nice one andy, the ironhead squats are deffo gonna be my gang when i get into necromunda. nice idea with them having different armour colours, i might steal that if that's okay, haha. it'll be a nice contrast to the grimdark 40k armies.
I think you will master the use of the new paints in no time and I think you did a great job already. After the stream yesterday, I will definitely grab the sewer brown. Keep the steady pace! It is great to see you grow through so steadily but please as soon as you feel like you need somewhat of a break, take it!
Ive found that the army painter strong tone and dark tone mixed 2:1 with medium have an almost identical finish to the old aggrax and nuln oil respectively. They stain and keave a matt finish
Really looking forward to getting my grubby little hands on some Squats and the Necromunda gang seem like a good stopgap til the full release. Quality video as always.
Maybe on the black, use black legion on darker areas and the older black on lighter parts, similarly, use that new red on darker areas and try the gryph charger orange on lighter parts of the red/orange armour.
Really cool scheme and video, I had heard than magmadroth and Black Legion were quite strong colours, I'd be curious how much using contrast medium would affect the 'contrastyness' of the paints. It might be worth diluting the magmadroth flame slightly?
I think give Army Painter shades a try. I've been using them for a decade and Army Painter don't just randomly change up their formula and consistency. Plus they come in dropper bottles pre-loaded with mixing balls now. Literally cannot ask for a better more complete product.
Yeah, the new contrast paints were an experiment in this one, aiming for more orange for my own boys! Agree about the black, this new black is less contrast-y than the old one :D Thanks for the comment and for watching!

Honestly I have no idea yet. My gut says yes. But I can’t be sure untill I’ve used them for a while.

I still need to do that video. Mechrite washed in black and then layered up again. I used bronze for all the metallic parts. And black cloth.

Liked the scheme but I would see a leagues of votann armour a wee bit more orange-ish. Likewise would think over the black. Maybe too flat?

Everybody is complaining about the new shades. Some people like them but most say they are junk.

Not going to buy the Black legion, not enough contrast and 2 coats of black templar makes more contrast for Imo. 1 coat is a nice black/grey
