Jordan I give you all the credit in the world for being thoughtful commentator of the Trans woman experience. I think it incredible that you share your thoughts in a manner where it's more of an educational experience versus a us versus them delivery. the trans community needs voices like yours, a delivery that is easy to understand and not offensive to viewers who seek to understand what makes a trans woman! Keep it up sis! ♥💯

i agree with you, im a transfeminine person also but when people ask me how i define myself, i just tell them i'm a "feminized male". I dont identify as a woman and am pretty much down with any pronouns so long as the person using them is being genuine and kind about using them.

You have every right to how you see yourself, but I don't agree about being biologically bound to sex. Many females can be born with male chromosomes therefore technically "biologically male". Also, women with down or turner's syndrome don't have the traditional XX chromosomes. Does this make them less of a woman? What about older women who go through menopause and no longer get periods and can't give birth? Let alone millions of younger women who don't experience periods and/or pregnancy. In regard to women's sports, while I do believe there should be regulations, many people seem to forget women have biological advantages over other women. For example, a 6ft woman is going to have an advantage over a woman who is 5ft2 in a game of basketball. Limiting women to biological markers only limits the diversity of a woman simply existing.

For millennia we haven’t relied on chromosomal tests and knowing menstrual health to tell which ones are women. Line up babies naked and put them in one of the two groups based on which ones their nodes most resemble. The ones with the man bodies will receive different hormones upon sexual maturity than the other group. Women don’t identify as women because of men’s society or perception. Men aren’t the deciders. Women identify themselves based off of criteria which trans women do not meet.

A person with Down Syndrome is either a man or a woman with XX or XY. The difference is they have three copies of chromosome 21 ( trisomy 21) giving them a total of 47 chromosomes instead of 46. It is completely absurd to draw any comparison between their biological situation and a transgender woman! I have a son with Down Syndrome so I am involved in that community and they are the most comfortable people with their identity on every level that you could ever meet. I have never met or even heard of a transgender person with Down Syndrome which is the only reason they deserve pause for thought around gender identity. They accept who they are with joy, are totally non-judgemental and wear their heart on their sleeve.
The situation you reference in females is very rare and known as gonadal dysgenesis or Swyer Syndrome. Due to genetic mutation they have androgen insensitivity. This condition is rare and can by no means be an explanation as to why there are so many people with gender identity issues.
Women who are post menopausal are still biological females and produce estrogen so aging is not a marker for changing female sex identification. Similarly female children are no less worthy of being called girls just because they haven't had female puberty
Biological men who chemically transition themselves by essentially cosmetic modifications through exogenous hormones and surgeries do not render themselves female as their chromosomal presentation is still male. They are still much larger than bio females and have been exposed to testosterone so they have larger muscle fibers and more fast twitch muscle even after experiencing estrogen related sarcopaenia.
There needs to be a significant reality check amongst the transgender community based on basic knowledge of human biology which cannot be changed unless you build a time machine.
No woman is limited because they are irrefutably female with XX chromosomes and can engage in life as a woman in whatever they choose to do as we live in the 21st century. Women don't need transgender women to join them to to save them from female limitations. There is a very mysogynistic tone to the premise.
I congratulate Jordan for attempting to present reality in such an engaging way to his transgender community. I think aspiration needs to make friends with reality here.

Absolutely. Trans women are women, and they deserve to be treated with the same fairness, dignity, and respect as anyone else. Society often ties gender to rigid, outdated rules that exclude so many people from living authentically, and that’s not just unfair-it’s harmful. Trans women bring so much beauty, strength, and resilience to the world, and it’s heartbreaking that they’re often met with barriers instead of open arms.
On a personal level, it angers me to see systems that reduce someone’s identity to a debate or refuse them the right to exist fully as themselves. Supporting trans women isn’t just a political stance; it’s a moral one. Everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected for who they are-period.
To me, standing with trans women is about standing for justice and humanity. I will always believe in fighting for that.

JoonieBear8 I don’t know how you can say people don’t want trans people to live their authentic lives?
NO ONE CARED ANYTHING ABOUT YOU ALL UNTIL IT GOT F*ing OUTRAGEOUS- YES, STRAIGHT UP TWILIGHT ZONE-ish!
PEOPLE’S CAREERS RUINED OVER PRONOUNS, MEN WITH BEARDS IN WOMEN’S SPACES AND THE CRAZINESS OF THEM ALL ; MEN IN WOMEN’S SPORTS.
In Canada there’s a 50 something year old man swimming and changing with teen girls…and there’s lots of that going on. I’m a woman, I said I don’t want to be called cis- I DON’T CARE WHAT IT MEANS. I DON’T WANT TO BE CALLED THAT.
I believe in equal rights for all. I don’t care what you do with your life- just don’t include me in it.

i don't agree with much of what you're saying (a big issue is the lack of "gender" definition) but i have to say i appreciate the way you're talking about it, expressing your opinions rather than guilt tripping or using it to make wild political statements.

I really appreciated your thoughtful and calm approach, Jordan ❤ It’s so refreshing to see these conversations handled without hostility. You made excellent points, especially in how society’s perception affects all women. I kinda hoped you’d touch on the concerns in women’s sports-women are often dismissed as lazy when transwomen win physical competitions in spaces where they fought hard to get some recognition. I would have loved to hear a trans woman’s perspective! It’s such a complex issue, but with compassion, I believe we can find a way forward ❤

I agree with other commenters that this is thoughtful and respectful, and I respect your point of view. However, I respectfully disagree with some of it. Biological sex is a combination of chromosomal, anatomical and hormonal features. When we take feminizing hormones, our body becomes hormonally female, and over time, in part anatomically female, because we get breasts, and our body shape may change in other ways. And if we get bottom surgery, that's another way parts of us can become anatomically female. So our bodies are not biologically male, full stop, but feminized to varying degrees. I'm pretty sure in the future, other feminizations will be medically possible, including trans women getting pregnant.

I find the argument about being trans-racial confusing. In my mind race is like sex, it more or less talks about biological, unchanging features. Culture feels more like gender to me.

you and this video are beautiful, Jordan! 💐 while it is true that womanhood doesn't get easier for anyone because of, well, the not-so-invisible veil of misogyny, we all are deserving of living our truths as women.
and to add, womahood isn't a checklist! it's not 1s and 0s, though it can be parts of simply putting on makeup, taking e, menstruating (or not!) or even being denied opportunities. we get to be proud of being women and also disappointed at what women have to go through. they're both part of the journey, i guess 🥹

I loved this video. I think that race and gender are extremely different and not at all comparable, especially because humans invented race, and trans women are born in the female gender. Also, there’s no such thing as biological females. But still loved the video, so I subscribed and will check out more. 😘

Trans women are "born" in the female gender, but you also state within the same comment that biological females or somehow make believe?
@she_is_lavender at first I wasn't going to say anything because I just assumed you were probably trolling, but then I got the thinking, what if this person actually believes this.
There is no social construct when it comes to biology. Every creature on this planet has to reproduce some kind of way, and although I kind of agree with you that there is no such thing as male or female as it pertains to single and simple cell organisms, The vast majority of multi celled organisms on this planet fall into two groups, male and female, for the exception of a very small select few animals on this planet that can reproduce asexually.
I have no issue with anyone living their life the way they see fit, but I have a major issue with individuals who choose to pass on false information as if it's a fact.
