    In this video, I discuss my experience with my inverters after having used them for a few months. Despite their impressive functionality, I encountered problems when I added a third inverter and the Solar Assistant software.
    From random faults to shut downs, it has been a frustrating time. Finally, I've decided to send them back and replace them with a new set from Signature Solar. I have been offered an upgrade to the 6000XP inverters, which promise better usability and hopefully, less hassle.
    I will be documenting my experiences with these new inverters and testing their performance on appliances in coming videos.

      Pretty sure that you can only run these as singles or in pairs. You can have 2-4-6 of them, but not 3 5 or 7. The new XP can stack in odds easily because they are true split phase. Subbed for follow on your system ;) You do realize that the XP are off grid inverters and are NOT designed to export to the grid at all I hope.....

      The manual says you can have the EXs (old) in any number but maybe what you’re saying had something to do with my issues. The 3 XPs (new) are running great! Yes I know they can’t export. I couldn’t with the EX inverters either.

    I have had problems with my EG4 6500 EX. I wish I could say they were great to work with but Tech support has been terrible. It took a month and many phone calls just to get the ground bond screws that were supposed to be in the inverters in the first place. Still have flickering lights ans surging power while under loads. Tech support says they will have higher level techs get intouch with me to fix it but it is just crickets. I have spent a good portion of my life listening to SS hold music.

      I know the hold music well... It's super frustrating to have these problems, and I wish it weren't the case. They're growing so fast and the EX line was so buggy that they are overwhelmed and take too long to get back to people. Keep trying and if they don't call you back, call them. I know you shouldn't have to but it will make things happen faster.

    So they are only offering the exchange for affiliates? 4:27 How does that make them great company if they only take care of their affiliates and not their customers? I have three brand new in the box that I have been hesitant to install after seeing all the issues. I also have two 6500ex been using for over a year with the common known issues. Hesitant to update firmware as some have become bricks or door stops after updating. I also have two 3000ex, one brand new version two unused and one version 1 that had minor issues prior to firmware update and since update has been working better. Like you I was trying to promote SS and the EG4 products but have had to pull back.

      @EastTexasHomestead  5 місяців тому

      I hear what you’re saying and it probably doesn’t feel fair. I wish that wasn’t the case. But just because they’re offering a swap for affiliate only doesn’t mean they’re not taking care of their other customers. They are continuing to stand by their warranty and support those with issues. I’m sure you will be able to sell your unopened units to those who want to expand and can no longer find them. Or open them and use em. :) when you look at the problems on the forums and such, it appears that everyone has problems. But in reality, this is a small percentage of the thousands of units out there that are working great. They have bad units for sure though. Even Apple has bad units, bugs, and mistakes.

    I totally get it. The 6000ex was a game changer when it came out but the rash of firmware and LED issues had them trying to problem solve and find workarounds for over a year. The deal with Luxpower on the 6000xp was a no brainer for SS and it’s a much better unit in all aspects. I knew my 6000ex was just a stopgap until I got my panels and batteries built out and one unit has served me well so far, without incident, running 2/3 of my home power needs daily. Some people bash SS but they’ve been fair and reasonable with me on my equipment and support calls so far. You have a unique use case and wiring design so I look forward to seeing your installation videos and how you integrate the new inverters in your system. We can all learn from each other! 👍☀️⚡️💡🔋🤠

    • @EastTexasHomestead
      @EastTexasHomestead  3 місяці тому

      First off. It’s not a Chinese brand, it’s an American company. To be even more specific, it’s a Texas company a few cities from my homestead. So I’m happy to support local businesses. As for all the problems, they only came into play when I added the 3rd inverter into the system. I’m assuming it was causing the problems. Finally, I’ve been running the new ones for two months and have had no serious issues. Just a few bugs that have been fixed with firmware.

      @EastTexasHomestead Oh yes it is. Search the federal import records that you can easily find on Google, and you'll find that this Texas based company imports all of their inverters from China. You've been deceived.

      @@EastTexasHomestead Boy have you been misled. Yes, Signature Solar is an American company, but the EG4 brand name (trademark) of inverters that they own are absolute not made in America. EG4 inverters are manufactured in China (AKA Luxpower located in Bao'an District, Shenzhen, China) . In fact, US customs import records show that EG4 Electronics, LLC located in Sulphur Strings, Texas imported 960 inverters from China, just in the last 6 months. I would suggest that you Google EG4's import records before you make claims that EG4 inverters are made in America.

    • @EastTexasHomestead

I know they're made in China, just like my Mac, microphone, iPhone, coffee mug, and 90% of what's in my home and yours. My point is that they're a Texas-based company employing real Texans in a town near me, and I can drive down there and talk to someone if I have a problem.

      @EastTexasHomestead You're the one that said that it's not a Chinese brand. I just don't appreciate the fact that there are no "Made in China" labels on these inverters. I don't even think that it's legal to import product products from China into the US that don't have "Made in China" labels on them. In my opinion, bringing Chinese made product into the US and placing an American brand name on that product while removing or never placing a "Made in China" label on that product is deceptive.

Put it together per an electrical company that is #15 in the country. Had to replace a bad inverter and battery and they would not warranty them!!! Have had them running since October '23. I have that new battery sitting in my home almost a week, unopened and talked to Alaina in tech at SS. She told me that my other battery probably has a bad board in it, but when asked, she would not take back the new battery unopened if my electrician found it had a bad board in it. She said she could send another board to replace bad one, but I'm sure that will cost me!!! I guess their warranties are a sham!!!
