23), somewhat close by, going to be there myself and can't wait.

Marty, once again, I have to stand up and aplaud.
First of all: real country music is mostly gone and one of the very few, real deal living legends actively putting out radio marketable material to combat the seemingly woke direction country music has taken in the last 15 years is Marty Stuart and The Fabulous Damn Superlatives. Athough a few new artists seem reasonably promising, the vast majority of what we loved about 80's/90's country and absolutely 1960/70 classic country is dead. But Damn Marty's still got it! This guy will go down as an EPIC legend of country music in the distant future similar to the cult following of Django Reinhardt, or Chet, or Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams, Cash, Waylon....etc
Marty Stuart is a an indisputable pillar of country music history. The Clarence tele itself will be a legend, like leathers on Waylon, or the tuffdog of hags, or the micawbre, etc. Marty's guitar tone through a Princeton is very unique to Marty in an recognizable, often copied way, I think those are velvet hammer pickups, and they have a eq thing in the high mid that sustains like a steel which plays into the bender licks ....it's exceptional in a retro-hipster-twangy-telecaster vibe. And the band..... grooving in a james Burton/TCB way but in the context of The Tennessee Three. Kenny is a legend in the"Legendary -Cult-guitar-slinger" crowd/Don Kelley school of guitar alumni.
Thanks Marty Stuart,et al, for being future generations ' inspirational heroes (hopefully).

I say this as a bass player: imagine being in a band so full of great tele players that you put Chris Scruggs on the bass.

Just saw Marty and the Superlatives a couple of weeks ago in El Cajon for the first time. While it was a fantastic show, we were very disappointed that he didn't play this song, or any others from their current album, with the exception of Tomahawk and Space (would have loved to hear Sittin' Alone or Time To Dance). Hey Marty, I love you, but please have some faith in your newer material, and remember that you do have newer fans that are coming out to see you based on your current material. If you doubt it, just notice that this video has been watched over 400,000 times!
