This combo is so ridiculously power efficient! Especially when you put the cpu in eco mode. I'm getting around 40-60w on spiderman with the gpu and only max 10w power draw on cpu. Runs smoothly at 60fps for a lower power draw than my xbox.

I think the minimum recommended wattage is 500 but you could probably get away with a bit less than that even so long as you aren't planning on upgrading anything without switching out the power supply.

I just built my first PC. Basically the same build. Ryzen 5 5600/ RX 6600/ 16 GB DDR4 3600 MHZ/ MSI B550 Pro-VDH WIFI/ 480G SATA SSD/ EVGA 700W 80+ White psu. Got it up and running for just under $700. Then I realized I wanted/needed a better cooler and rgb! Added another $125 Smh. It's great to see this review. I think I made a decent choice

5600g is a PCI Express 3.0 and 5600 is a 4.0. Performance wise will be 10-15 fps lower. as always you can install the bloatware free windows, search for SPECTRE WINDOWS to compensate for the frames, but i want to hear from you what the performance will be, but on sheet that's the case. have a great day mister!

I was running Ryzen 5 2060 with GTX1060 6GB for years. Sold my old CPU and GPU for 2200 CZK and paid 8200 CZK for new Ryzen 5 5600 and RX6600. So at the end I only paid 6000 CZK (cca 240EUR) and I have brand new CPU and GPU now, running all the new games again with no problem on high/med settings.
I was building a PC for my friend at the same time, so I recommended him Ryzen 5 7600 with RX7800XT, so I hope AM5 socket will last for few years, so he can upgrade in the future like I did now.

Dear Danny, I have a question to ask concerning the PSU you have chosen. The RX 6600 according to TechPowerUp has very high "20ms spikes". To be precise, the spikes are measured at 249W which is higher than the RTX 3070. Just to be on the safe side, wouldn't a 650W PSU be a safer choice? Please correct me if I am wrong. I have been reluctant to recommend this GPU for budget gaming builds precisely for this reason.

I’m not sure of the exact performance uplift, but the 5600G is only PCIe 3.0, while the 5600 is 4.0. That alone is worth choosing the 5600.

The G is integrated graphics, no need for a gpu. Also runs like a 5500. No G needs card. 5600X needs card and runs higher.

Funny that my PC is also basically the exact same.
Though I went with a B550 Phantom ITX board. And I used the Thermaltake Core case for a nice mini PC 👍👍

I have a better cooling air system and a 14W/mK thermal paste, at 4450 it can't go down of 76°, at just 40% usage...

Lol years ago all the cases were like that - like literally all of them - with the PSU up top.

I’d go with the 6650 XT. It’s good for 1440p as well as high refresh 1080p. It will get you farther

Yo, how many Watts do I need to keep this build running in heavy mode gaming. I hear all the things about RX 6600 power efficiency but will 550W be enough? I was personally thinking about 600W PSU to be sure.

    • @DannysTechChannel

Yes, 550w would be plenty for this setup

The best combo for next 5 years. Because intel is cooked now. And this specs are way to powerful for majority of games. Chill

I have tried Spiderman remastered and elden ring. It runs 35 45 on max settings. But when i set settings to medium i easily get 70+ with no fsr. It can handle all games for next 5 years easily

its better , but also doubble the price (at least here in nothern europe) I chose the 5600x because it doesnt bottleneck even with a 6800 xt or 3080... I dont need that gpu anyways so....
