Anti-vibration boring bars still seem like witchcraft, even though I understand all of the principles involved.
One thing though: The title of the video incorrectly uses the word "dampener" instead of "damper". A dampener is something that dampens, which is to make a thing damp or wet.
A damper is something which arrests vibration or damps the vibration. The text within the video gets this right, but the video title is in error.
What type of error, I hear you ask? A Kyoc-error!
Lexical jokes aside, I wouldn't care if it was labelled a damper, dampener, or even a dampenenenenenener if I was able to afford one of these marvellous tolls in my hobby machine shop, because I'd be too busy making beautifully chatter-free bore holes to be bothered.
