Actually pretty nice to have a lvl 80 guide for these alliance raids. Explaining all 3 raids within 10 minutes and making sure only the important stuff is shown. Thanks!
That's why I wanted to do 'em, yeah! I think most of the existing guides are a bit old and out of date. These days I think it's easier to just have a "digest" version that covers important bits to know so you don't wipe or whatever.
As a new player, this was sooo helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time in creating an up to date video guide. This would've been almost too intimidating to try tanking without this knowledge.
No worries, and I'm glad if the format helped! And I welcome feedback, because that way I can make better guides in the future. Like, as a new player what is useful to know etc.
Coming in and finally going through most the content of this game during this fine quarantine after years of picking at it on a surface-level on and off, I find stuff like this absolutely integral. There's great guides out there for older content but they tend to cover it as it was on release, with some things patched and many mechanics now totally ignored or treated differently as more and more people have years of experience and item levels that more consistently dwarf the upper sync limits. Can't stress enough how monumentally useful nice, concise, well-put-together and 'current' guides like this are for newer players -- or players like me, finally getting serious.
You got it! That's exactly why I wanted to make this - I don't think people need 30 minute guides for a single fight, these days. Not on old content, at least! Plus they were pretty fun to make, I'm looking forward to all the Nier alliance being released so I can complete the set, so to speak.
You're welcome! One of the reasons I wanted to make 'em was that a lot of people are still new to 'em, afte rall. And they come up a lot in regular content
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm a new player, and it really helps to know what I am getting into, because I don't want to be the noob running around clueless (although most people are genuinely nice anyway). Helped make my first clear very stress-free.
I have covered the 50-70 alliance raids, so far! I'll make a video for the 80 alliance raids once the series is over (so... 6-7 months probably, depending on the game's updates being delayed etc)
No worries! I enjoy making guides. Plus a lot of video guides are like 30 minutes long when they could be 5 minutes and I feel like overloading someone's brain with information isn't going to help matters.
I'd add a few other important things, such as during Howling Atmos players need to run over the glowing platform to allow other groups to jump back up after knockoff; and Feint Particle Beam during Cloud of Darkness = run. This is a great guide to quickly go over before playing again after some time off the game, thanks
Really appreciate the updated guide! Have done the first 2 sections and noticed that the bosses just melted, so I was clearly going in trying to remember too many mechanics from old guides. Your abbreviated guides are much closer to the actual experience and are much more helpful! Cheers
I chuckled when you said Behemoth here is way easier than in MH World. And as a Monster Hunter player, I can confirm. The only way for me to even beat it in MH is to use sticky HBG solo or lance for party. Anyways thanks for this guide. I usually go blindly on my first try before I look up into guide. This guide made me aware of few mechanics that I should take note.
So i just did labyrinth of the Ancients, went in completly blind ('cause i really try to have a spoiler free playthough), i honestly didn't had a great time but still managed to clear it anyway with just 1 wipe to bahamut. Now i'm looking at these guides and cringing at how bad i played. i didn't enven understand that i had to stick to my own aliance and do the job assigned to it, I was completly confused during battle. In the end i gotta say that i'm so glad i didn't go white mage, or it would probably have been hell.
I'm just going through this for the first time on xbox and I wanna say thanks for the info... the player base has completely out geared this entire raid... but it's nice to not go in completely blind to what I'm supposed todo
@@SilverMont all 3 raids are mandatory MSQ from ARR into HW but how are sprouts supposed to know such elaborated mechanics from scratch ? i wonder how it went very first time aka when everybody and their grandma were sprouts and not a single veteran available :p
It wasn't mandatory back then, but yeah back when people had lower ilvl it was considerably more painful. They only made crystal tower mandatory within the last year or two
@@Void0420 you are among >20 other players and usually some tactics will be announced in advance. remember: the raid overlay will announce a bonus for the attendance of new players, so everybody knows at least one player in in the raid starts first time.
Brand new to the game. I need this one now to progress and to be totally honest a lot of these guides go so fast over info. Lol It feels like taking a final that you didn't study for, but tried to cram the info. before walking into the exam. 😭
Its not that ilvl is high and causing the ability to skip mechanics. Its the change in how ilvl sync works and how it used to. Used to only give NQ values and now it gives HQ values. Also they SE has reworked how damage is calculated which also has buffed lower lvl dps
Of course it's a combination of things, but yeah everyone is going in with Ironworks+ gear for the most part these days, which is very high for ARR content.
@@SilverMont not really. Its mainly just the sync NQ-HQ change. Those raids were never design for that and later ones were. Out gearing those raids has been possible for a very long time. Even before the HQ sync change.
who knew this would actually be required, and not just for fun, I sure didn't and now I'm annoyed. ah well, thanks for showing it's mostly a romp in shb at least.
This is freaking me out, I'm literally learning everything on my own so this is sorta daunting. Also why do my cross bars for my keyboard change when I enter an alliance duty? How do I edit them? Because that annoyed the hell out of me, when I entered an alliance I had no idea how to fight, mount, and dismount without entering the dang companion menu. It's like it changed everything.
Huh. Well I know they change in PvP because you have different abilities. But for an alliance? I've never had that happen. Is there a setting somewhere that has like "raid/alliance hotbars" ?
@@SilverMont Really appreciate these guides for current and new players coming into the game. It was shocking how many of these mechanics were straight up ignored. I was the only sprout, and the ONLY person in alliance B who went into vore city. I think some people are masochists and pretend they know what's going on. And that's straight up hilarious tbh.
I think they made it part of the MSQ as it's very important later on. Don't worry though, it's extremely easy these days. You can q up and clear it painlessly.
Just started crystal tower with my wife. On top of it being our first ff raid it was our first ever mmo raid. The experience was completely garbage and the total opposite of what ive come to expect from the games community. Nothing was explained, everyone immediately sprinted to and started every fight when they could, and made us rez ourselves when we died so we had to run back to the fight. Plus we couldnt enjoy the story because they would just rush to the next thing, wish theyd make these unskippable like the castrum scenes or something, we wanna get to HW but this totally took the wind out of our sails
Yeah, it's not a great experience going through that content now, for the first time. Most of the people you'll get in with are doing it for the 400th time and just rushing, which isn't fun for the first timers.
dangit i think i just got to the part of the story i hate a lot. just watching this to see whats goin to happen and it looks long for no reason. first raid, but still it to long or to many boses. and cant continue till i get past this lol
This is not what I had I mind my dude this is a 7 year old raid lol. Like I value you putting out ff14 content but it's hard to queue up for this raid and not get carried due to ilevel cheese.
I plan on covering all the alliance raids as they are still relevant. Ok just want to start at... The start. And have handy video digests that new players can use to check all the important mechanics

Super helpful now that the new update requires new players to go through this to complete the story and continue to the first expansion. Great video!
