An Abysmal Movie: The Scargiver

- This film is grotesque. There are no characters, awful slow-mo and a nonsensical plot that centres around magic bread with more holes in it than a colander. In other words, a Zack Snyder disaster piece. Join me instead of watching the film! You’ll thank me for it.
If you were unfortunate enough to sit through this nightmare fest, let me know what you thought down below! I’ve tried out a different style of review, so I’d love your feedback.

Zak Snyder is the only guy in danger of being completely replaced by AI.
hahahaha
lol you believe they have a whole UA-cam channel with Snyderbots who vehemently support this movie and talking to them obviously shows how low their IQ is.
If ever there was a soulless film completely generated by AI, I feel it would be indiscernable from this.
How do you tell the difference between AI and Zack Snyder?
@@studio96films65 ChatGPT would probably tell a better story and have the foresight not to go ham on the slow mo feature. I wonder if he did it to pad the runtime hahahahhs.
If Zach was so worried about being voted out and focus groups coming in he should’ve wrote a better movie.
That would've been nice!
Snyder is the king of upwards failure.
Snyder's best film was 300. Every film he's made since was a step down from it.
Yeah 300 was fun. Have to admit I've never seen Watchmen, I hear a lot of polarising things about that.
@@DarthNerdus1 300 was epic. I still see people quoting it today..Watchmen had its moments...But they changed the ending it had in the graphic novel.
Which is to say Frank Millers best graphic was 300. Snyder simply treated it as a storyboard & got dubious credit for creativity that wasn’t his own.
@@djofortunato5799 EXACLY
Nah, that would be Watchmen. 300 hasn't aged all that great, in 2007 tho it was truly epic haha
the movie does not even need to be set in space.
He's only done it because he wants his version of lightsabers and Death Star lasers!
the movie does not even need to be
Well, they did that already. It’s called Seven Samurai.
If you watch it you’d realize immediately - he ripped off one of the greatest films of all time
or in a tri-dimenaional world
So it should be set in a void?
Even AI refuses to use anything Snyder makes as a reference 🤣
Rebel Moon: The Quest for Bread
Dawn of the Bread
Man of Meal
@@DarthNerdus1 AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA
Rebel grain
Spaceballs: The Breakfast Cereal
watching this movie 2 minutes in, i skipped towards the center and then near at the end of the movie. both movies
I don't think they would've been any less incoherent 😂
I hate dumping further on ZS because losing a child must be the worst feeling in the world. All I'll add is that I hope he starts utilizing a writer to improve pacing, dialogue, and overall plot.
I... honestly don't get the motivation behind idiotic nods to the Roman Empire. What's the ACTUAL point here? Firstly; we're in a fantasy/sci-fi setting of a different galaxy in which the Roman Empire likely never happened. Secondly, even if it DID, WHY on EARTH would the murder of their ruler in any way, shape or form reflect the murder of an actual Roman Emperor? It just makes absolutely no sense. I mean, granted, in SW the *design* of the Imperial Officers was reminiscent of a blend of Nazi and British officer's uniforms, but they didn't actually re-enact actual scenes from the Revolurionary War or WW2? That would've been absolutely ridiculous. I mean I GUESS Snyder could've made it so this is like an alternate history in which the Roman Empire doesn't fall and where this Intergalactic Empire is like Roman Empire having evolved like 5000 years into the future, and that scene mimicking the death of Julius Caesar would STILL be incredibly stupid and out of place.
Second... I mean, did I miss something, is the Roman Empire suddenly this big thing that's the leading subject of every cocktail party world wide, or...? I mean in the context of the times, like 2024, you're nodding at the Roman Empire and making fun of their military haircuts; but for what audience, exactly? I mean, I myself am a Mediterranean so I grew up on a steady diet of the French "Asterix" comics which basically... EXIST exclusively to mock the Roman Empire, and not even *I* find this in any way interesting or funny or relevant in any way. I can only imagine how stupid and out of touch this looks like to people who didn't think about the Roman Empire since their last 5th grade history quiz. It's not like the world has these legions of fans of the Roman Empire that you're sticking it to, or that it's such a popular subject you focus your intergalactic Sci Fi movie on it. If it was a movie about the actual Roman Empire, like the Asterix movies, I'd love it but... this is just MILES off any reasonable target.
The entire thing comes off as if Sheldon of The Big Bang Theory was telling a joke. Like, "a photon takes a room at the hotel, and the receptionist asks him, "do you have any luggage sir". And the photon replies, "no, I'm travelling light". Half the people didn't get it and the people who got it didn't find it funny, just uninteresting; irrelevant and pretentious.
I think it's because Snyder's not remotely interested in the world building, or even the details behind what's he's mimicking, just the aesthetic. Everybody knows the assassination of Caesar, the Roman Empire, and the Red Wedding so they can project that knowledge onto the scene, and in his head that therefore makes it work. Which is fine if it's a child smashing his action figures together, not if you're spending $150m making a movie.
I'd love to talk to him about it because I genuinely think he's really proud of that scene.
7:00 They can scan the village but the the not the shuttle. Make sense!
Maybe it's like the Last Jedi's de-cloaking scan and somehow has a limited use of once 😂
The caesar killing was not on my mind when I saw this scene, but I was more reminded of the murder of Gustav III. who was shot at a masked ball by his own nobles.
Just been reading about that, really interesting!
Best clip from Buffy TVS, “We happy few, We band of buggered.” Thanks for that.
Couldn't resist! 🙂
@@DarthNerdus1 don’t blame you, I love that show. Have both series on dvd collectors box sets
The studio plans a grand cycle of 64 sequels based on grain --because everyone has eaten bread as a child and really likes it.
haha love all the buffy references
Wooo! Godzilla Minus One praise at the end!
Anyway, never watched this movie, never will. Watching reviews for it is hella fun though.
You've made the right choice 😂 And yeah, Godzilla Minus One was fantastic! Looking forward to it releasing in 4k to rewatch it.
@@DarthNerdus1 Godzilla Minus One is the GOAT! My profile pic is a Shikishima plushie I commissioned in fact!
I don’t think the low budget is something exactly to aspire for, people do need to get paid after all, and I’m pretty sure Yamazaki said that he wishes for more if he makes a sequel, but you can go far by being efficient.
I feel I didn’t miss out on much lol
Wow, that's really cool! On the budget point, it's more about how it just shows the profligacy in Hollywood, whereas something like Godzilla Minus One squeezes every ounce of value from it's far smaller budget.
I'm 50/50 on it, but do you want there to be a sequel? I know the ending allowed for it, but still.
@@DarthNerdus1 That movie has captured my soul. I wanted human merch so bad so I commissioned the whole Shikishima family as plushies. I’ve written fanfiction. Words cannot describe how much I love that movie.
Yeah! It shows how efficient Yamazaki was. Though he deserved to cook with more.
Hmm… I’m not so sure. But as long as the sequel isn’t Shikishima Torture 2: Electric Boogaloo, I think it will be fine by me? I’m also 50/50. I want to see more from these characters, but I also don’t want them to suffer unnecessarily more.
The orchestra should at least stop for some reason. But Lucas wasnt much smarter when he wrote Star Wars.
After the Empire blows up Aldaraan, Leia actually says in a deleted scene, "And you call yourselves human...?"
Later in the prequels, Lucas wants us to care about Vaders redemption after he murders a bunch of younglings
Did you hear, theres going to a an R rated version dropping and its an hour longer. Dear god save us.
All aboard for some hardcore grain farming! Wait, it's an hour longer?!
rebel Moon was so bad omg. plot, character development, twists... can't think of a single thing done right. wait maybe some visual framing
Generous of you to even say there was any character development :D
The robot looked cool. The whole movie should have been able the robot's story arc.
The other reviews of Scargiver I watched connected the band playing with Titanic. It's interesting to see you connect it to the Red Wedding scene.
Best rebel moon film ever
I can’t imagine they did, but do they explain why the “totes not a lightsaber”s are sometimes red, sometimes blue?
Of course not! 😀
Sofia with her teenage face, body and voice - a veteran-stormtrooper...🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Snyder, this is a really funny joke! 👍👍👍🤣🤣🤣💥
I enjoyed both movies. I wasn't expecting some big Blockbuster movie. Its on Netflix, and its exactly what I expected. Gonna watch it again.
Netflix has much better movies than this one.
@@enadegheeghaghe6369 They sure do, but I enjoyed this one. People expected some high budget blockbuster or something. I enjoyed it for what it was.
The plot reminded me more of Magnificent Seven than Star Wars. Surprised that the narrator of this review didn’t see the similarities.
Everytime I jumped onto YT there's another fresh RM roast dump... and there are sooooo many
+Bro speaks like Ramsey Bolton
So many videos about this. They where better than the movie.
All hail KingPO.
I turned off Army of the Dead after 15 minutes because I thought I was having a migraine. I'm being 100% serious! The out-of-focus, shallow depth of field was too much for me. These movies are proof that the cinematographers have been holding Snyder's hand his whole career.
I think Netflix should bring Joss Whedon for the next Rebel Moon movie. Boo yeah
You know you've made a bad movie when I have the streaming service its on and I can't be bothered to watch it, even in the background.
Fuck current-day Doctor Who.
You failed to say "Daario Naharis, who's just a bad guys, doing bad things, and Daario Naharis, a villager who fancies Kora but doesn't like combat."
Geek demerits.
How many Daario Naharis' does Zack Snyder need to make a good film? 😀
@@DarthNerdus1 All of them!
Damn, I really love Watchman I suppose because of the cinematography.
I still need to see Watchmen, I've had the DVD and comic book sat on the shelf for years and just never got around to it.
@@DarthNerdus1 The opening scene hooked me for good and all through to the very end.
do you think that in a years time zak will drop two fresh steaming turds of 'the zak cut' of the [cough] films?
Oh they are doing alternate versions of both of these horror shows. I can hardly wait.... 🙄
@@DarthNerdus1 nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
It’s like this film was written by A.I. 😂
😂 death nerdus 🤣🙌🏾
I'm in the minority here but I actually do prefer this to the first movie. Especially from halfway point into the movie.
It's so bad I really think Snyder is a cancer on the entertainment industry.
farmville under threat, again ... HAHAHAHAHA
Aftar I wotch thi movy I cann no spel no mhore. It ayt my brane.
I don't think I've ever heard of a stupider movie of late. An empire with planet destroying ships is obsessed with a single village's grain. Said ship is powered by coal. It's hard to imagine a bunch of adults wrote this. I've read fanfic by teens that was way better and more interesting than this rubbish.
Let’s not forget that on top of it being powered by Coal they’ve somehow captured and implemented some type of ancient God into the ship as well
You'd have thought the captured god would be properly mentioned in the film wouldn't you, but nah, who needs it 😂
@@DarthNerdus1 The ancient god trapped as a fuel source would have been fucking interesting! Maybe that's something they "saved" for the R-cut, but regardless, the movie is an abomination.
How many of you UA-camrs will make a video about this Jesus Christ. Anything for views i guess.
Snyder is great.. as long as he is forced to stick to a good script (as in, not written by him) and have someone in the editing room hitting him with a rolled paper everytime he goes for the slo mo. IMO he is there with Shyamalan and the Wachowskis, the more creative freedom and money they're given the worse their pictures get. At least Shyamalan and the Wachowskis have some good original ideas once in a while. Snyder just keeps stealing from everyone and thinking of himself as a visionary auteur
Dont listen to him,it's an exelent movie
Glittering terd
