  • This is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this cinematic travel guide, we explore the incredibly diverse and multi-cultural capital of Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur (KL) is fun, modern, diverse, beautiful, inspiring, and delicious.
Bring your sense of wonder and start your exploration of this colorful capital in the Old City Centre neighborhood. Walk the market streets of China Town. One block away are the Guan Di Taoist Temple and the Sri Maha Mariamman Hindu Temple sitting in beautiful co-existence across the street from one another. A short walk away are the Kasturi Walk and Central Market center. Both are a great place to pick up some KL trinkets. Have lunch in the hawker center upstairs before strolling through Medan Pasar Clock Tower Square on your way to the River of Life. Find some shade and view the absolutely stunning Masjid Jamek Mosque sitting at the confluence of the two rivers. This is a wonderful way to spend the day and to experience the many different cultures of Kuala Lumpur.
Head north to edge of the city and explore the magnificent Batu Caves. Climbing the hundreds of colorful stone steps is no easy task, but you reward is well worth your effort. At the top is a series of Hindu shrines built inside of a massive natural cave system. The striking balance of colorful shrines set against the natural cave settings is truly a sight you need to see to believe.
Beyond the sights, what makes KL one of our favorite places is the food. We didn't have a single bad meal during our time there. A place we kept returning to was TG's Nasi Kandar, a delicious and incredibly affordable Indian joint. And be sure to find a delicious bowl of mee goreng mamak during your journeys. Whatever you choose to eat, it is guaranteed to be high quality, affordable, and delicious.
As the sun starts to set, head on over to Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur's glamorous and exciting nightlife neighborhood. Duck down some alleys and experience some beautifully immersive street art. Grab a bite along Jalan Alor and then wander the dozens of shops and mega malls. Kuala Lumpur might just be your perfect travel destination and once you leave, you won't want to wait to get back.

Hi everyone! Please know that we are doing our part to limit the spread of COVID-19. We are practicing social distancing and spending most of our time in our apartment in Bangkok. We have cancelled all trips until May and will reassess the situation at that time.
Our upload schedule is actually several weeks behind where we currently are. The videos that get posted on our UA-cam channel were filmed before travel restrictions and recommendations to stay home.
That said, we have many more videos currently being edited so you can still expect new content every Saturday here on UA-cam (or earlier over on Patreon if you decide to pledge).
We can't wait to start travelling again, and will only do so once it is safe and travel restrictions start getting lifted.
Until then; stay safe, healthy, wash your hands, and stay at home as much as you are able to. We will only get through this if we do it together.
    Alex and Kenny :)
