  • ISCAR anti-vibration blades are designed to eliminate vibrations in deep grooving applications. WHISPERLINE blades are designed for deep grooving and parting operations.
The damping unit is located under the insert pocket and consists of two plates situated in a rhombic frame, connected by a screw that pushes the plates against the walls through an O-ring.

Ok... How does this stop vibration? I'm not an engineer so I might be missing something crucial, but to counter vibration wouldn't you need to counter the force as it comes?

theXEN0KID its made out of a special ultra dense material thats built or layered rather atom by atom .... Its called Novibronel .

The vibrating mass absorbs the vibrations of the tool, and provids a counteracting vibration to cancel the input. Think of it as passive noise cancelling. This is pretty common in ac units, and all over vehicles. Take a look at new engine mounts, they have steel masses attached to them to counter vibrations.
The little mass inside the tool is tuned to a specific tool length. Longer tool length would require more mass to vibrate at a lower frequency.

Basically a mass dampener. The mass can vibrate on its own and as it is moving differently from the blade itself, it counteracts the forces generated.

Do a google search for "shear damping"

It works like the pendulums you see in very tall buildings to counter earthquakes, but on a way smaller scale.

As an engineer-in-training, I abhor that screech. Boring is notorious for it, owwww!
