Barbara Hill, who cowrote and produced Halloween with Carpenter, lived across the street from me, in Haddonfield NJ. I don't remember her much. They had 2 Saint Bernards.
I like to watch the Halloween movies because of the idyllic US residential areas and their beautiful houses. Especially I liked the daytime shots with the Indian summer that only exists in North America. Today the Halloween films are too brutal for me. I think horror is also possible without slaughter. In the old movies you just saw the knife and heard a noise.

its the LA area. the myers house and some locations are in pasadena, the wallace and doyle houses are in LA proper. Fun fact the wallace and doyle houses are 2 streets over from the Nightmare on elm street house!
For anyone that lives near there, how cool it must be to just go for a walk on Halloween night and just let your imagination run wild...
