@@Devo1987 Hello I'm not to sure which power supply you need. When you buy the DVR it comes already with cords needed to connect hard drive and also has cord to power up the DVR hope this helps if not please let me know so I can further assist.

Can somebody tell me if my annke dvr hard drive is posible bad? after power outage stop recording. Dvr came with 1TB and is not recording anymore....or how to factory reset it. Thanks in advance for your help
Hello Robert once I powered everything on and was going through settings it did format the HDD. I have 4 cameras on my unit. So far yes 1 Tb has been enough for my use. I'm only concerned to have to replay video if need be so far have not had any need b's. Hope this helps.
Installing a hard drive is easy, but, does the motherboard recognize the hd and give you the option to activate and/or install the Annke operating system? Annke site customer service is never any help. Thanks....BW
Once you install hard drive the dvr does recognize it. As far as adding operating system to the hard drive there would not be any reason for that as hard drive is just storage. Hope this helps.
Yep..no problem once hd installed. I was concerned the operating system would have to be installed (like a computer), but apparently it's within the motherboard. Thanks for reply...
Go to system menu then maintenance. Then go to select factory default. It should then go to reboot and you can start all over again. If this does not work you can go to support@annke.com I hope this helps.
Not sure on that but you could always just get a 12 volt fan and put in if needed. I have been running my DVR since this video was posted and have not had any issues with it at all.
True western Digital Purple is a dedicated HDD for surveilance use because it has a better write than read speed but Caviar Blue works just as well and as the poster above says its 7200rpm vs 5400rpm. Remember the video is for a low load home surveilance application with a couple of cameras not a heavy duty 8+ camera industrial or workplace installation.
Thank you very much for this fantastic and clear video, that is much appreciated!
Your so very welcome

whats the MAX size for the hard drive??? and can you install any SSD or HDD?
also can it be any brand name hard drive?
@@Dedicated2WendyWilliams i believe its 6Tb and a branded name 3.5" SATA (WD, Seagate pipeline etc) HDD is a best.
@@Dedicated2WendyWilliams Yes majority of brands do work with this application.

Wrong HHD!!!!!!! Blue is NOT the correct HDD for CCTV application. You must buy WD Purple
This Brand is asking for a HDD 7200rpm or higher. I can't find any purple HDD with this amount of rpm
