I'm glad you enjoyed it! I want to hear as much about the Votann as I can. I should have a Votann painting video out by the end of the week, although it's a totally different scheme this time. Thanks for watching!
"Squats are gone though" "Can we fix it?" "Leagues of Votann" "Yes we can!" Definitely cool looking, 40k universe needs more bright colors like this and the scheme came out so well. The new contrast yellows are probably the first citadel paints I've seen that I actually might buy and use, because damn yellows are hard to find and they look so freaking nice.
Haha, they certainly fixed it! Twice! Thanks, it's something a bit different for me, so i'm happy. I wish I had access to the new yellows, it would have been a lot easier.
Fantastic models and great tutorial! thanks for sharing :) I was thinking of painting mine orange and this video has helped me a lot to get an idea of how they would look.
Thanks, i'm really happy you liked them! I'm wondering if the new Magmadroth Flame contrast might be a better base than the Gryph-Hound Orange now. I think I might try that.
These guys look great and the colours work so well. Very practical for mining. I'm going to have to try out that orange myself. Looking forward to hearing how the new contrast colours will fit in on a future gang. 👍🖌️🎨😍
They look spot on! I couldn’t get on well with contrasts when I’d tried previously, yours finish really nicely! I’ve been using them a bit more on mine, I’m painting the rest of my necrons in honour of the big points and rules buff 😄
Thanks! Somehow, I find them easier to use than standard paints. They cover a lot better and have the right consistency for me. I’d love to see your Necrons!
You said some paints are soon different. What paints would you suggest for me to buy to replicate this today? Thanks! Yours is my favorite scheme of these guys!
There are a few new yellow Contrast paints worth a look. Imperial Fist yellow would give a more vibrant helmet. I thought Magmadroth Flame would be good for the orange but I haven’t tested it yet. Gryph hound Orange can still be used, no problem. Thanks for the kind words and good luck with your minis!
Looks great! The new squats are pretty awesome! Are you getting into Horus Heresy? I've boxed up all my 40k. My focus is on HH and Blood Bowl for the time being.
@@TheHalfDoneHobbyist You're a great painter! You should be! Nice, I really like Duncan's HH scheme for Space Wolves, if you've seen that. Thats an army I'd always love to have. I had to go with my guy Dorn for HH. But I bought 2, and I have the Calth and Prospero boxes so I'll be picking a second army for variety after I finish my Imperial Fists. Everything is assembled, now comes the long haul of painting LOTS of yellow. Ughhh... Lol
Thanks, I think I have my moments, but totally lack consistency. I haven’t seen Duncan’s Space Wolves, but I’ll look out for them. I’m going for a very dark stormy grey for mine. That is a ton of painting! I was pretty disappointed when I dug out my Prospero box and the Mk3 guys were tiny! I don’t know if I’d field them in the same force as the VI. What are your thoughts?
@@TheHalfDoneHobbyist Unpopular opinion: I prefer the HH scale. Lol. But if you put the MK 6 next to the MK 3 & 4, the difference is very minimal and I think unnoticeable if they are spread out across the board. Now the Preators are HUGE compared to anything else. I think that was a bit of an odd choice on GWs part. Put the MK 4 chaplain next to the Sword Preator and the difference is crazy. Theyre like Primaris scale.
I really like the Bob the Builder scheme! It fits the new squats. But if I’m to be honest, I don’t really like the new models, unfortunately there are so many other space dwarves made by other companies. They look too, eh, normal? Luckily, my friends and store are pretty chill about non GW minis so we all get to use the ones we think are coolest.
Thanks! I wasn’t a big fan of them until I got them ‘in hand’, and now I really like them. They don’t have many options though, so there will probably be a lot that look the same, so getting/printing some different models will be a good thing. It’s great that you can use what you want at your store, I don’t think my local one would be so good about it! 🤣
@@TheHalfDoneHobbyist huh, maybe they are the type of mini you need to hold and look at before you start liking it? Too bad the kits are limited in options, I really enjoy the building part, some good old kit bashing might be in order if I get one. Hopefully one of my friends buys a box and I can convince him to a "a mini for a mini" trade! The only rule my store has for their tournaments (in booked rooms they don't care if we have goblins as space marines) is that you need to be able to roughly recognize what faction they are from. We have a GW store in town that holds more official stuff, though that is rare But my store is happy with most things as long as we buy our minis from them :p
I have another box now that I. happy to cut up, so I have a few ideas for them. I might look into the stl market too. Your local shop sounds very cool!
Exactly the video I was looking for! Glad to see a fellow squat enthusiast. I too love the wee guys. Hoping we get a novel about them soon

Looks awesome! I don't play any of the games, I just enjoy building and painting the minis and these models are next on my list.
Thanks so much! I really enjoyed painting these guys, so much so, I bought another box. Really nice to do.
They look fantastic! I need to get a box myself but knee deep in the age of darkness.
Thanks! I’m looking forward to seeing your White Scars too!
Looks amazing they turned out great and you could say the colure scheme really builds character.
🤣 Thanks! Lovely models to paint.
😂
Great video, and well explained throughout!
Thank for the kind words, I’m very glad you enjoyed it!
Easy to follow and looks great!
Thank you very much!

@@TheHalfDoneHobbyist It is a good test, it may give an interesting result. Although with the Gryph-Hound the result is amazing. :)
Cheers! It’s one of those schemes that you’re not sure it’ll work but it all came together to look ok.

Thanks, I’m quite pleased with them! I’m thinking of adding a Goliath Rockgrinder in a similar scheme. I’ll definitely add to the gang over time!

@@TheHalfDoneHobbyist Added you on insta, I’ll take a few more pics as I finish the army up.
Nice one.
They look great, I'm betting they can fix anything in the Imperium....yes they can!
Haha! Thanks! I think I lost a few people at that point in the video!🤣

Yup... New subscriber✅
Thanks, much appreciated!
They look really good. Are they playable in a hive setting in necromunda or are they only available for ash wastes?
Thanks! Yeah, you can use them in a Hive game too. I’ll definitely keep building this up.
