- Lisa Marie Presley tragically passed away on Jan. 12. The musician, and only child of Elvis Presley, died after being rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest earlier that day. As the 54-year-old is set to be honored with a public memorial service at Graceland on Jan. 22, Access Hollywood is looking back at her life and devastating death.

You might wanna get her age right!!! SHE WAS 54 & would have been 55 February 1. I'm 22 days younger & I lost my Dad in 1977 as well. I've always held a special place in my heart for Lisa Marie. I know there's a wonderful reunion going on in heaven right now. RIP Lisa Marie

My daughter now is 21 & w all I have in common w Lisa Marie, 22 days apart, both our dads died in 1977 in the bathroom of a heart attack, we've both been pregnant twice & now both have a granddaughter. My daughter said it makes her want me to go get checked out immediately. I so remember crying for her when Elvis died. And IMO Blue Christmas & I'll be Home for Christmas are excruciating songs. Reminds me of my 1st Christmas without my Daddy. Plus back in 1962, my daddy was away in the Army & told his mom to play ill be home when the family was together Christmas eve. I am so shocked & saddened at her loss. I gotta admit there's a miniscule piece of me jealous bc now she's w her Daddy. What a reunion w her Daddy she's missed so long & her son. She died of a broken heart. My husband of 28yrs left me just over 2yrs ago & I seriously feel myself dying of the same thing. My prayers to Lisa's family, friends, & fans. Obviously you know nothing about scripture. Jesus Himself said to Nicodemus ''You must be Born Again to enter heaven'' She had nothing to do with Christianity. She was a member of Scientology, she quit after about 36 years, but she did not turn to Jesus. Elvis hated that cult, He did get saved.

I was thinking the same thing, she did not look well at all. Even when she celebrated her Dads birthday at Graceland she didn’t look well.

She was in a late stage of heart failure. Probably used to feeling unwell. My father was diagnosed just six weeks prior to death. He was pale and unstable walking for months. Just thought it was his meds. Undiagnosed. Sad.
She made a post that in part said the grief of losing my son is swallowing me whole. 😔
She Looked very ill. Very unsteady, wouldn't walk unless she could hold onto someone she trusted, extremely Waif thin, very sallow color...she showed all the signs of a broken lady who had lost her only son. She was barely making it through the things She HAD TO GET DONE. A mother never recovers from that kind of loss.

Benjamin couldn't stand being compared to Elvis, she and Priscilla chose to live in the shadow of Elvis but When was Benjamin ever appreciated for being who he was? she said she feels guilt every day of her life, she knew her son was into drugs big time. I remember after she became an adult she and her mother relentlessly bad mouthed Elvis for taking drugs, then prizzilla realized she could get more attention and more money by talking sweet about him. They placed that burden on Benjamin.

I'm just curious when I ask the question "why do you think she was gravely ill?" I'm not familiar with Lisa Marie's body of work, but I'm very disturbed by her sudden death. It's kinda been haunting me. I'm only 3 years older than her. IDK if it has something to do with facing your own mortality since we are (or should I say *were*?) of the same generation.

Lisa Marie's premature death is devastating as I have experienced the death of my wife when she was only 50. My heart goes out to the survivors and hope that they will not be accosted by the insane press.
Thank you for sharing this, and I'm very sorry at the loss of your wife. I lost a sister last year who was close in age to your wife (47). Losing someone at any age is hard, but I do think that losing someone in the prime of their life carries a unique burden. I ache for her son who must finish high school without a mother, and cannot help but think about the other milestones she'll miss. My nephew is well loved and cared for, but no one can replace his mother. Take care, and I'll keep your family in my prayers.

M. Invernecessity I wanted to add the specific loss that you have been enduring which I failed to do in my response to your comment which I had initially posted. It was late and I had just returned from my tennis lesson. I was depressed and mournful yet when I read your statement my mood instantly changed. To lose a sister (I lost mine 3 years ago) was quite distressing. The loss of a life partner however is what my suffering is about. So, I just wanted to emphasize how your statement affected me and I also want to express in clear terms the loss of your beloved sister. When I heard about Presley’s daughter it somehow felt so awful and I don’t even know of her achievement. Do, once again my heart goes out to you regarding your sister and I feel relieved that your nephew is being taken care of so effectively. It is amazing to me that your message to me affected me so profoundly because it was clearly authentic and generous. We who are emphatic about the loss or abuse of people and animals in a sense feel more of the pain when something terrible occurs that it almost seems ironic, but of course it makes perfect sense. I must thank you once again for your generosity in sharing such a heartfelt message and I feel indebted to you to such a degree that I needed to make it clearly known what affect your words have had upon a total stranger. I wish the best for you and your nephew and your entire family. I just had to let you know how powerful your message was to me and got this I thank you a thousand times over.

This really hurts even though I never met her I feel so bad that this has happened. I don’t understand why this has occurred so tragically at this time. She always said her children were the joy of her life until her son killed himself which hurt her badly. I feel she was grieving him still and now this loss.

I was very lucky and met Lisa way back when she was dating Danny. I knew Danny and my friend and I went to pick them at the airport and took them to Danny's mom and step dad's house. Lisa was very nice, funny and down to earth. Even though I only spent a few hours with her 35 years ago, the day she passed I couldn't stop crying and was so shocked and heartbroken. My condolences goes out to her mom and daughters. It also goes out to Danny as they stayed close after their divorce and lived together since their son passed away. They had each other to mourn with and now Lisa has passed too. I am sure she is reunited with her son and her dad and will watch over her beautiful girls, mom, Danny and those close to her are.

It’s a heartbreaker and so shocking what happened. Nobody saw this coming although now I’m seeing footage of her needing help from a bodyguard to get up the stairs and stumbling and needing to lean on people to stand. How does that happen? Those were very bad signs.
I’m glad she got to see the success of the film and was apparently moved by it. I’ve seen some clips of it and it looks like it was well made. It appears to tell the whole Elvis story, too. But her sudden demise was not supposed to happen like this.
Thanks for sharing your experience with her and her ex husband Danny. Apparently they were better suited as friends. I find it a bit unusual that he would want to be around her new husband and still live with her. I don’t understand that but that was their business, not mine.
Her death really hit me hard even though I didn’t know her or meet her ever. Mainly because I’m an Elvis fan since I was ten. And she looked so much like him and seemed like a cool person just like her father.
I hope she is reunited with her father and son Benjamin. It would be nice if that were possible. I really don’t know.

2 things. I love love Lisa’s voice and style. Totally different than her fathers in my opinion. It was always on my to do list to buy her cds. Just never gotten around to it. I watched Lisa Marie marry each of her men, watched her have children, watched her live her life. I am sad that she has left this earth. Shocked and may never fully accept that she is gone. He died of a bowel obstruction that was something her doctor should have caught years ago they should have caught it when she kept going back 2 the hospital that should have caught him when she was going 2 her doctors they knew she was having problems she was having stomach problems and they were negligent and 2 not seeing it it's no way you can have it's like having a toothache and your doctor looks around the tooth but he don't paint no tissue to the tooth and then it brought and then you're in more pain but he still don't look at the tilt until you're dead

She had a tough life… but what’s amazing is that she always tried to help others despite whatever she was going through. Apparently she was visiting grieving parents during her most recent visit to Graceland and was planning to work with grief organizations.
With everything else that was going on in her life. To still seek out ways to assist others, to believe that her story could help strangers, that quality is definitely something to celebrate because that was all her. It wasn’t based on her father, her family, or Presley fame, it was just Lisa Marie being Lisa Marie.
A sad thought came to mind. I wonder where her resting place will be. The garden is running out of room. I’m guessing they will remove the bench on the other side of her son so she will be closer to him than to her father. Damn that’s sad.

@eyemnew2991 I agree with that. I believe the actual plots are hidden inside the house somewhere. Lisa used to talk about a special room that she would sometimes go to to feel close to her dad. She was one of the only ones with a key to it.

They just tell us who it is.
I believe they buried somewhere else in another cemetery.
What's in the back yard is not them.
Most likely, we will never know for sure. There’s enough questionable things that point to that they could all be buried somewhere else. Just like Princess Diana and the ‘burial’ in the lake. Just like Prince and “relocated ashes’ at Paisley. The estates all charge visitors to visit these locations by advertising the gravesites.
They will never confirm one way or another because they’d immediately lose money.

When I was watching the GG and saw Lisa Marie, I gasped, it stopped me in my tracks. She did not look well at all. She looked fragile but after what happened to her son, I thought to myself, “well ok, she’s been through hell and back + her weight always went up and down. But this was different, you could see her mind was elsewhere, she looked like a shell of her former self. Never did I think she was going to leave this world 2 days later. I’m so sad for Priscilla, Danny Keough, Navarone and Lisa’s 3 girls. Poor Riley, this is going to be so difficult for her to come back from. That poor girl is still dealing with her brothers death. Why is this happening!! I pray to God to give Lisa’s family the strength and grace to get through this. Please lord, keep your hands on them. It makes me think of Whitney Houston and her daughter, so unfair. I’m in my late 40’s and my parents were both huge Elvis fans so I grew up with his music all my life, Whitney too. It’s just not fair. The only thing that gives me a little comfort is knowing that Lisa was welcomed home by her daddy and her son, Ben. What a reunion that must have been. It’s just so heartbreaking for the family left behind, she was too young to go. Oh Priscilla, my heart is breaking for you, pretty lady.

It's coming up to 6 months that she left this earth.
I think of her every single day and try very hard to listen to the reason for her death.
