    Another great project , I look forward to watching you every week , I just sorted out my work shed and made new work benches so more room to put things together and just bought myself a new sliding mitre saw and I love it, not a expensive brand but it does the job as I only had a standard mitre saw. My tools are not expensive but they do the job I need them to do as I am not a carpenter and just a hobby although I have sold around 10 pieces of my small items I make now like toilet roll holders and small shelf units and cup mugs made from slices of logs and branches , rustic quirky items and shabby chic stuff, thankyou for sharing as always

    Morning Billy..just a thought and it's something I saw another maker do.when trimming dowels with flush trim saw, make a hole in a playing card and place over the dowel to limit wood damage made by saw. I've tried it and it works a treat..😊😊😊..

      Yes the sketch area could be bigger.. I still find it better than what I was using. It kinda keeps me a bit organised to a very small degree 🤣👌

    Another project that turned out great. I don't know what to say about the tear out I've been working with pine for a long time and I still get that sometimes. I think it's just something that's inherent with pine.

    • @thewoodjunki
      @thewoodjunki  5 днів тому +1

      Thank you.. yes on this project it was especially bad tear out, I think maybe it’s my forstner bits & speed.
      I’ll sort it eventually 👌

    Nice build, the only thing I would have done differently, is kept the shelves the same width as the bookcase.

    New subscriber here. Love to watch other woodworkers process. I personally have the Bosch miter saw, but that Makita is really a work of Art. Keep those videos coming when you can. Great stuff!

      I’ve heard good things about the Bosch mitre saws… this Makita is a beast of a thing it’s old now but has years left in it. 👌
