My wife and I have season passes to Dollywood in Tennessee USA. It has become a real draw for rollercoaster fanatics. There are very few of the rollercoasters that I will ride. Last week we did Big Bear Mountain coaster with another couple. It was all I could stand. The woman of the couple had a real problem. We had to practically carry her off the ride. Needless to say, no more coasters for her. When I was young I loved all rollercoasters. Now in my 50s, not so much. We still love visiting the park. The flowers are always amazing and there are lots of things to see and do.

Hey Paul, everyone has challenges in life, some people it's heights, some people it's pigeons, for some it's scary rides.
Good on you Jo , keep him positive and level . There are certain places where I cannot even get through the door . Certain scary things I cannot even talk about . We all have our own demons and knowing about them is huge . Paul you went to where your scariest place obviously is , that was a win and anyone else stating they have no fears is talking out their but hole . 🫶❤️🐾
One ride I'll NEVER go on again is The Chair-O-Planes... At least Jo enjoyed herself...👍

We all need a women like jo in our lives to boost you sometimes, but I also think us humans have such a bad relationship with failure as a whole,I'm in the process of trying to make my failures a positive thing,we learn from them,it's not very often we learn from things we succeed at in life,this took me back to when you was on the nc500 and you couldn't get in the sea, definitely take a positive from the fact you went and went on two rides,and ultimately it's these moments you'll look back on in years to come as a memory together 🎉❤

😂 Couldn't help but laugh 😆. My husband hates anything that's high off the ground but especially if it's fast and off the ground. Me, I'm like Jo... bring it on! Again, let's go 🎢again! Husband will not even go on the Ferris Wheels 🎡 ... simply not his thing is putting it lightly 😂.

Hi Paul & Jo, thanks really enjoying your daily videos, my wife is with you on Alton Towers, gave us a really interest in visiting the Peak District. We've been to The Himalayian Sculpture Park and Gardens near Grewlthrope in North Yorkshire today, we think Jo and you would enjoy it.

I am just like you can't do theme parks. I also can't stand opera/most plays/musicals - my wife gets that and she goes with friends. I did have a habit of falling asleep so she realised it was a complete waste of money. The worst one was some form of open air Shakespeare rubbish and I didn't realise if was full audience participation. I had some over enthusiastic thespian trying to get me involved!!
Didn’t let anyone down Paul. In fact, this has been one of my favourites. You tried something you didn’t really fancy, fair play. And I always enjoy the vids which feature you and Jo - she’s UA-cam gold mate. Top darts all round 👍

Most of those rides .. the ones that 'spin' make me nauseous 🤮. I do though, love the ones that go up, around and upside down .. as long as my head and eyes look forward.
I also 'hate' theme parks .. for the queues. Have been to to Euro Park in Germany .. once. Those queues 🙄😖.

I'm not sure why people are so bothered about rides. Honestly, so what? You didn't go on 13? We all have stuff we like and stuff we don't. It's such a non-worry. What's tomorrow's one? Can't wait. I think it's pretty normal to only manage 3 or 4 rides mate. I went to Alton Towers once (not really my thing either) and Rita Queen of Speed (is that still there) was my introduction. Steam catapult at the start 0 - 100mph in 2 seconds! My daughter said I roared like a viking all the way round! 😆 Oblivion.. I swear my heart stopped on that! The group after us got stuck overhanging the precipice for over an hour! Hex, shame that was closed as that's a great experience. At first I was like "ffs, a haunted log, this is boring" but then it all got a bit mental! 😅
Don't beat yerself up mate, looked like a good day out and queue times were ridiculous and decent rides closed to boot! Good Mrs you have there! 👍🏼

I'm with you Paul when it comes to theme parks. It would be a great place without the theme park ... and the people. I don't think its a matter of being scared. Queueing up for hours to spend money on something you know you are just not going to like ... why ?
I'd rather traverse the Aonach Eagagh Ridge blindfold in stilettos.

My Brother-in-law wanted me to take him to one of those Zip line rides.
He is 84 and in poor health. I told him no, what would happen if he had a heart attack half way down it? How was I supposed to explain that to his two daughters?
He said, "We won't tell them."
Ok, I just stuff your body in the boot of the car, until we get home? Apparently, this sounded like a good plan to him. 😂
I hate these so called fun parks . It's mainly due to costs involved when you include the cost of travel from Darlington. Also , I don't call it fun , having to pay extortionate prices to be made to vomit when I get . So now , I save up and get new camera kits to record wildlife. Still , you made a cracking video, Mate.

Paul, believe me you are definitely not alone in your dislike of theme parks and rollercoasters! I can’t stand them. Well done for even going.
Far from letting yourself or anyone down, you’ve given it a go despite knowing that such things weren’t for you. That’s quite inspiring actually. We can’t all like the same things, so people like you and I will continue to find the quiet places and leave the theme parks to those who enjoy them. We’re doing them a favour when you think about it, how much longer would the queues be if we all joined them too!

Not let anyone down mate, and clearly not let Jo down. I hate theme parks and realised years ago that I didn't like roller coasters. So don't bother with them, you gotta do you mate, sod everyone else, keep the vids coming.... 8-)

I can do all the rides at Alton, but loud music in a nightclub or concert venue kill me. The beat of the music and everyone jumping rhythmically scares me to death. I have to accept I might die and then I'm ok. razor lights at Exeter uni was the worst. An old building not designed for people jumping up and down. So you tried and you have such a great Mrs. What a legend

I've had moments like that before Paul. I'm petrified of rides. The first time I went to Alton Towers I went on Hex because I was told it was just a little rocking sensation, I ended up gripping the bars really tight and I was told by a friend they could see how scared I was. Unfortunately my partner at the time who loved rides thought I was being a baby and told me to man up.
I also agree that the grounds of Alton Towers is a beautiful place, especially the gardens.
Loved it Paul to go on the first ride was an achievement.
I recently started to be clostraphobic at 57 years old.
And bugger me mate the panic I get now just getting in a tight sleeping bag spins my nut and I have no idea why so fully understand why you could not do the 13 ride.
So you did an amazing job and the support you have with Jo well what's not to love.

I'm terrified of rides and after queuing for wicker man I bailed at the last second. I'd never do smiler or 13. When I went I did kiddy rides so you've done better than me!
I'm with you Paul I think there over priced, and queuing for 2 hours for a ride is not my idea of fun.
I’m with you Paul, although I love the rides, I simply cannot stand the crowds to the point where it has been a problem for me! My wife and daughter have both been to Disney world and I’ve stayed back here in the UK, because I would have a melt down due to that many people in one place. On a separate note I love your videos and your are refreshing because you don’t make out that your life is all champagne and caviar like a lot of other Vloggers do. I’m am sorry you feel like you let people down but you really have not. You are a very lucky man to have a wife like Jo, she one in a million mate! 👍

hahahah I'm with you - not a huge fan of theme parks but I go to make my wife happy. But, no matter the depth of my love for her, will I ride a roller coaster. Nope, not happening.
