This can only be used if you haven't reached brave mode yet, if you reach the red spirit gauge the Y+B will only do a normal fade slash. So in a way it's a hybrid between valor and adept now
Booo!, give me my reload guard-point brave GL instead smh... :/ Been facetious aside, this is an overall well done mod ofc it should be only used for single player (for obvious reasons that have already been mentioned).
The Mod works fairly well in multiplayer, (at least mostly, unsure if there's bugs and stuff I just haven't encountered yet) even if other LS users aren't rocking it. It DOES make their moves that you lose (helm breaker, Iai, etc) look supremely wonky though, or lose the animation on your end altogether.

Valor Hammer... Oh you mean inferior Adept Hammer :^) For real though, the fact that World's new Hammer moveset is the Adept moveset tethered to the classic one has made this game next level fun for me.
A lot of what I see is that there are so many new hunters who don’t understand what they’re looking at. It’s why we haven’t had people begging for arts and styles because there’s just so many new faces who have no knowledge or experience for them. I doubt capcom will see this as, “we need to bring this to Iceborne” and will probably bring them for the next gen monster hunter. Hopefully they’ll leave behind the clutch claw as well.
Personally I wasn't the biggest fan of hunting arts, it felt like certain arts should've just been integrated into the weapons moveset, instead of an once in awhile "special move". I do agree that the clutch claw needs to go.
Lynx Fresh I think arts n styles are just nice to give weapons more options. They don’t have to be insanely op like Valor LS but something that’ll definitely put an impact on the fight. I’m getting kinda sick of the base moveset for LS.
@@lynxfresh5214 I hated how styles meant that weapons would have specific attacks and motions arbitrarily removed in order to make each style different from one another. For example, Striker Charge Blade didn't have the charged double slash. It made the weapon feel not only clunky, but also like it was missing an essential part of it.
I remember styles and hunter arts being pretty divisive when Gen came out. Imo they felt pretty rushed and in some cases unbalanced and I wouldn’t get too teary eyed if they don’t come back. I’d prefer it if they just kept improving and polishing the base movesets. And yeah I wouldn’t be too upset if the clutch claw went and skidattled the fuck outta thenext game either.
@@tylermacgregor1320 Agreed on your point about improving and polishing the base movesets. Styles aren't all they're hyped out to be. Whenever people bitch and cry about bad weapon balance in World or Iceborne, I just laugh, because World's predecessor, MHGU, had some of the worst weapon balancing in the series. Compare, for example, the difference between Valor HBG and every other HBG style. It's like comparing the destructive capabilities of a nuclear warhead versus a roadside pebble. It's the same with Hunter Arts. You would see almost no variety in what MHGU's TA runners would use when it comes to Hunter Art choice. This is of course not to say that Iceborne doesn't have balancing issues, but when you compare it to MHGU, Iceborne's balancing issues almost seem tame compared to MHGU's.
I was going to say that surely Capcom is taking notes about all this. Maybe not to bring Valor back but to integrate some of its mechanics into the next iteration of Longsword.
Hey Herny! I just made twitch affiliate and been growing in the xbox mhw community! Hope you watched Black Clover. Btw they should totally make Alatreon's weapons change up the fighting style of weapons similar to hunter styles.
Honestly, that Mizu(?) long sword is fucking beautiful. I was never too much of a Valor LS guy, but the mod seems pretty neat regardless. Now to wait for an Adept Dual Blades(if it's even necessary, I don't know World too good tbh) mod because I'm a lame person.
very cool, valor longsword was a lot of fun in GU... I don't have mhw pc though, so... also, I think styles definitely won't appear in any main games. maybe they'll have them in a spinoff game similar to generations, but MH6, whatever that'll be, it definitely won't have them.
Something that would be cool, and will probably never exist, is extreme style switch axe. It will probally never exist because it comes from a relativley unknown MH game (atleast in the west). It would require a large overhaul of some elements of switchaxe and it is hard to find good refrence for what it was like unless you have personal experience. But that giant energy blade looked so cool and it was fun to watch it in speedruns.
So basically it's just even more broken than GU valor LS. Even with the change that it can only be refreshed once you hit yellow again, that's just 1 quick roundslash the second red drops down. That guardpoint also getting OG now just means you can use that counter to proc both evasion mantle and OG at once, basically a free 45% attack boost. It's a cool idea to recreate the moveset to show the possibility but I definitely don't need this done for everything. I'd rather keep the styles and arts in their own game.
Wallace Sousuke I disagree. Styles would make the game even easier and some styles just wouldn’t be used due to some being outright inferior to the other styles(like the alchemy style for example). Sure it would it add a little variety but styles and weapon arts should be integrated into the weapons base move sets instead. They could update our weapon’s move sets like MH frontier updated their weapons.
I'd be pretty excited to play valor hammer, since I've never gotten around to playing GU. I'm not sure, though, if I'm comfortable with non-shield weapons (GS gets a pass on this though) having guard points and absolute evasions like with adept style or the brave sheath, whatever that thing's called.
it would be cool if they added aerial style or adept but then the modder would have to make entirely new animations just for that which I dont think a modder would do unless they are passionate about it, which seems to be pretty common in the modder community EDIT: I see why capcom isnt very... hyped for the mods coming to this game, they want you to play the game as intended but we play how we want anyway (kind of) by bringing in the styles from older games, adding better looking weapon skins and well... stuff thats a bit fucking overkill
Hunter styles were one of the coolest ideas monster hunter ever had. They greatly enhanced the gameplay with the options you have. I would love to see them incorporated in world so I can have adept greatsword or aerial dual blades back
Hopefully in the next game, they should make another color gauge that will amp up longsword and drastically change the movesets similar to valor longsword. Like maybe you gain valor movesets and have quick sheathing applied to your longsword. But the new color has a limited time of use before it goes back to red or something and you need to reapply it. Im just kinda bummed that my longsword is bottom tier in terms of speedrun times. And also iai spirit slash being very inconsistent in parrying and dealing white damage due to it having 2 hits, 1st on the counter itself and 2nd is a delayed hitbox. For example, rajang does a blanka ball and you iai spirit slash it, you deal the 1st damage on a weakspot but due to 2nd hit being a delayed hitzone, and rajang moving way too fast, it hits on non weak spots instead of the head. They just need to buff longsword hahaha and the other weapons too to compete with the ranged weapons
Hey Herny! 'd love it if you looked into the Lance QOL mod and the Insect Glaive Overhaul mods. I think the Glaive one is nice, but the Lance QOL if broke af, imo.
I'm ok with these mods if they're played in solo only and are balanced, the devs didn't intend to play like this but I think that they would bring in some kindof a similar thing in the future which is balanced and fun to use.
My only MH game and over 2000+ hunts with a LS, I can see why this was not added. This would make LS the best in terms of dps for melee users. Being able to stay on the monster with those ultra instinct counter moves would definitely make using dual blades useless. You're basically not prone to animation attacks if this was wield on the right hands. Nonetheless, seeing a lot of modded moves would be pretty cool though.
the end-lag from the spirit combo feels like a balancing mechanic. i wish if ever this gets balanced, make this style more punishable, forcing people to narrow the room for error and/or up the risk-vs-reward aspect of Valor itself.
i would imagine if Capcom brings Hunter Arts in mhw , they should give us the choice to change our weapon's combat, i mean i don't mind having a new gameplay combat change, i thought in MHGU having Hunter Arts was ok but at first i like being as a Badass Hunter doing cool moves . that's just my own questions , welp idk who knows , we'll see what Capcom does next .
You know, its quite telling that its only really the graphics that apparently hold people back from just playing GU instead of World. I dont understand why, but thats just me.
Not really. GU has a painfully slow start that's easily 60% busywork 40% hunting for several hours, and it's much trickier to get used to due to lacking the quality of life changes World brought in.
I picked up GU on the Switch and it's not just the graphics. The beginning has been so incredibly dull, there's practically no story to follow, and the quality of life changes in World are all so fantastic. I'm trying to get back into GU since World is quite stale currently and I really like the styles for weapons, but boy is it rough after playing world
I literally don’t care about any other parts of valor gunlance, BUT PLEASE can we get gp’s on quick reload again? It makes the weapon, especially normal style feel so much smoother. With the damage of world and mechanics of GU, gunlance could be even better than its World reincarnation
I would say that a lot of those attacks have way too high motion values. Some of them do as much damage as an uncharged GS charge slash, and while that's really weak for GS standards, that attacks still takes like 4 seconds to do.
I have tested it online for a few hours and nothing seems to break, even when playing with other longsword users, their movesets are normal and function normally on their end. As far as I know, monhun World has no formal online ban system either, so unless they implement it as a response to gameplay altering mods like this, I don't see it being an issue. However take this with a grain of salt, as it's built on assumptions.
I still cannot believe someone managed to do this.

The BGM around 8 min reminded me of the anime, Parasyte(Kiseijuu). Remembering the tense moments in there. Hahaha
As a diehard GL fan it would be cool to see Brave/Valor GL in World or a future game.
0:10 You look like you're gonna sell me some sketchy but effective items
Another banger of a video
Hey man good videos keep it up Man U deserve more then 35k subscribers
This is why I wanted styles in World
it would be cool if they added aerial style or adept but then the modder would have to make entirely new animations just for that which I dont think a modder would do unless they are passionate about it, which seems to be pretty common in the modder community
EDIT: I see why capcom isnt very... hyped for the mods coming to this game, they want you to play the game as intended but we play how we want anyway (kind of) by bringing in the styles from older games, adding better looking weapon skins and well... stuff thats a bit fucking overkill

Hunter styles were one of the coolest ideas monster hunter ever had. They greatly enhanced the gameplay with the options you have. I would love to see them incorporated in world so I can have adept greatsword or aerial dual blades back
ITS BACK!
yes we all very much want the bonk mod
Thats how Modder works
They never failed to impress us
Noticed you were using parasyte OST at the opinion part. Great taste.
My only MH game and over 2000+ hunts with a LS, I can see why this was
not added. This would make LS the best in terms of dps for melee users.
Being able to stay on the monster with those ultra instinct counter moves would definitely make using dual blades useless. You're basically not prone to animation attacks if this was wield on the right hands. Nonetheless, seeing a lot of modded moves would be pretty cool though.
the end-lag from the spirit combo feels like a balancing mechanic. i wish if ever this gets balanced, make this style more punishable, forcing people to narrow the room for error and/or up the risk-vs-reward aspect of Valor itself.
this is the coolest thing in the world by far aside from those old mods that changed monsters' movesets
herny kinda do be vibin tho
This mod is actually Overpowered.
Great choice in movies
That vertical spirit slash didnt make it to final version. I cant believe those modder add that unuse move
i would imagine if Capcom brings Hunter Arts in mhw , they should give us the choice to change our weapon's combat, i mean i don't mind having a new gameplay combat change, i thought in MHGU having Hunter Arts was ok but at first i like being as a Badass Hunter doing cool moves .
that's just my own questions , welp idk who knows , we'll see what Capcom does next .
I'm trying to get back into GU since World is quite stale currently and I really like the styles for weapons, but boy is it rough after playing world
I dont think anyone really cares about the graphics. For myself it's the simple fact I don't own a switch. For others I'm certain it's the same.
I don't have a switch and none of the emulators are currently working
YO WTF SWORD IS THAT? LOOKS SICK
Nice, but when's aerial switchaxe coming to iceborne?
Can you chain counters like you were able to in GU? Talking about doing a normal attack after the first counter to prep for the next counter
Glad to see the new uploa, love your content Herny.
0:09 DAT BOOOOTIFUL FACE!
I literally don’t care about any other parts of valor gunlance, BUT PLEASE can we get gp’s on quick reload again? It makes the weapon, especially normal style feel so much smoother. With the damage of world and mechanics of GU, gunlance could be even better than its World reincarnation
v cool vid thx hernia
I would say that a lot of those attacks have way too high motion values. Some of them do as much damage as an uncharged GS charge slash, and while that's really weak for GS standards, that attacks still takes like 4 seconds to do.
The temporal dodge would be a nice dodge
it would be nice to have a server where fashion was allowed in the case the brave long sword
I haven’t played world in a while but is that violet LS that he’s using with the Sakura leaf effects a modded LS? If not, is that a Yian Garuga LS?
modded mitsuzune with efx
what is the music used at the start of the video? is it something you made?
I love you Herny
Every time 8 hear the music in the beginning it just reminds me of the ltg clip
My favorite part of this mod is that it is listed under armor and clothing...
I always crack up whenever you say 3000 hours minimum
