Spot on! I'm not a sci-fi fan, but I can still find enjoyment in this genre. However, this film underestimated my intelligence to the point where it really irritated me.
17:04 Kal El NOOOO! 🤣😂😂 I love your sense of humor, keep making more videos like this... 👏👏👏 23:29 And one more comment, if you thought that the way they introduce the main characters and their history was lasy, let me tell you that I thought it was an improvement and it was way better than doing it by just opening an e-mail... 🤷🤣😂😂
This film was really tough to get through. What really floored me is that scene where the giant space eagle murdered the rancher guy. Im like, whoah why would someone do that? Its so beyond the pale, even in a nonsensical trash fire like this film. But then i realized the only reason they did that was because the guy isnt good looking. They murdered him because hes ugly. Only for that. Wow.
You would THINK that Star War/hammer 40K / Seventh Samurai would make for an excellent film. However, Hack Snyder has to do his very best to stick his fat fist through a beautiful premise and then confusedly use his best material in snippets of the film. A much more unique take on this film would be seeing how Kora becomes disillusioned, like an inversion of Saving Private Ryan. We've never had a, STAR WARS film about The Empire. That could be him making new ground and he could even have his Seven Samurai film as each of her squad gets killed, justifying the premise.
Even my teen cousins who haven't watched Star Wars or Seven Samurai or played Warhammer 40k found it boring and pretentious and asked to switch to another film midwatch. It's not bad because it's being compared to much better films or sources of influence. It's just bad, period. It's ugly, the world-building is a mess, the characters are bland or annoying, the fight scenes are generic by today's standards and have nothing new to offer, and the overuse of slow-mo is just fockin painful! very painful to watch! jeezus!
Good video! You did a good job refocusing the direction of the story and giving more reasonable motivations for the actions of the characters/plot. Sometimes the music was too loud to hear what was being said (towards the end) and some criticisms at the end could have been rolled into the 'why rebel moon doesn't work' section at the beginning. Otherwise the comparisons and criticisms were accurate, relevant, and succinct. Keep it up!
Tbh, I'm keeping a bit of hope up for projects like Rebel Moon. It was better than any of the Disney Lucas Film bowel movements. Also, maybe more creators like Zack Snyder will move forward with their own projects. It's as if Rebel Moon opened the door to produce & release films that go after the same target audience as the Disney/Lucas/Marvel/D C. Sure some will suck, but there's bound to be some gems in the pile.
It’s so annoying I loved this movie and I’m a big stars wars fan. Snyder did state he a fan too and got inspiration but people are giving bad reviews because they are comparing it to stars wars. I thought the concept was great I do wishe Snyder just released the Snyder cut at the beginning . But yeah I think people are comparing too much and just giving reviews based off that
Netflix doesnt want movies, it wants content

Nah, the anthony hopkins monologue at the start isn't the most boring intro....
...that goes to the anthony hopkins monologue at the start of part 2!
Zack Snyder is a Hack
You know it's bad when Disney turns it down lol
That Men-at-Work drop was awesome! I cracked up!

Please review part 2! Your reviews are so funny
Wait…. the soldier is going to teach the general to lead? Does Zack know how military hierarchy works?

The King's Gays?
Just when you think movies cannot get any stupider, voila!

So the space nazis didn't want all the food from the planet they nuked? Lol
Good review, we actually do see the orc guy again though. He's the one Kai talks to when setting up the trap to grab Kora and the others.
Ah, thanks!
@@brinestein You're welcome. In case you're interested, I did a video where I rewrote Rebel Moon 🤣

HE REALLY IS JUST SPAMMING THESE STORYTELLING TECHNIQUES how does the girl represent the bucket Zach she spilled too?

slower! SLOWER.
It’s not about comparing to existing movies, rebel moon just didn’t fulfill the basic storytelling nor logic of a “basic” film should have!
I didn't think it was that bad, it was basically the magnificent seven in space. Very similar to a guardians of the galaxy movie
Cry more, star wars fan
@@wingnut7408 Makes sense, hate watching is a degenerative vice
Cry baby talking 😅
