I always love your videos and have followed you for years (Will was a child and you were still married!). In this video, I allow myself to react and provide you with information. 1) When you remove the cord from a charger but leave it plugged in, be aware that you are still using energy. It's small but you consume. 2) Placing cleaning items and towels on top of trash (even dry trash) involves micro transfer. Your towels are “contaminated” by waste. Again, it's tiny but you have to know it. 3) The ideal flower storage temperature depends on the variety of flowers. It can range from 8 to 20° Celcius. It was a florist friend who taught me about it. Also, if you do not have the possibility (or the desire) to take your vase out at night, or the temperatures are much too low or high, simply put 2-3 ice cubes in the vase water over time (I do it every 2 days when I change the water). I wish you a beautiful day and thank you for your inspiring videos. Best wishes.
Can I just say how impressed I am with Stockholm's recycling system? I just got back from driving our recycling to our only recycling facility, 30 minutes away. I am so envious you have those recycling bins all over your city. So much simpler.
It’s so easy to take out the recycling here and there’s no division between soft and hard plastics etc. A lot of sorting is done in the recycling plants.
In Canada, recycling is picked up at yout door, ts alternated each week between household garbage and recycling ,as well as separate food waste collection each week. I thought most counties in Europe had similar waste management, and we modeled our system after Europe
@@vi9763a lot of Europe is moving away from at-door pickup. Its too labour- and space intensive for the society we wish to build. So now we are rolling out more shared collection points. 😊
In most other cities in Sweden we can recycle in the yard of our apartment buildings, Stockholm is a bit behind the rest of the country with still having these bigger collection points around the city 😏
@@BenitaLarsson Yes, it is rather brilliant. I can't tell you how many times I've had to change my clothes because of this, so this will save not only my shirts but also my sanity. 😂
This morning I looked at the Dollar Store soap dispenser on my bathroom vanity and thought, I do not like the colour so I did what Benita would do...I peeled off the wrapper! It looks much better plain white! Thank you for your videos.

I like the tip of using newsprint to remove odor. I've never heard of it but will give it a try when the opportunity rises. On another note, I love your new haircut and color. It's very flattering on you.
Please do try it! It is my go to for when something goes bad in the fridge or I simply dislike the smell of something in there. I always pop a newspaper ball into my fridge for three nights and the smell is gone!
Thanks for the tips. Ive used the newspaper trick in an old steamer trunk. I did it enough times that all the musty smell was removed. I got it from a book called Eloise's household hints back in the 80s!
I use spent coffee grounds for odor removal. I Just collect my used coffee grounds, spread them on a plate to dry completely, then decant them into a small bowl. I place them wherever their magic is needed. They work wonders in the bottom of a closet next to the boys stinky gym shoes. Thanks for your ideas today.
Hi Benita, I use a throw rug grip pad cut up in various sizes to keep things from sliding. I have used large pieces under couch cushions to keep them from moving around, under all my drawer organizers, kitchen drawers so my large utensils don’t slide. I think I got mine from IKEA and it comes in white. ❤

I LOVE the cuffed rubber glove trick - that streaming water down my arms always annoyed me! I am so glad to have a solution now, thank you. Also, that cork trivet hack - love it! Besides the cork trivet having a clean and minimal look, cork is also sustainable. Thank you for sharing, Benita, and hi to Bonus (also love your haircut!).
I'm not sure why I enjoy these everyday tips so much, but they are so calming, and also inspiring. I'm trying to transition to a minimalist lifestyle, and every time I watch one of your videos, Benita, I do a little bit more decluttering and organizing. Still a long way to go, but I've seen enough improvements to continue my motivation. Thanks for sharing with us!
Using a cork trivet between scratchy cookware is a tip that I will use right away! Thank you for all the good tips! Nice the way you tied in the opening and closing video shots with the vase of flowers!
Great tips, as always! What I do to take out musty smells from old furniture is to clean it well and then varnish the inside drawers or cabinets. That's usually where the smell comes from. Often one coat will do it. Love your new haircut Benita - very pretty.
These are some great tips! One thing though, I was tought that leaving chargers in elektrical sockets is a fire hazard (one of the reasons why it's recommended not to charge your phone while you're sleeping). Maybe things have changed, but just a heads up. I had never heard of putting news papers in smelly things! I am going to try that for sure. I know putting a bowl of (dry) baking soda in there can help. Or a bowl of (unused) coffee (whole beans or ground) and even some (clean!) kitty litter can do the trick! Good ideas to start the New Year Benita. Love your pixie cut too! 🙂 I like your idea of tea towel reuse. Instead of buying dish cloths, I cut up and stitch tea towels I don't want to use any more, into 18 cm squares and use them as dish cloths.

Thanks so much Benita, until the next one, take care of you and Bonus. ❤🐾🐾
I look forward to your videos every other week, and aspire to have a home as clean and organized as yours. I really liked your hair before, and the new cut is lovely as well!
Bicarb in a bowl will absorb smells like the crushed newspaper. I use bicarb in my kitty litter box and mix in with the kitty litter. It's great and really works ! Thanks Benita love your work
Don't put waxy candleholders in the dishwasher. The melted wax could clog up the little spray nozzles etc. Always clean them by hand with very hot water and dishsoap. Works just fine
A couple of years ago, I bought a large pine chest and when I got it home, I tried all the things you are suggesting and no matter what I did the smell would not leave, so I donated to a charity and perhaps they could paint it to get the odour out. You really have to take a good sniff at the shops to make sure it does not have an odour, but in all of my many many years of buying antiques, that was a first. I too place trivets between my fry pans and works wonders, no scratches. Thanks for all of the great ideas.
Loved these tips so much! Thank you Benita!! Your content is simply the best. I'll re-watch your older videos and notice tips I've picked up from you that I do all the time. I'll be pulling from this treasure trove a lot. The tip about using recycables as recycling containers - so simple but brilliant! An empty frozen veggie bag -- allows quick, easy trip rather than taking the whole bin out at once. Hello to Bonus, too!!
I’m really enjoying your channel. I’ve picked up so many tips from working through the backlog during the past week. I’ll never be a minimalist, but I’ve been through drawers and books passed on so many things I didn’t need in this short space of time. Even my grandchildren have decluttered their dolls house and their books. Next visit it will be the toys. I guess I just needed some motivation. 🙏
Others have me believe I’m a little crazy but black cords on a white background. Thank goodness I’m not the only one. I burnt a large candle for hours and hours to get it out of a foot long holder. Most of its still stuck. It’s going in the freezer TONIGHT! Thank you. As a fellow minimalist - one shelf for one serving bowl. I’ll bet it’s not there in six months time. 😅
Good Afternoon! Just a suggestion- use the non-skid pads for under area rugs under the chest of drawers under your sink to prevent it from moving around. You can even glue it to the bottom of the chest of drawers if you want to.

And love the simple yet very stylish cut!! It is so “you” and really fits your esthetic. Less really is more🩷 Thanks for the video💕
I really appreciate the tip about the flowers definitely will try that. We also use cloth napkins and long ago when our kids lived at home we had four different napkin rings. Everyone's napkin had their own ring so we knew who's was whose and we could reuse until they needed washing.
Dear Benita! What smart hacks for the home! Really liked the one with the gloves against pets hair! 😻and the one to remove the wax, I will definitely try it out! And…. Lovely new haircut, it suits you very well! 🙋♀️☺️cheers from Iris from southwest Germany!
I just enjoy watching your videos so much - thanks for all the unique tips and tricks. For getting smells out - we have a product here in the states called 'Nature's Miracle' - it's for cat/dog potty accidents. It's an enzyme and it works fantastic for its original purpose, but I've used it in many other ways as well. In your situation with your storage chair (which I love by the way), you could just spray some on paper towels/newspaper and let it sit inside the chair - it may just do the trick!
🇬🇧 Such great ideas Benita. Have you ever thought of writing a book? I think it would do well. I love your vlogs, can you do more regular ones? Hair looks lovely x
Just brilliant always, no wonder flowers dont last in my apartment. Its 24 degrees even in the winter...lol... hugs and love from the UK xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
These were all great tips Benita!! I hadn't heard of several of them. I liked the toilet paper tube trick because that's readily available. I don't have to purchase anything extra and it solves the problem. Another tip for smells...charcoal . just a few squares in and they absorb the odors too! Thankyou for a great video!
I always look forward to your videos, they're such a treat ❤Great tips as usual, I'll be implementing several of these in my own home 😊And I love the new haircut! 😍
Some great tips Benita! Particularly like the candles in the freezer, folding the cuffs on the gloves and the chilled flowers tricks! And loving the new hair that you’re not mentioning! 😊 Do hope it’s a style choice rather than a health issue this time! ❤
Hi Benita I would be really interested in you looking at repairs or improvements in your home. You made the shelf installation look so effortless I felt I could do this!! Thanks
Your tips are so useful and clever. I've recently placed some small felted pads under all my kitchen counter big appliances, as you demonstrated in a previous trick video. This works so well and it made me feel super clever (thanks to you). I'll definitly try your rubber gloves trick and the overnight chilled flowers.
Like you I can’t stand seeing cords and I use cloth napkins too.that flower tip works, when I receive a bouquet at work I place it in the fridge before I go home to keep it fresh.

I did have a literary agent at one point but decided it’s not for me. And as for more videos, I need to stick to one every other week😊
@@BenitaLarsson That's a bonus tip right there: know thyself! 👏
You look so beautiful. Your hair and colour is perfect for you as well.
Thank you so much!
I ❤Benita Tuesday. Thanks for the great ideas and hugs to Mr. B. 🐈⬛
Will distribute hug!🐈⬛Thank you!
I agree about the unsightly cords and am a dedicated Apple person. I use little ponytail hair clips to hold the cords wound up. 😉
Thank you for this amazing video! I always feel so calm and relaxed watching you! And motivated to improve things in my home 💗
So happy if my video leaves you motivated!
Love your haircut, AND there's a happy perk in your voice. Your videos are inspiring! thanks
I really love your tip in a previous video. Vinegar and water in a spray bottle for cleaning the kitchen counter! Works well and so simple!
Stay tuned for more cleaning tips in the next video!😉
I always look forward to your videos, they're such a treat ❤Great tips as usual, I'll be implementing several of these in my own home 😊And I love the new haircut! 😍
So glad you enjoy them!
Have a happy 2024 Benita xx
Happy 2024 to you too!
Some great tips Benita! Particularly like the candles in the freezer, folding the cuffs on the gloves and the chilled flowers tricks! And loving the new hair that you’re not mentioning! 😊 Do hope it’s a style choice rather than a health issue this time! ❤
Just a much needed chop!✂️
Hi Benita I would be really interested in you looking at repairs or improvements in your home. You made the shelf installation look so effortless I felt I could do this!! Thanks
Just used the trivet hack! I was using sheets of bubble wrap between my frying pans before but the cork pads are far tidier. Thanks!
Yay! So happy you found a trick to use!
Thank you for these great ideas, Benita.
I’m so glad you went back to your short haircut!! So cute and so you❣️❣️❣️
Thank you! Not sure if it will stay this short but the cut was very needed😅
Such simple, clever & effective “tricks”!!! 😊
So glad you enjoyed them!
Thanks for the video - especially the basket & pet hair tips. Have three small baskets & now have a use for them! Love your cat too.
Benita : tus propuestas , interesantes como siempre 👍🏼. Y tu nuevo look , te rejuvenece : me parece ideal !!
Always brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing❤
So glad you enjoyed!
I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for providing such useful tips.
I’m so glad to hear that!😊
Like you I can’t stand seeing cords and I use cloth napkins too.that flower tip works, when I receive a bouquet at work I place it in the fridge before I go home to keep it fresh.
It really does work!🌸🌿
Good tip about the flowers!
Fabulous video as always. Everything flows so nicely. Thnx! ❤❤
Newspaper is good for so many things. I put a few wads of newspaper inside my luggage when I put it away. Keeps it fresh. Thanks for all the great tips! 🙂
I don’t like the feeling of newsprint on my hands but boy is it useful!
A fantastic video - thanks! Lovely and relaxing, as always.
Hi, genial lo del florero y la temperatura. Gracias 😊😊
Mu buenas ideas😊
Saludos
Thank you for all the tips my loveliest Benita🤍🤍 with the amazing new look (this haircut suits you so much) Especially the tip with the flowers (truly loved it) or the other one with the newspapers taking away the smells 📰🗞️ Thank you for the inspiration 🙏 Always so simple and always to the point 🐈⬛🤍

The rubber glove rolling trick is genius!
Glad you like it!
